Chapter 231 - Hunting Trip.
Isaac stood in front of the wardrobe while putting the clothes into the hangers.
His bags were getting emptier with each passing minute.
*Creak*
Soon, the door was opened, and once Isaac turned his head, he saw Madison entering with a bag.
Madison showed the bag and said, ''Blankets. If you feel cold, you can use these.''
''Thanks,'' Isaac said and watched as she put the bag down on the floor next to the bed.
He turned his head back and started focusing on unpacking.
After putting the bag down on the floor, Madison turned around to see Isaac unpacking.
She felt melancholic at the scene because it resembled a lot of Maxwell.
Even though Isaac looks vastly different, there are some resemblances between the two.
Soon, Isaac had emptied his bags from the clothes, and only electronic stuff was left.
''What is that?'' Madison pointed at the black box that was slightly peeking through from the bag.
''Ah.'' Isaac took the black box and went to bed, where he put the box gently down.
Madison curiously watched as Isaac slowly opened the box.
Once the box was open, Isaac grabbed the VR Helmet and showed the beauty of the headgear.
''W-Wait, isn't that?'' Madison's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
''Yes, it's Mythical,'' Isaac said while gently touching the sides of the headgear, being very careful, trying not to damage it in any way.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt''Where did you get it?'' Madison asked with shock and leaned closer, so she could see the beautiful headgear closer.
''My father gave it to me,'' Isaac revealed. He thought it would be fine to tell them.
Madison was shocked at the reveal and thought that her son has indeed become a successful man.
In the end, he never needed their protection.
Madison's shoulders slumped after knowing that she wasn't there to witness her son's growth from protected youth to a successful businessman.
Then she remembered the VR Helmet and what it was for.
''Do you play White Online?'' She asked and sat down on the bed.
''Yes'' He replied and put the headgear back in the box.
''Are you planning on getting Legacy?'' She asked curiously while moving her legs forward and back.
Isaac smiled but didn't answer.
He went to the wardrobe and hid the box in there.
It has become routine for him by now.
For some reason, he likes when the VR Helmet was properly hidden and not somewhere visible.
Madison stood up and said, ''If you need anything else, please ask from me— no need to be shy.'' She winked and left the room while humming gently.
Her melodious voice is still echoing in the room.
Isaac closed the door, and after the peace was restored to the room, he took a deep breath and felt overwhelmed at the things he had seen.
The room felt way too large for him, making him feel even lonelier.
''Whew…''
*SMACK!*
Isaac powerfully slapped his cheeks and gathered his courage to keep going.
He went back to the bags and unpacked the electronic items.
Soon, the beautiful desk had a laptop and phone, with the charger connected on the wall plug.
Once he finished unpacking, he moved the bags underneath the bed.
He was done with unpacking, and Isaac used the next five minutes to relax.
After lying on the bed for five minutes, the knocking sound came from the door.
*Knock* *Knock*
''Come in.'' Isaac sat up and watched as the door slowly opened.
From the door, a muscular man came with his usual stoic look.
''You said you wanted to see the bear claws?'' Malcolm asked, ''I was going to my office; if you want to see them, then follow me.'' He left the room and slowly started making his way over to the stairway.
Isaac jumped up on his feet and left his room with hurried steps.
He managed to catch Malcolm once he reached the fourth floor.
The fourth floor was the highest floor in the mansion, and it was also where Malcolm's office was located.
He turned right and walked all the way to the end of the corridor, where the wooden door was located.
He pushed the door open and saw a large office with a desk in the middle and all sorts of the shelves on the walls.
There were also pictures and paintings on the walls, but what caught Isaac's gaze was a glass box that contained very sharp-looking claws that were at least 20cm in length.
Malcolm stopped in front of the glass box and said, ''This is the one.''
Isaac stopped next to him and could almost feel the sharpness of the claws.
He grabbed his neck and wondered how it would feel if he got hit by those in White Online.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe would be lucky to keep his body intact, but it would be very unlikely.
Malcolm was very proud of the achievement, and it was one of the greatest moments in his life.
Next to the glass box, a picture was framed.
It was a picture of a beautiful woman and a handsome man.
The beautiful woman was carrying a baby that was asleep.
The two individuals resembled a lot of Madison and Malcolm, but they were much younger in the picture.
Malcolm glanced at the picture before turning away.
He sat down on the office chair and sighed, ''Maxwell must hate us.''
He looked at Isaac and saw him standing without answering.
''That bad, huh?''
Isaac wryly smiled and nodded.
''Sigh…'' Malcolm sighed, ''Being nobility changed our view of things, and only when we got older did we realize our mistakes, but it was too late by then.''
''It's never too late,'' Isaac said.
''Well… I guess you being here is progress.'' Malcolm chuckled slightly.
He raised his head slightly and looked outside the open door, where the empty corridor was.
After seeing his wife being far away, he asked, ''Do you want to join us on the hunting trip? It can be fun.'' His eyes showed a tinge of hope, and he wanted him to come.
''Really?'' Isaac looked surprised and saw Malcolm nodding.
''Well, if I am not trouble, I would love to.'' Isaac did a slight bow and clenched his fist in celebration.
He really wanted to try a real hunting rifle and see how different it was from the guns he had used in White Online!
Malcolm smiled and nodded, ''And… Don't tell your grandmother, it shall stay a secret.'' He sweatdropped at the thought of Madison finding out.
Isaac nodded but didn't understand why it should stay a secret.
