That night, they walked for a long tand sat in a cafe for a while before they parted in the end.
Along the way, Victoria's emotions were complex, and her heart heavy.
When she went upstairs, she felt exhausted as if she had gone through a great battle. She walked out of the elevator dejectedly. She couldn't help sighing and taking a long breath. She rummaged through her bag as usual for the key as she walked. Her mind had already wandered thousands of miles away.
She was swinging the keys, and as soon as she stood still, a pair of glittering black leather shoes cinto her sight all of a sudden. Her sight went along the suit pants and the relaxed posture as she looked up. Amidst the smoke, she saw a gloomy and dark face in front of her. She leaned to one side and stepped back instinctively with her heart pounding wildly.
"You?" Trevor? Why was he there? She swallowed her saliva subconsciously. She took out her phone from her bag and clicked on two unread messages from Anthony asking if she had arrived home. He asked her to give him a reply once she reached home! In disbelief, she returned to the main page and scrolled through it over again. No missed calls, no messages? Then why didn't he say anything before coming over? She didn't know if she was afraid or guilty, but she panicked at that moment.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe had never seen that version of him before. It was unusual. There was a cigarette in his hand and cigarette butts beside his feet. He was not like his usual self. With her eyebrows slightly lifted, Victoria was really not used to that.
"What's wrong with you? Did... something happen?" She subconsciously held her breath as she opened her mouth to speak timidly. The way he was, rather than confusing, he was more frightening! Her sudden words stopped Trevor from saying what he wanted to say.
Narrowing his eyes, he inspected her up and down.
Not knowing what was going on, she also lowered her head, but what she saw was even more cigarette butts on the ground that he had crushed. Turning around, she leaned to the side and opened the door, "Ahem, ahem..." He leaned against the doorframe. The thick smoke was somewhat suffocating, and she subconsciously waved her hand. Almost at the stime, Trevor moved the cigarette butt away, threw it on the floor, and put it out. He wasn't much of a smoker, but tonight, he was so annoyed that he couldn't feel rest assured at all.
While he was still absent-minded, Victoria had taken out a broom and cleaned up the garbage he had made in front of the door, preparing a pair of disposable slippers for him at the entrance of the door. Just like in his memory, she had mysophobia! Unexpectedly, she didn't close the door, nor did she drive him away.
Since it was disposable slippers, it meant that there should be no male necessities in her house! With the sudden realization, he felt a little better.
After a moment of silence, he changed his shoes and walked in, sitting down on the sofa and rubbing his swollen forehead.
Thinking that something wrong had happened to him, Victoria was considerate to pour him a cup of hot water. As soon as she approached him, she smelled the strong smell of alcohol from him. When she saw that he was pulling his tie, she could not help but be more sure.
"Do you feel uncomfortable? Do you want a glass of warm milk to reduce the effects of the alcohol?" A gentle voice suddenly sounded, and the heat from the cup of hot water flowed like a current straight to his heart.
Suddenly, Trevor's heart trembled for no reason, and his gaze was dull when he looked at the cup in his hand. "Hey, did you hear me?" The little hand waved in front of his eyes. Seeing that his cheeks were carrying a faint reddish glow, she subconsciously reached out to feel his forehead. She then reached out to touch her own, muttering. "I... don't think you have a fever!" Looking at her adorable movements, Trevor felt that his forehead was still slightly cold from her touch. At that moment, his heart seemed to be filled with a raging wave, and he was suddenly overwhelmed by an indescribable emotion.
As the emotions were surging in his eyes, a strong impulse in his bones seemed to break free, and he couldn't hold it back at all. At this time, the sound of a phone ringing broke the silence. Victoria quickly took the phone and walked to a corner on the side. Seeing that it was Anthony who had called, she subconsciously walked to the balcony and lowered her voice.
"Yes, I'm already back!" She didn't dare say more. After exchanging a few pleasantries, she said, "I am a little tired. Let's talk about it next time!" It was not a perfunctory reply. Presently, stuck between the two of them, she was shackled between two mountains. The pressure then was not an ordinary one.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe needed space, needed to breathe and the freedom to think! "Good night!" After hanging up the phone and looking at the night sky outside the window, she couldn't help shuddering and sighed.
She turned around. Just as she was about to return to her room, someone hugged her. In the next second, a black shadow descended, and she was pressed against the wall, Under the dim light, a pair of blue-black eyes of a soul gleamed as if they had seen prey. It was as if he was about to swallow her whole.
A moment of silence.
There was a flash of shock in her big eyes.
Victoria's small mouth was slightly agape due to astonishment. Just then, he seemed like a walking dead. How did he suddenly cback to life? If she had known that it would be that scary, she wouldn't have let him enter! While her heart was thumping, a warm big palm reached to hold her cheek, "What did you do at night?" Trevor's voice was soft and gentle, but there was no warmth in it! Her heart suddenly shrank, and she clearly sensed a dangerous aura. She could not push him away. Her beautiful eyes blinked, and her lips slightly squirmed.
"What?" Why did he ask about that? Did he beccurious as he waited for a long time, or did he know something? Should she answer his questions truthfully? She struggled to move, and the face in front of her seemed to beccolder, "I gave you tto... to go on a secret date behind my back?"
The gloomy voice seemed to cfrom hell, and there was a bang in her head. Victoria suddenly understood why he was acting abnormally. He really knew her whereabouts that night! Unconsciously, her eyes widened, and she thought to herself, "Did he clooking forto teacha lesson?" She shouldn't have been merciful to him and let him enter! Just as she was annoyed and regretful, kisses fell down on her. In the blink of an eye, she was in a terrible situation...
When she cback to her senses, the two of them had already made their way into the room. They m seemed to have only one last step away. Victoria screamed as she pushed him, remorseful. "Two days! Two days! Do you want to break your promise again? Trevor, you smelly rogue! Beast! You're a liar!" If she had known that would happen, she wouldn't have let him in! She really had just brought a wolf into her house!
Fury surged. As if she had the meagre power of a small wildcat, Victoria scratched him. Almost stthe knot that was entangled in her heart untied. She at the made the decision. He helped her make the most difficult decision in her heart. "Are you a man or not? All you know is how to... bullyin this way! I hate you so much!" His thoughtful gaze paused for two seconds. Then, Trevor turned to her and held her tightly in his arms, but he didn't do anything else...
