Chapter 329 Be Happy

"OK. Go to sleep." Terrence carefully covered the corner of the comforter for her.

He left a night light for Alexa. Then he left the room softly. Inside the study room, David was sitting

opposite a group of experts.

"Everyone, is there a result?"

Terrence was very calm, so calm that he seemed to be able to bear whatever the result was.

David took out an experimental report and explained the situation in detail.

"The clinical effect of the new medicine is indeed better than our expectations. If we can maintain this

trend, there will be no big problem."

"In other words, it can be completely cured, right?" Terrence asked.

David paused.

"Ten years. We have the confidence to reach this target."

Terrence frowned imperceptibly. The bright light reflected on his face, but it made his expression

gloomy.

For the first time, he took out the only cigarette box from the drawer.

Terrence lit a cigarette, but just held it in his hand and didn't smoke it.

David saw that his heart was heavy and wanted to say a few words of comfort, but Terrence nodded to

them very sincerely.

"Thank you for your hard work. In the next few days, I will have to trouble you all,"

"Don't worry, Mr. Ramsey," they responded.

When David went out, he patted Terrence on the shoulder thoughtfully.

"Don't worry, a miracle will definitely happen."

"Compared to a miracle, I am more willing to believe in modern medicine."

Terrence smiled and seemed to be calm.

David's heart was much heavier.

"My mentor has tried his best to contact the experts in the industry, including Dr. Fleming who has

retired from public life."

Although the medical community had a different opinion of this doctor,

David still believed that it was worth a try.

"Thank you a lot."

Terrence did not say much and personally sent David away.

Then, he stood alone in the court until the smell of the cigarette was completely blown away by the

night snow.

However, when Terrence returned to his room, Alexa was still not asleep.

"Sorry," Alexa smiled. "I can't sleep, so I wanted to wait for you to come back."

"What are you thinking about?" Terrence took the opportunity to sit down beside her bed.

"Nothing."

Alexa's fingertips poked out of the bed and gently tugged at Terrence's sleeve.

"You don't look good. Are you tired?"

"I'm fine."

Alexa tilted her head and looked at the clock by the bed. It was already midnight.

She sighed and didn't know what to say.

"Mr. Ramsey, at this point in time, it doesn't seem suitable to tell such a lie."

Terrence smiled helplessly and immediately gave up.

"Alright," Terrence explained honestly. "I just dealt with some matters in the

company. It was indeed a little tiring."

Not wanting to make Alexa worry, Terrence quickly added.

"But it doesn't matter. I'll go take a bath."

"OK."

Terrence kissed her eyes. "I hope that when I come out, you're already asleep."

He went to the bathroom.

The water temperature was lower than usual. On this quiet winter night, the cool water stimulated his

senses.

But only in this way, the emptiness and panic in his heart that had no origin would be suppressed.

Terrence had been trying his best to endure.

He could not show any uneasiness in front of Alexa.

He could not be afraid, let alone surrender. In just five minutes, Terrence changed into a bathrobe and

went out.

The bed was empty.

Terrence looked around in surprise. At that moment, the lock of the door behind him made a slight

rattle.

Alexa was wearing a cute bunny nightgown. She was carefully carrying a cup of warm milk into the

room.

Seeing Terrence standing in place and staring at her, Alexa said out of curiosity.

"You are so fast."

"If you want milk, just let me know. Are you cold?" Terrence asked.

"I'm not that delicate. Don't think of me as fragile porcelain, okay?" Alexa muttered.

Terrence continued, "OK. But you always don't know how to take care of yourself. How can I not

worry?"

"Alright." Alexa handed the milk to him. "This is prepared for you."

"Me?"

"Yes."

Alexa calmly returned to bed.

She said, "I will supervise you to finish this milk and then rest early. You can get up early tomorrow to

work."

"Yes, Madam."

Alexa couldn't help but laugh, "You only remember to take care of others, but you don't know how to

take care of yourself."

She only served him a glass of milk, and he was so happy.

Alexa felt touched.

However, she immediately lay down on her side to keep Terrence from noticing.

This was the only night Terrence slept soundly in the past half a month.

Even the next morning, he woke up one hour later than usual.

Terrence instinctively reached out to his side, but there was no one there.

He opened his eyes and sat up from the bed without any reluctance.

"Alexa?" Terrence called out tentatively.

Alexa by the door responded, "Did I wake you up?"

When he finished speaking, Alexa appeared in front of him.

Alexa had just gone downstairs to chat with her parents for a while. She had wanted to go upstairs to

sleep, but Terrence had already woken up.

Alexa was a little disappointed.

After all, with such a handsome man sleeping next to her, she had been sleeping well.

Now, Terrence might have to go to the company to work for a whole day.

However, he was not as eager as usual to change his clothes and go out.

Instead, he walked up, embraced her without saying a word, and kissed her gently on the forehead.

"You didn't wake me up." Terrence's magnetic voice was still a little hoarse.

"What are you going to do today?"

"I want to sleep all day."

Alexa held Terrence's waist and leaned her body into his arms.

"Are you going to the company?"

"No," Terrence answered neatly. "I'll stay with you at home."

"Really?" Alexa asked out of curiosity. "Are you sure? Those board members must be gossiping about

you behind your back again."

"The work can be done at home."

Terrence was like a big cat, rubbing his head against the side of her neck greedily.

"As for the board members..."

Terrence paused for a moment.

He said unhurriedly, "They are busy scheming and plotting all day long. They probably won't be able to

experience the happiness of accompanying their family."

Alexa chuckled. Suddenly, she was no longer so worried about him.

"Then can you let me cook today? I've learned a few new dishes recently."

"Of course, you can," Terrence responded. "I just want you to be happy."
