"Meet. Befriend. Seduce."
Those were the words promised which made him excited.
"Play Nightlife and date your favorite Vampire Girlfriend!"
The young man grabbed the video game out of the store's shelf and checked out the back.
"Three different main Vampire girls to interact with, from the cold beauty, Serena, the soft and sweet Lily and the obsessed but fun Chaerin."
He checked the price tag and let out a whistle. "Phew, it's a little expensive–but that's what you pay for superior animations and VR friendly too."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWas he going to sell his body organs for the game?
No. Luckily it wasn't that expensive, but it was still pricey.
"You should get that, dude–that's the final copy available here. It's a limited edition too."
"Limited edition?" He looked up at the pimply teenager at the register.
"Yeah! Bonus cutscenes, even NSFW ones if you know what I mean." The teen grinned.
"Huh." He checked it more and silently muttered. "I can probably pirate–"
"Nononono." The teen slammed his hands on the counter and frowned. "You can't find any other copies online. You have to pay the full amount to get the full experience, bud."
Lukas rolled his eyes.
He usually respected people who worked in the service industry, but this cashier was acting too chummy. But then again, a lost sale was a dent to the income of the game store–and this below minimum wage worker was defending the store like a knight protecting a pure maiden.
It made sense that he'd try to twist Lukas' arm into purchasing something, but he'd give credit to that.
"Fine, I'll buy it."
"You won't regret it, sir!"

Once Lukas left the store with his much emptier wallet and the game in his bag, the pimply teenager discarded his disguise.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHis appearance morphed into that of a tall, handsome and dangerous figure as he watched the young man leave to quickly head back home to play the game.
A wicked gleam visible in his dark void-like eyes.
"There's not much to regret when you die after all… but whether that's dying of pleasure or something else?" A grin curled on the supposed teenager's face. "We'll see."
Ring.
Out of nowhere, a sound made him falter as he pulled out an item from thin air.
The 'teenager' picked up his phone and answered in a cool tone.
"Yeah, yeah–I've sold it all to a bunch of base pleasure-driven fools. We'll just have to wait until they all login and we'll move forward after that. And yes, I sold the Limited Edition one."
A silence hung over the game store as a voice spoke from the other end of the line.
"What?" The expression of the man shifted into slight dread as he barked out a nervous laugh. "What do you mean that I'm not supposed to sell that version? I just can't retrieve it. He paid for it with cash and a transaction is already done."
Much more so that Lukas was already gone.
