Chapter 321
It was not until the next day when Zoe opened her eyes with a headsplitting headache.
She quickly remembered having another person landing on top of her and the unbearable agony
afterward before blacking out.
She wondered how hurt she was and how her stunt double was doing.
At the same time, all she felt was a sense of feebleness.
'You're awake," a familiar man's voice spoke beside her just then.
As Zoe turned to find Jay, she frowned-the one she never wanted to see always seemed to show up!
Still, this was a huge deal. So where were her parents?

Could they have gone home exhausted after keeping her company the entire night?
She looked around to see that her ward was rather crude, and she wondered why she was arranged to
stay at a place like this just then.
'Didn't you tell my parents that I was hurt?” she asked Jay, her feeble and upset.
Did he hide this because she did not want the family to scold him?
Could he get even more selfish? What if she actually died?!
Jay did not respond and simply asked, "Does it hurt anywhere?'
'I don't need your feigned sincerity, Jay. Let me give it to you straight-you can't hide this accident even if
you had control over the film set. I won't hide this from my parents, let alone my grandfather!"
Zoe was determined-she would never lie for Jay's sake.
Jay, however, simply changed the subject. "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat?"
Zoe did not respond and tried to get up, intent on calling her parents instead of wasting her breath with
Jay.
Jay quickly stopped her. "Don't move. Your liver ruptured from the collision, and the doctor was
suggesting bed rest for a week."
"Don't touch me!" Zoe spat as hard as she could.
Jay's hands slowly released her then, and Zoe stopped struggling-it was obvious she was not getting
out of bed after her attempt just now.
'I'll adjust your bed so that you can sit up," he told her.

Jay did not seem to mind her bad temper, but Zoe was not surprised.
He always had been calm and unfettered even as a child, not to mention that he had a responsibility for
this incident. It only made sense that he felt guilty.
He then said, "The doctor said that you should eat something with less flavor once you wake up-"
The door to the ward suddenly opened, and they watched as Nancy entered.
Curiously, however, John was with her, not Ivan.
Still, Zoe cheered up as soon as she saw them.
’Mom," she called out to Nancy sweetly.
Nancy, however, was glowering and not responding at all.
Zoe thought she was just worried about her after what happened and quickly tried to cheer her up. "I'm
fine now, Mom. I just can't walk at the moment, but I'm never better. Just calm down-l'll be more careful
next time."
