In the end, Ethan spent the rest of the day thinking about what he should do to develop his second fighting style. However, he was only thinking about the basics and what he should train specifically because he already knew the perfect place to train: the school. Although a teacher would come in handy, and there are some classes of unarmed combat, Ethan would rather learn by fighting.
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ Evelyn only returned when the sun was already setting alongside William. Although they were surprised and happy since Ethan always returned home at dinnertime. They scolded him for skipping school.
"Ethan, I don't know why you are working or if you need money for something," William crossed his arms and then closed his eyes. "But you shouldn't skip school again. I know it is annoying to hear this, but you are at a point in your life you won't be able to experiment for much longer. You will miss certain opportunities if you try to grow up too fast."
"I understand," Ethan nodded. "That won't happen again… probably, possibly, hopefully."
"Did you have fun at your work?" Evelyn asked.
"I guess… from a certain point of view," Ethan rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Anyway, the pay was quite nice, so I managed to buy those for you. It would be great if you two could use them all the time."
Ethan gave his parents two blue amulets. Although they weren't made of any pricey material, the crest of a shield in the middle of them made those look pretty valuable. Weirdly enough, just by wearing them, William and Evelyn also felt pretty relaxed and full of life.
"Hehe, we are matching with these," Evelyn smiled cheerfully.
"This kind of thing is a bit weird to use at my age," William forced a smile. "But I will make sure to keep it with me all the time."
"Thanks," Ethan nodded. "Putting that aside, did Hannah or Nuvian say something in the last few days?"
"No, why do you ask?" William asked.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"It is nothing," Ethan said. "I was just too focused on this job, and that I thought I had missed something."
Ethan wanted to talk with Hannah about some things. The fake hero was one of them, and she was the only reliable source of information he could trust. Still, Ethan couldn't help but think that talking about certain things with his family would only put them in danger. While that was logical, Ethan was also fully aware that his instincts might be forcing him to worry too much. It couldn't be helped when they were part of the equation.
Regardless, after talking with his parents and having dinner, Ethan went to his room. It was a pity, but he already had to resume his training because he didn't want to feel that helpless again. Next time some asshole holds back against him, Ethan will make sure to make them regret it.
"Let's see… if I remember well, I saw some fighters on Hedo that used only their bodies to fight. However, that only happens between the second and the third month, and I don't need to go that far… Still, should I use Zen and relive the memories of a few days after my summoning?"
Ethan would use his Omni Hero's powers if he couldn't avoid them. However, using it all the time wasn't something he wanted to do. Absorb magic stones was a different matter since they don't have memories. They were fine because they Ethan won't have to deal with one of the after-effects of his power… Regardless, if he could recover his powers while dreaming, then it was only natural that he would be able to use Omni Hero while meditating. Ethan endured that for a year, but he couldn't risk compromising his sanity now that he was finally at home.
"Yep, even though they had interesting skills, it wasn't worth the hassle. Besides, it is not like I mind following the self-taught path."

Ethan's status more or less had stabilized. Although he still was lacking a little bit in the stamina aspect, it was because he had been almost completely ignoring some of his defensive aspects. In the end, before spending the entire night using Zen, Ethan used some of his status points to increase it. After spending the night using Zen, as soon as the sun started to rise, Ethan left his home to exercise a little bit.
"Although I refused Ian's offer, I definitely need one simulator for myself. Just moving my body while holding back my physical strength isn't enough. I have to constantly keep it at its limits in order to grow stronger and faster. Maybe next time, instead of mystical potions, I will ask to be paid with a simulator…"
After a while, Ethan got ready to school and then teleported to the school. He wouldn't be able to use much time, but every single level up in Martial Arts would help him reach his current goal. However, much to Ethan's surprise, he didn't find a single student in the plaza where they were supposed to appear after teleporting.
"It is 07:30… I don't think it is that early," Ethan frowned. "How weird…"
Ethan more or less would understand that if the students arrived late on a Monday, but since it was Thursday, he was caught off-guard. Regardless, that was a good sign. He wouldn't be bothered by anyone. Without wasting any time, Ethan headed toward the simulator's floor. However, before he could enter in any room, he received a call from Ian.
"You are at school, right Ethan?" Ian asked.
"What if I am?" Ethan asked. "Are you guys still monitoring me?"
"No, I just imagined that was the case since you didn't call me," Ian replied.
"Why would I call you so early in the morning?" Ethan frowned.
"Figures… access one of the terminals at the school and watch the news," Ian replied after a long sigh. "You will see something interesting. Don't delay it."
