Chapter 1120

Patrick snorted. ’How is that the same?" ''Well be losing our own money if we mess up," Cordy said.

Before Patrick could argue, Cordy said sternly, "It's our money now. There used to be little losses on

our respective accounts, but losing together would mean losing big."

Patrick was almost convinced, and Cordy added, "We shouldn't bankrupt ourselves just because we're

in a relationship."

"Then... promise me to video call me every day?"

"I promise." Cordy nodded.

"When are you leaving?"

' Right now."

"Cordy." Patrick huffed—could she not keep him company a little longer?

How could she leave when he just got discharged today?

"I need to take part in this meeting at my company. There are details that I can't elaborate precisely

through a video conference."

"You at least have to eat, right?"

Cordy gave in. "Fine. I'll leave after lunch."

After lunch, Cordy left in a hurry since she could not afford any delays.

Sean took her to the airport, and she said gratefully, "I'm counting on you to take care of Dicky and

Patrick. I'll try to come back as soon as I can."

"Don't feel pressured. Just leave it to me."

“Okay. I'm going now."

“Call me when you reach North City."

“Okay.”

Cordy stepped through the checkpoint for first class, checking in.

Someone soon arrived at the seat next to hers just as she sat down, and Cordy turned to look.

She then paused, noticing the weirdness about the man beside her.

Still, they both kept quiet and said nothing as if they were strangers.

That being said, Cordy did not expect to run into John here of all places.

Should he not be at the hospital? When did he get discharged?

And why was he heading to North City? Where was Richard?

Now that she thought of her son, she remembered what Richard told her today, about John trying to

meet her on purpose...

But that was impossible.

She did not even have time to tell Richard that she was leaving the capital to head to North City.

Likewise, she did not believe that Sean and Patrick would tell John.

So, it was just a coincidence.

"Wasn't Dicky with you?" Cordy eventually could not resist asking.

John did a double take, but there was no way he could board the flight wrapped like a mummy.

He took off his bandages, face mask, cap, and sunglasses, which he had worn to keep his disfigured

face tightly under wraps.

He certainly drew many curious stairs when he boarded the flight-not because of his weird getup or

hideous face, but because many presumed him to be some celebrity keeping themselves heavily

disguised.

As such, it never crossed his mind that Cordy recognized him.

He could clearly see it-Cordy glanced at him for just a split second before turning back to her

magazine.

He pursed his lips and calmly said, "Sean's people sent him home after he had lunch with me. I thought

you'll be staying at Cranston Hall."
