"I just taught him a small lesson…how was I supposed to know that he cannot handle a little bit of killing intent, or some bloodlust? Is it my fault that his mind is so weak?" Dilan defended himself, not accepting that it might have been his fault that Ben lost consciousness.
"What the hell are you talking about? That was definitely more than just a little bit of killing intent and 'some' bloodlust! You must have used some weird ability to attack his Soul!!" Katja, an Archer, and the other Demi God, who was with them in the Crimsonwood Forest.
Dilan just shrugged his shoulders, ignoring the complaints of the idiotic woman.
He stated the truth and nothing else. If he wanted to, he could show her the true extent of his killing intent and bloodlust, but Dilan didn't want to go over the top.
He knew that adding his experiences of death to the comprehension of true killing intent increased its effectiveness. These experiences were consistent with dying countless times over and over again, which resulted in the worst possible killing intent Dilan could imagine.
He was quite proud of his killing intent but it was not as if anyone around him could survive encountering it once fully unleashed. That was something Dilan understood quite clearly.
"Either way, you guys should have felt my killing intent as well. The 12 Apostles are probably capable of causing far more fear than my little entertaining show. You guys should stop grading everyone's combat prowess merely based on their Tier. Their rank may be quite important, and so are their stats but the effective use of abilities, special traits and techniques are enough to transcend the threshold Tiers pose.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEveryone should have understood that by now, or at least after the encounter with the Blood Orc Champion…or is someone else in need of a small demonstration to understand that a Tier-4 Ascender can easily eliminate a Demi God as long as they have the right equipment, techniques, traits, and techniques?" When Dilan issued his last words, his expression changed. He smiled in excitement, tilted his head and his eyes began to gleam brightly, almost as if he was asking everyone to challenge him…at the same time.
It was a weird feeling, but nobody dared to move for a few seconds, not even Dilan's friend, let alone Siegfried.
Siegfried's breathing was heavy right now and his quivering eyes fixated on Dilan. His hands were trembling and he could hardly control his legs. His legs seemed to have turned into jelly, but they were still sturdy enough to keep him from slumping to the ground.
"What…was that just now?" He mumbled without realizing it. His thoughts were an open book for everyone right now, especially because everyone felt the same as Siegfried, just slightly less affected because everyone other than Siegfried was already a Demi God.
"That was Dilan and a small glimpse of the things he went through during his Divine difficulty advancement mission. Just perceiving his killing intent was enough for me to pray that I will never be given the chance to accept a Divine mission," Kathrine said, patting on her student's shoulder while trying to look fine in front of Siegfried.
That was what she did successfully, on the outside, of course. Her inside was in a mess, and they had yet to start conquering the Tribe of the 12 Apostles.
"…and he said that he held back releasing his killing intent…what a monster…" Sven added when he appeared next to Kathrine, just for Rory to chuckle lightly.
"Looks like we won't have much of a problem conquering the Tribe of the 12 Apostles!"
Rory's words attracted some attention and she was glared at. However, Rory could only shrug her shoulders.
"What? I am even starting to believe that Dilan can defeat the Sun God. Call me crazy, but I am pretty sure that he can do it!"
The others looked at Dilan, whose eyes were glowing brightly as he took a glance in his surrounding. His eyes darted back to his people and he began to think hard once again.
"I guess…if someone can kill a God while being a Lower Tier-4 Ascender…then it would be Dilan…but still…" Victoria said. She didn't really think that Rory was crazy…nonetheless, a mortal defeating a God, not even a Demi God…that was a little bit too much, wasn't it?
But they were talking about Dilan right there…
"You guys don't have a Demi God with a focus on healing, or a Supporter, who can boost the strength of an individual and masses at the same time, right?" Dilan asked all of a sudden.
If Dilan were to separate the ten Demi Gods around him into separate groups, they would have Sven as the only non-combatant, and everyone else would be a combatant.
Williams, Katja, and Nicolas, the third Demi God Dilan didn't know beforehand, were the only ones, who could only fight long-range, at least that was what Dilan guessed.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmKatja was an Archer, and Nicolas was an Archmage with a focus solely on the Wind Element. As for Williams, Dilan was pretty sure that he focused on his Psychokinesis ability while advancing in the Tier. That was the only thing that made sense to him.
On the other hand, Felicia and Ben could only focus on close-distance fighting. Their abilities didn't allow them to issue long-range attacks.
Kathrine was mostly focused on close-distance fighting, but she could issue a few long-range attacks as long as she wanted to.
As for the rest, Victoria, Yvonne, and Rory could fight in every possible way, whether it was long-range, short-distance, with a tremendous amount of mana, or without mana.
The three were possibly the most versatile fighters, including Siegfried…but Dilan's nephew didn't really count because he was not strong enough yet!
As for Dilan…he could do everything that was necessary to obliterate his opponents!
"Well, whatever. We can still nurture a bunch of Ascenders when the time is ripe," Dilan said, not waiting for anyone to answer.
Instead, he turned around while stretching his back.
"It is about time that I will have some fun!"
