The outlooker’s chamber had two unconscious bodies and one threatening one. That was the scene the hooded figure came across once she entered the room.
“Violence is not the option. Did you kill them?”
The hooded figure asked. Although her words sounded kind and compassionate, they held a mocking tone in them as well.
“Don’t be absurd. She will not die that easily, nor will she let her companion die that easily. She was chosen by the abyss so I believe she will overcome this.”
The blue-haired man did not sound like he had any confidence in his words. It felt like he was repeating the words he had often spoken.
The green-haired woman looked delighted to hear those words. She even let out a chuckle before she looked toward the blue-haired man.
“I suppose she will live. But what about the red-head? She’ll surely die if she remains in her present condition since her magic is going out of control. Won’t it be irresponsible of us to let her die?”
“I don’t want to hear about irresponsibility from you, Zoe. You left your chamber without prior notice so expect to be punished for it. Also, don’t think that your little experiments with that wrenched goddess are going unseen. The others are catching on to your plots.”
The green-haired girl’s happy expression faded into an indifferent one at the man’s words. Her yellow pupils held no light inside them when she looked toward the blue-haired man.
“Just because you are the leader of the outlookers and closest to the one controlling the abyss doesn’t mean your threats will work on me. Your hands are just as tied as ours so don’t act all high and mighty.”
“Also, let go of your past attachments. Your days as a human are long over. You are one of us now so do think over your actions carefully.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Are you threatening me?”
“No. It’s just some advice from me. I may be younger than you but I’ve still been alive for a long time.”
From an outside perspective, it looked like a fight was going to break out any second. The two figures inside the chamber looked ready to duke it out and even their magic was seizing each other up.
However, before things could come to it, Zoe backed down. Her indifference faded from her eyes and a fake amusement overtook its place.
“Well, with that being said. I think we should take our leave now. Someone is headed this way to get our guests out to safety. It won’t do well for us to be seen with them.”
From the blue-haired man’s face, it was clear that he wanted to speak more. But the hurried footsteps were coming closer.
The time to talk was over already.
“Do as you wish.”
The man left without any other parting words and the green-haired woman let out an amused smile.
Things were progressing better than she could have ever expected. And now, things were starting to fall in place.
The things she had sacrificed to set this bord for her lady had not been in vain. Hopefully, this would go well this time around.
Zoe hung out in her chamber just long enough to see a black-haired figure kneeling in front of the two damaged bodies.
As soon as she knew that the injured parties were in safe hands she left the chamber.
===========================
Aurora felt the consciousness come and go out in intervals. Many times she felt like she was awake but her body could not move.
It was a constant struggle for her to fight against her mind and wake up.
But when she finally did wake up, it was to the shining view outside the window. Sun had risen high in the sky and there was not even a single dark cloud in sight.
The garden that Auror could view from her bedside window was also in full bloom. Various colored flowers filled the landscape from top to bottom.
It was a perfect view for someone who had only seen white for some time now.
“Y-You are awake? Y-Your awake this time?”
Aurora’s eyes snapped from the outside garden to Rita’s familiar face. The ref-haired girl looked better than the last time Aurora had seen her.
Her face was still pale and her eyes had dark bags underneath them but she looked relatively healthy otherwise.
The only difference Aurora could make out about her appearance was her hair.
“You cut your hair. When did you do that?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAurora’s voice came out more hoarse than she had expected it to. It also hurt to speak and she massaged her muscles to ease the pain.
“My hair? It’s been like this ever since a month ago. The doctors decided to cut it shorter to make my wounds more accessible. You’ve been asleep since then as well.”
A month? Really?
A month was a long time for one to fall asleep like that. The news of her long sleep was surprising for sure.
But for some reason, Aurora could not find it in herself to be worried. Her emotions felt a little dulled out but she was sure it was because she had just woken up.
“Wait, a month? What happened to the academy? A-And the management? Who’s taking care of all that? Where are we currently at?”
Now that her brain had caught up, a variety of questions popped inside Aurora’s mind. She had not realized she had missed this much during her sleep.
“C-Calm down or you’ll worsen your condition. We were escorted back to the academy once things calmed down and this place had Rex taking care of it so the academy opened without any problems.”
“As for what happened in the Northern Republic? I think you should hear the news from Natasha’s mouth. She will be able to convey this to you in a better manner than I. I send her a message just now.”
Aurora felt her breath ease when she heard Rita mention Natasha. It looked like the princess had gotten out of the danger zone without a problem.
The door was knocked on twice before it finally opened. A black-haired beauty entered the room with her cold blue eyes.
The figure that stood in front of Aurora was the same one that had been eclipsed by icy prison. But the magic and aura she gave off belonged to the small girl Aurora had rescued not too long ago.
There were many questions Aurora could have asked in that situation. But there was only one that escaped her mouth.
“Natasha, have you grown up? You look like an adult now.”
An awkward silence followed her words.
