“He escaped?” Slater says, and my stomach sinks, knowing exactly what Leo is capable of.
“Oh, thank god.” Slater murmurs a spring in his step before he rushes off into the tunnel while Corbin turns to Kingsley. “Once he
gets here, we need to proceed, go get the others.” he tells Kingsley.
“Why? Has something happened.”
“Yes, Thane is on his way. Leo came to warn us. He said he had to jump from the car. Grab the first aid kit too. I’m not sure what
condition he’ll be in.” Kingsley nods, his head darting off. While Corbin actually looks concerned that Thane was near, and he
should be.
Thane petrified me, and he was my mate, he actually liked me, so I would hate to be one of his enemies and on his hit list. My
heart races when I see Corbin start stalking toward me, and I shuffle back, my back hitting one of the bookshelves. “Either come
willingly, Love, or I will command you.” Corbin purrs, reaching for me. I shake my head and Talon growls at him.
“Corbin, just give up. You’re screwed. Leave her be.” Talon growls and Corbin smirks and bends down, gripping my arms, yet the
moment he does he chokes. And sputters and staggers back. I press back
against the bookcase as he stands upright. A brown handle protruding from his stomach, the same brown handle I saw
protruding from Talon. I blink as his shirt turns red, staining with his blood. Corbin growls pulling the blade out, and before I felt
what he did before I saw it. Blood sprayed across my face, and Bree roared as Corbin slashed Talon’s throat.
“No!” I cry out when Corbin rips the knife out again before stabbing him in a frenzy. Blood sprays everywhere, drenching and
coating me. Talon’s eyes bulge from his head when his hand knocks mine. I grip it, his eyes staring into mine. I could hardly see
his face, they blurred that much through my tears.
I flinch each time the knife is plunged into him Talon chokes and I jump, my hands shaking, before closing my eyes when I see

let Talon’s hand go, tucking my knees to my chest, wishing I could unsee what I just witnessed. Blood was everywhere. Coating
Corbin’s arms, chest face, soaking into the floor in a huge puddle. Blood spatter covered me and I hug my knees, trying to calm
myself down.
Corbin, fed up with trying to restrain Bree, turns and glares at her, punching into him and attacking him. She has no effect on
him, and she might as well be a small child for all the reaction she got from him. One punch, and she went down like a sack of
potatoes.
“Well, well, what have we got here.” Leo’s voice says, and Corbin spins. A huge grin splitting onto his face as Leo appears
coming through the door. Leo is completely naked, covered in blood.
Corbin instantly embraces him before kissing him. Tears prick my eyes as Talon’s blood pools on the floor, coating my legs and
hands where I sat frozen in shock. He killed him. Talon died trying to help me. He is dead. How was I going to tell Leon, his
cousin died for me.
I jerk my hand away as his blood covers my fingers, and a whimper escapes me, sending everyone’s attention to me. “How did
you escape?” Corbin questions.
“They left the door unlocked, they didn’t realize I am crazy enough to try it, I jumped from the car. Fucking hurt. Damn near
skinned me alive.” Leo tells him, looking down at his body, but what ever injuries he had were now healed. Corbin cocks his head
“Where?” Corbin questions.
Leo shrugs. “On the bend at the bottom of the mountain, I shifted and ran the rest of the way.
Come across a few rogues too.”
“They didn’t try to catch you?” Corbin presses, his aura slipping out and testing him.
“Yes, Thane, Rhen and Raidon gave chase before giving up. But Corbin, we need to get out of here. Authorities are everywhere,
they have all the entrances surrounded, even been sending drones in to watch. We can’t stay here, we need to take her and
run.” Leo informs him, and tears prick my eyes at his betrayal.
Corbin exhales but shakes his head. “No, we need to get this over with. Grab her.” www.alaniniz.com He tells Leo. Leo glances
at me, a smile moving onto his face. His eyes flicker, “My pleasure,” Leo purrs, stalking toward me, and I shake my head and
slap his reaching hands away. “Don’t touch me!” I snap at him.
“Oh, baby, don’t be like that, we are about to rock your world.” He taunts, his voice mocking, before he grips my arms. I thrash,
but he presses me against the bookcase. “Watch it, she fucking bites!” Corbin tells him.
Leo glances over his shoulder at him before looking back at me. He gnashes his teeth next to my face. ” So do I, and I can’t wait
to take a bite out of you.” he purrs. He presses his body against mine.
“Bite her in the room, bite every part of her for all I care. I just want her marked, then you can have your fun with her.” Corbin tells
him.
“Den?” Leo asks and I see Corbin nod his head. Leo’s grip tightens on my arms and I thrash, kicking and trying to rip my arms
from his grip, he tosses me over his shoulder and then smacks my ass before rubbing it with his palm.
