Chapter 327
John was not stingy with his praise. "That's very smart."
Cordy blushed for some reason, feeling as if John was treating her like a kid just then, and she was not
used to talking to him like this.
Changing the subject, she said, "You told me over the phone you'd tell me about Zoe. So?"
John scowled slightly, but said, "I didn't want to tell you because you can't even protect yourself right
now, but I'd never dare hide it from you."
Cordy bit her lip, a little speechless from the way he used 'never dare'.
He really was petty.
"Anyway, Zoe had an accident at the film set last night, and she's at the hospital right now..."

"Don't worry. She's safe although it was a little serious, just a little liver rupture causing massive
bleeding. She has since regained consciousness, and she'll be discharged in a week."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Cordy exclaimed a little angrily just then. "I could keep her company at the
hospital."
She certainly remembered that Zoe had always been an earnest friend, showering her with all the
kindness and affection she could give.
How could she do nothing now that Zoe was in trouble?!
But despite her rising indignation, John quickly told her to calm down." There's no rush-let me finish.
Because of said massive bleeding, my family found out that her blood type is AB.'
"So?" Cordy frowned.
"My aunt and uncle both have type A blood."
Cordy's heart skipped a beat.
She certainly understood what that meant, and she was left staring at John in disbelief.
With that, John told her everything that happened last night, confirming her hunch.
Cordy was left silent for a long while—she could only wonder how terrible Zoe would be feeling after
finding out about her true roots.
"I'm going to the hospital," she said without hesitation, getting to her feet right then.
"Cordy." John caught her wrist, and she wheeled on her with anger in her eyes.
Even so, he said, "It's better if you didn't go right now."
"You're planning to abandon Zoe, aren't you?" Cordy asked.
She actually had a hunch—in John's perspective, he had no reason to help Zoe since Nancy was an

Even so, Zoe was a person, not some object.
And people have feelings!
Zoe had been with the Levines for years and loved John to bits.
Did he not feel sympathy at all?!
John stated his perspective just then, "Right now, my aunt is still very much upset, and the conflict
would only escalate if I helped Zoe right now. The best solution is to let the situation cool off until my
aunt calms down to better resolve the issue. At the very least, I won't allow Zoe to lose everything."
"That's your own arrangement-do whatever you want," Cordy said, unable to care any less. "You have
no right to stop me from meeting Zoe."
"I admit that this is selfish of me, but I don't want my aunt to consider you an enemy," John explained.
"Right now, she isn't letting anyone near Zoe or any form of assistance get to Zoe. If you see Zoe now,
your situation would only get worse, especially with your trial coming up."
