He knew that the safest place in such a colossal storm was in the eye of it.

With the Stillwind Orb in hand, the spirit ship continued to sail forward, quickly passing through the storm's edge.
When they reached the eye of the storm, all signs of the natural chaps vanished. The area was calm and peaceful, though the raging storm continued to howl around them. Indeed, the eye of this massive storm was safe and incredibly peaceful! However, the sea was filled with countless corpses of demon beasts, all of which had been torn apart by the storm.
"We're safe for now. If anyone wants beast cores, feel free to retrieve them," Kai said to the group.
