"Kaia?" His eyes continue to search mine for ssort of sign that this was surely a wind up.

standing up and offering to make us sdrinks. "What happened?" He asks me, running his hands through his

"Fell...from the cliff tops?.... You did love the cliff tops." He scoffs at first before sighing out.

"It's complicated. | was going to be sworn into the Nightshade Reformed pack but then Alora arrived and well
everything kind of changed."

Samson's chest buffs out as he turns to Riley not phased, not threatened at all.

have private things to discuss with you. Things that are vital for the Nightshade Reformed pack." He turns to me,
his eyes givinga pointed look. "Really?"

"Even so, | would be happier knowing it was said in private. Please Kaia." His plea seemed genuine, something
he didn't want to share to anyone else but me.
"Riley.." I sigh out, knowing he would be against this.
"Luna, no." Riley tries to keep his growl back.
"Riley, I'll be fine. You and Rosa can go hor wait outside for privacy." | demand.
"Luna.."
"I mean it Riley, please respect my wishes." | firmly state, releasing my aura behind my request. | thought |
would need to practice it more, but it comes naturally to me...like breathing.
As he leaves the room, he gives Samson a parting glare.
As soon as the door closes Samson takes a step closer to me, his hands gripping at my jaw as he tilts my head
up to look closer at my mark.
"You let him mark you?" His tone has a level of disgust to it.

"lI am Luna here, being Hector's mate..." | stop as he scoffs. Suddenly | feel quite protective of this pack and my
status as their Luna. Even of my bond with Hector, yes | may deny it but having someone else question it seems
