Nina did not want him to feel guilty. He had already done everything he could for her.
Life was unpredictable, and she had accepted it with a calm heart. She just hoped he would not carry too much burden.
Hearing her words, Nash felt even more helpless. He could save everyone else, but he couldn't save her, and that feeling of powerlessness was overwhelming.
He didn't want her to see his tear-filled eyes, so he hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead, trying to alleviate his own pressure and pain.
He wished he could bear her pain, even if it meant suffering twice as much.
Nina was gently placed on the hospital bed, holding Nash's hand to give him and herself the strength to carry on.
She was determined to survive. She would survive.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSoon, Wilfred arrived. This was a hospital that Nash had invested in, equipped with the most advanced facilities. But Nash knew that only Wilfred could save Nina, so he did not let the doctors in, waiting instead for Wilfred's arrival.
"How is she?" Wilfred asked.
Nash explained, "She's sweating all over, says it hurts but doesn't know where. There are bruises on her arms." Wilfred entered the sterile room, donning a fresh lab coat, mask, and gloves. Nina lay on the bed, dazed, her face covered in cold sweat. Her lips were pale, and her face devoid of any color.
After examining her, Wilfred confirmed that the poison was still in her system. The so-called antidote was just a test sample.
They had all hoped that Seth had the real antidote, given his proximity to Pharaoh. But their hopes were dashed. All their efforts and intricate plans had cto nothing.
Wilfred drew a vial of Nina's blood. Even though the antidote was just a test sample, it had had a temporary effect, which meant there was still a sliver of hope.
They could not rely on others to develop an antidote. They had to do it themselves.
The best immediate solution was to use his own blood to sustain Nina.
Without hesitation, Wilfred reopened an old wound, adding a new one. He transfused his blood into Nina, stabilizing her condition. Afterward, he skillfully bandaged his wound with one hand, a task he had perfected over time.
As he turned to get a blanket for Nina, he felt a wave of dizziness. He steadied himself, glanced at the line of blood on his arm, and furrowed his brows slightly.
Hiding everything under his sleeve, he composed himself and stepped out.
"She should be fine now," Wilfred reassured them.
"That's great news!" everyone in the room rejoiced at Nina's escape from danger.
Nash looked at Wilfred, relieved that Nina was safe for now, but aware of the cost to Wilfred. His expression turned serious as he dismissed the others, "You can all go now.
"Captain, don't we need to stay and watch over her?" one of them asked.
"No need. I'm here," Nash said calmly.

Wilfred was taken aback, having never considered this. He saw Nina ve this.

"Don't tell her," Wilfred insisted.
"If you're in danger, she will find out," Nash replied.
Wilfred smiled faintly, resigned to his fate, "I die so easily. But i I do, just tell her I died of an illness." Nash frowned deeply at his words.
