Chapter 1729: Royal Background

On her way back to the Warner residence, Joyce suddenly received a phone call from Reuben.

Darrin noticed Joyce's phone ringing as he was driving.

"Reuben? What could he want? What role does the Bryant family play in this whole situation? It's strange. They're also connected

to Rohomes. They appeared in Khebury. | don't believe there's no connection between them," Darrin remarked.

Joyce's lips curved slightly. "Since you have doubts, let's see what he wants when he contacts us."

With that, Joyce answered the call.

Reuben's voice sounded somewhat excited. "Joyce, I've seen all the things happening these days in the news. What exactly

happened? Why did Luther suddenly... Are you okay?"

The string of concerns caught Joyce off guard.

"Reuben, | don't think our relationship is at the point where we need to confide in each other. Why do you care? What's it to you?"

Joyce spoke without much politeness, pursing her lips.

"I'm just worried. Joyce, we must meet. I've chosen the Bryant Mansion's villa as the location. I'll be waiting for you," Reuben said

over the phone.

"Didn't you understand what | said? I'm busy. | don't have tto chat with you," Joyce replied, feeling annoyed. She didn't have

tto entertain Reuben.

Moreover, she had no idea what Reuben's purpose was in coming to Pascaylia.

"Don't reject me. | have something important to tell you about OGW," Reuben emphasized.

"I think you might have the information you want," Reuben added.

Joyce was on speakerphone.

At this moment, she and Darrin exchanged glances.

Darrin nodded.

Then Joyce agreed, "Fine. Sendthe location. I'll cover now."

Shortly after, she hung up the phone.

When Reuben sent the address, Darrin glanced at it and immediately changed direction, heading towards the Bryant family's villa.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the villa was hidden among lush trees, creating a tranquil environment, resembling a paradise.

Reuben had been waiting for a while. Grizela stood by his side.

As Joyce and Darrin approached, Grizela tactfully took a few steps back and stood behind Reuben. At the stime, she glanced

at Darrin, a touch of displeasure flashing in her eyes.

Darrin returned her gaze with a stare. Each to their own, he hadn't cto see her on purpose, so why would he put on an

arrogant face for her to see?

Joyce sat in front of Reuben and got straight to the point.

"Why did you askto come? What do you want to say?"

Reuben shrugged. "What's going on with you? Not long ago, you and Luther were fine when we had dinner together. Why did

things suddenly becso chaotic? | saw the news, and it doesn't seem like baseless rumors."

"Explaining it would be too complicated, so | won't bother. Thank you for your concern. These minor matters currently won't affect

my normal life," Joyce replied with a relaxed smile.

Reuben looked at her with a hint of heartache. He had thought Joyce's marriage was happy and fulfilling, but apparently, it wasn't

what he had imagined. If that was the case, he wouldn't mind intervening a bit, as Joyce was truly a woman who deserved to be

treated well for a lifetime.

He suddenly smiled. "I have a suggestion."

Joyce asked, "What is it?"

Reuben looked at Joyce, his narrow eyes lifting as he ruffled his silver hair. "Mr. Warner's scandal has been exposed. If you feel

dissatisfied, if you feel it's unfair, you can choose to have a scandal withintentionally. We can deliberately let people capture us

together. You can use it to get back at Mr. Warner. What do you think? | can go along with whatever you want to do."

Joyce was taken aback. She hadn't expected Reuben to say something like this.

"Are you joking with me? Are you making fun of me?" She turned her head slightly, disbelief evident in her smile.

"No, I'm being serious. Everything | said is genuine," Reuben said with a look of grievance. "Even if you don't need it now, maybe

you'll need it in the future. Don't rush to refuse."

"If you calledto talk about these ridiculous things, then I'm sorry. I'm busy, so I'll leave first," Joyce said, showing sanger

as she gestured to stand up.

"No, no, no. | was joking," Reuben quickly apologized with a smile. "Let's get to the real matter."

"Go ahead. How much do you know about OGW? Why did they reappearin Khebury? What is their purpose?" Joyce asked,

expressing her doubts.

"OGW originated from Rohomes. It didn't cause much trouble a few years ago. But this year, it resurfaced, and it's related to one

thing," Reuben explained. "However, this matter is related to my identity, and | need to keep it confidential for now..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Joyce interrupted him. "Identity? If you're referring to your identity as a Rohomes royal, | don't

think it needs to be kept a secret anymore."
