Chapter 806

After Rachel went out, she walked straight to the next room and knocked on the door.

After a while, the door opened. Chris stood in front of Rachel and called out respectfully, “Miss Grey, hello.”

Rachel was stunned for a moment before walking in.

Initially, Rachel thought that there were only Billy and Eddie in the room. Although Chris’s appearance surprised

Rachel, it was reasonable.

However, to her surprise, Christopher was also there.

“Rachel, we meet again” Christopher, who was sitting on the sofa, waved at Rachel.

Rachel ignored Christopher and looked at Eddie. “Where’s the first aid kit?”

Hearing this, Eddie quickly walked to the side. “Here.”

As soon as Eddie walked away, the table behind him was naturally exposed to Rachel’s vision.

Hence, Rachel clearly saw the few people in the room setting up a private bet

It was not a traditional bet on the big or the small, but on the combat strength of David.

Seeing that Rachel’s gaze was fixed on the table, the people in front of her were a little embarrassed and at a loss.

Just as the atmosphere became awkward, Christopher clicked his tongue with a hint of schadenfreude. He

lamented, “David’s combat ability is not good. To think that I bet for 40 minutes”

Rachel was speechless.

Christopher was wearing a striped suit and had a refined and serious attitude. Unexpectedly, the moment he spoke,

Rachel’s impression of him was greatly reduced.

After Rachel took the first aid kit, she turned around and left without looking back.

When Rache returned to her room, she saw David playing with the box that Cesar had given her previously. Her

eyes flashed slightly as she stepped forward and casually placed the things on the table. She began to treat David’s

wound.

Rachel used a pair of scissors to cut open the gauze wrapped around the man’s chest. The bloody wound was

gradually exposed to her.

The wound was on the left side of David’s chest, and the dense sutures landed on his skin. It was like a multi–legged

centipede lying on it, making Rachel’s heart tighten inexplicably.

Because David’s wound had been torn open, the flesh on his wound had turned outwards and was dripping with

blood. It was a shocking sight.

Rachel’s heart seemed to be grabbed by something. Her breathing paused, and the corners of his eyes could not

help but turn red.

Rachel took a deep breath and adjusted the fluctuations in her heart. Then, she took out gauze and disinfectant

from the first aid kit and helped David disinfect the wound.

“It hurts a little. Bear with it.”

It was a simple sentence, but there was an uncontrollable tremble in every word.

After everything was done, Rachel wrapped the gauze around David’s body.

Throughout the entire process, Rachel did not say a word. Her lips were tightly pursed, but there was an

indescribable heartache in the depths of her eyes.

Rachel’s lips moved slightly, and her cold voice was hoarse with heartache. “Your wound has been torn too often.

You have to be careful, or else…”

Before Rachel could finish. David suddenly kissed her lips, forcing her to swallow her unfinished words.

After some time, the man pressed his forehead against hers.

Suppressing his restlessness and desire, David stared at Rachel with dark eyes. “Why do you feel that you’re only

worthy of hiding behind me cowardly and not worthy of walking side by side with you?”

Hearing this, Rachel slowly raised her eyes and looked at David.

Rachel’s calm gaze reminded David of their confrontation last night. It made David inexplicably afraid.

David did not give Rachel a chance to speak. He spoke first. “I’ve never seen you as a weak existence. I can be your

confidence or your armor. No matter what, it’s up to you.”

If the sky collapsed, David would carry it.

Rachel looked at David and did not respond for a long time.

David frowned slightly. His eyes were filled with curiosity. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”

Rachel pursed her lips. After a long while, she said, “I was just angry. You don’t have to take it seriously.”

“Are you just saying it out of anger?” David grabbed Rachel’s chin and pressed his handsome face against hers.

“Are you sure you didn’t keep it in your heart for a long time and take this opportunity to vent it?”

Their eyes met. The man’s bottomless black eyes made Rachel feel a sense of oppression from the bottom of her

heart. His abnormally sharp gaze seemed to be able to see through her soul, leaving her nowhere to escape.

Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and she raised her hand to flick her hair, avoiding his sharp gaze unobtrusively.

David’s black eyes stared at her without blinking, not letting go of the slightest change in her expression.

Rachel probably didn’t know what to do under his gaze. He sighed helplessly. “Your hiding from me and making

decisions for me will affect me.”

“But this does not mean that I despise you and think that you are weak.” David said seriously. “No matter how

capable you are, you are still a woman and my fiancee. Therefore, whether you are a man or your fiance, I have

the right to protect you. Do you understand?”

Whether he hid it or made the decision for Rachel without permission, he simply did not want to see Rachel suffer

any harm.

“Because you’re strong. I forgot to protect you. This is something I can never accept. So, it’s not that I don’t want

you to accompany me, nor am I depriving you of your rights. It’s just that I don’t dare to use you to take risks. I

can’t bear the consequences.”

She was his weakness and also his armor.

How could he allow anything to happen to her?

Hearing his words, Rachel could not help but fall silent..

This was the first time Rachel had heard David say this. It was also the first time she had heard David analyze her

inner thoughts so seriously.

However, what touched Rachel the most was the last sentence. He couldn’t bear the consequences.

It was not that David was afraid of bearing it, but that he would definitely not be able to bear it.

At that moment, Rachel did not want to say anything. She only wanted to use all her strength to hug the man in

front of her.

And Rachel had indeed taken action.

Rachel buried her head in the man’s neck and greedily breathed in his unique scent.

David could not help but be stunned by Rachel’s initiative.

A hint of a smile appeared at the corner of his eyes. David reached out and caressed her thin back, like the warmth

from at boyfriend or the comfort for a child.

The next second, David’s half–smiling voice sounded in Rachel’s ear. “Now, let’s move on to the next question.”

Rachel was totally shocked.

What was the situation?

Tonight was not a reconciliation but a reckoning.

“What? What’s the problem?” Rachel slowly let go of his neck and leaned back, trying to create a safe distance

between the

two of them.

David raised his eyebrows slightly and quietly observed Rachel’s small actions. “Explain to me what it means to

have the right to protect your privacy and not want outsiders to know. I’m an outsider? Hmm?”
