Chapter 859 Chapter 859 360

"Welcome to our daily dose of WBF excitement! Tonight we're going to see if the Los Pecados Wolverines could rise up to the challenge or fall to their final test of reaching the playoffs.

They would need to win at least 11 straight games to do that starting in this game or else the team would once again end in a disappointing season."

A basketball game announcer began to do his part.

"I doubt that that would happen, Ray. I heard that the Los Pecados Wolverines and their management has specifically hired an untested fixer to do their job for them.

His name is Sean Evans which I'm sure you're well aware already since the boy had his stage of infamy in the last few weeks or so. They gave him a 10 day contact to stay in the team.

Would you ducking believe that?!" Another announcer said in reply.

"Sean Evans?! Oh wow oh wow! Just when i thought that i would be in for another boring night. That name has surely made me excited for what is to come later, Bill.

A player who could shoot 300 consecutive 3 point shots, if the video was real and all, would be something to look out for indeed.

Like me, I'm absolutely certain that our sports fans all over the globe would definitely not miss this game for anything else in the world!" Ray added enthusiastically.

"I agree. I bet they wouldn't. I'm also very much pumped up to see the boy Sean Evans play on the court." Bill said with a big smile on his face.

"DING!" The first whistle of the night rang and it was game time.

"Well... this was not what i expected at all." Ray stated after the 2nd quarter of the game was already over.

From start to this moment, Sean Evans remained hot on his seat and did not stand up one second from that comfortable perch.

"Same here. I would want for our boy Sean Evans to have his immediate shine on the spotlight but i guess i was hoping for something unreal in the first place.

No coach in their right minds would allow such a newbie who's barely into his 18 years of age play in the most important night of their season. This is a do or die game for them.

Sean Evans who got no chemistry or history with the members would duck their play up in a heartbeat. If i were coach Bob, i can't say that i wouldn't do the same thing."

Bill made his opinion known.

"I think you have a good point right there, Bill.

Even the best player on the planet who has singlehandedly dominated this league for almost 2 decades could not defeat Father Time in the end. Luis Bell Jackson is already old."

Ray said sadly.

"DING!" The third quarter of the game came and went to the tally of history but our very own protagonist has yet to make an official appearance in the game.

Time passed unimpeded until it was only 5 minutes and 36 seconds until the end of the game.

"Sean, come here." Coach Bob said at a wise timeout.

The score was already 90 – 125 in the favor of the other team and so it would be pointless to remain stubborn amidst this great adversity.

His most valuable player in the team Luis Bell Jackson had gotten this boy signed in the team and pleaded him to let the boy play.

Alas, Coach Bob had had his fill on his best player's manipulation in the team.

He was much aware that they were in this very situation because of Luis Bell Jackson's tinkering in trading players left and right in the off season.

Since no big names would join them, they only got popular names in a bygone era that were already rather old and were playing on borrowed time like Luis Bell Jackson himself.

Fortunately enough, Coach Bob was also wise enough to mend bridges before it completely collapses on them all.

This was the reason why he called Sean Evans and render him a chance to take the stage.

"What's up, coach?" Our bored gamer asked. Although he was already standing in attention but he appeared like a twig and a vulnerable dwarf in comparison to all the people around him.

Even Coach Bob has towered him down with a few inches to spare and more.

"Go in and sub for Justin. Make your time count in there. This may be the last significant game that you'll ever play in the season." Coach Bob said.

"Don't worry, coach. I'll win this game for us." Clark promised. Truth be told, he was extremely animated to have this experience tonight.

He deemed it much better than attaining a nonstop cultivation enlightenment for 1 trillion years and beyond.

"Arrogant just like someone i know." Coach Bob muttered as he looked at the thin back of the new player on the team.

"DING!" A sharp whistle echoed which marked the continuation of the game.

"BANG!" A violent dunk raged on the other side of the court.

"...and the Legendary Minutemen has widened the gap by 37! I can't see any silver lining at all for the Los Pecados Wolverines. They seemed disoriented and lost."

The announcer Ray spoke in the ears of millions worldwide.

...

The game continued until the 4th minute mark.

"Fuck me." Clark could not help but shook his head. He was already running back and forth for almost 2 minutes straight and he had yet to touch the ball for the first time.

It was clear that his teammates weren't really teammates in the truest sense of the word. They never passed him the ball at all.

"If that is their game then they should not blame me if i act the same in reply also."

Our avid gamer grinned and planned to be active rather than sulk in negativity upon things that he could never change.

"WHOOSH!" A player from the Legendary Minutemen dawdled to waste his 24 second shot clock but was surprised to see a figure from the back. It was all too late before he could react.

"BOOM!" He was just in time to witness an impressive 360 slam dunk.

"What the duck did we just see?!" Ray and Bill spoke in unison.
