Chapter 279 The moment Westley stepped out, his gaze immediately found Natalia.
It was just a glance, but Natalia could see the distaste in his eyes.
This was technically the first formal encounter between Natalia and Westley.
Westley's gaze lingered on her for a moment before shifting away.
Natalia lowered her eyes and chuckled, "It's clear, your grandfather really doesn't like me." Hamilton, holding her hand, reassured her, "As long as I like you, that's all that matters." Natalia pursed her lips, choosing not to respond.
The atmosphere in the banquet hall was even more peculiar.
Delilah softly called out, "Hamilton." Hamilton, acting as if he hadn't seen her, pulled Natalia to the side.
Westley's expression instantly darkened.
"Hamilton! Chere!" Hamilton chuckled, "What's the matter? Isn't one companion enough for grandpa?" Westley's face turned stern, but after all, it was his birthday party, and with so many guests around, he couldn't possibly confront Hamilton in such a setting.
But Natalia, he was determined to teach her a lesson tonight.
Did she really think that just because Hamilton doted on her, she could do as she pleased? His gaze darkened as he looked at Natalia.
"Ms. Jenkins, welcto Hamilton and Delilah's engagement party." Natalia's face turned pale.
Hamilton laughed.
"I am indeed getting engaged, but the person, is definitely not this Delilah." The guests in the banquet hall were all taken aback.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEven Natalia frowned at Hamilton.
Westley's expression turned ugly instantly.
"Hamilton, do you know what you're saying?" Hamilton laughed, "I'm not so confused that I don't understand the meaning of my own words." Westley looked at Natalia, a flash of murderous intent in his eyes.
"Ms. Jenkins, the only granddaughter-in-law I acknowledge is Delilah. I hope Ms. Jenkins understands what I mean." Natalia clearly understood Westley's intention; in front of so many people, he simply wanted to tell her that she wasn't worthy and couldn't possibly enter the doors of the Fowler family. Her lips were tightly pursed.
Even the hand holding Hamilton's arm tightened unconsciously.
She had anticipated Westley making things difficult for her tonight.
But she hadn't expected to be publicly humiliated like this.
Feeling her mood, Hamilton pulled her into his arms.
He looked up, meeting Westley Fowler's gaze.
"Since you've made your stance so clear, letalso be frank, the woman I, Hamilton, want is only Natalia. The granddaughter-in-law you fancy, feel free to marry her yourself!" With that, he directly led Natalia out.
Delilah's face changed drastically, and she quickly followed.
"Hamilton, tonight is our engagement party." "Whoever arranged this engagement party for you, go get engaged to them!" After saying that, Hamilton pulled Natalia away.
In the banquet hall, there were silent exchanges of looks, nobody dared to make a sound.
Everyone knew about the eldest grandson of the Fowler family's willful behavior.
But no one had expected him to be so audacious.
Westley's face darkened, and Alden quickly went to stand by the old man's side.
"Grandpa, no matter what, today is your birthday celebration; let's attend to the guests first." Westley snorted coldly, making a statement in front of everyone.
"Tonight is the engagement party of Hamilton and Delilah, whether Hamilton attends or not, this engagement must proceed!" Delilah's eyes filled with tears.
Westley patted her, "Don't worry, grandpa will never let that woman enter the Fowler family's doors!" Delilah nodded, tears in her eyes.
Compared to Natalia, the one who was more embarrassed tonight was probably her! She was furious, but could only pretend to be gracious.
Alden frowned at this, thinking, "Is grandpa out of his mind?" Bella, watching from a distance, had an expressionless face.
After standing there for a moment, she turned and left.
Anita Fowler hurriedly followed Bella.
"Aunt Bella, do you see how brother is behaving now? He's becoming more and more disrespectful to grandpa!" Bella smiled warmly, "Not letting the woman he loves be wronged, that's exactly how my son should be." Anita pouted.
"But I don't like that Natalia at all. Apart from being pretty, what does she have over Delilah? No famit). background, nont how is she worthy of my brother? Bella paused, a fleeting smile in her eyes.
"Having no family background or connections is quite good." Hamilton, holding Natalia's hand, left the banquet hall and directly led her to the car.
It was only in the car that he softly asked, "Unhappy?" Natalia shook her head.
Hamilton's protection was all seen and appreciated by her.
Although it was quite embarrassing, at least, she didn't feel that bad.
"Wasn't this expected?" Hamilton chuckled, "Hmm, Ms.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJenkins is quite generous. Your boyfriend was almost engaged to someone else, and you're noeven a bit upset." Natalia looked at him.
"Hamilton, would you really get engaged to someone else?" Hamilton laughed but didn't answer, simply driving off.
When the car stopped at the apartment building, he pulled Natalia out of the car.
All the way to the front door, he softly said, "Open the door." Natalia raised an eyebrow at him but opened the door nonetheless.
The moment the door opened, she was taken aback.
The living room was filled with hydrangeas, leading from the bedroom to the doorway.
Natalia opened her mouth, about to say something.
Hamilton suddenly presented a ring in front of her.
"Natalia, will you marry me?" Hamilton asked, holding out a sparkling diamond king that seemed to catch every light in the room.
Natalia stared at it, utterly taken aback. It took her a moment to find her voice. "Hamilton, you're not joking, are you?" she asked incredulously. Hamilton raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk on his face. "Do I look like I'm joking?" Natalia was lost for words as she gazed into the eyes of the man before her.
After a long pause, she finally managed to ask, "When did you plan all this?" Hamilton chuckled. "The ring or the roses?" "Everything." "The roses were arranged right after we left the diner, and as for the ring, I've had it since we cback from our trip to Boria City." He smiled warmly. "So, any more questions? Or can you givean answer now? Will you marry me?" Natalia looked at him, her eyes brimming with tears, not sure what to say. After a while, she hesitantly voiced her concern.
"Hamilton, your family clearly doesn't approve."
Hamilton looked down, his expression serious. "What does it es it not? They're matter if they approve or not? not the ones getting married, are we?" He knew what was troubling her. Holding her close, he reassured her nea "Natalia, don't worry. No matter what, I take care of you. I won't let anything like what happened before occur again."
After saying this, he frowned slightly, looking down at the woman in his, om arms. "Natalia, Ms. Xenkins, Ms. Jenkins, answer me," he urged gently.
Jenkins Natalia looked up at him, and after a moment, she finally nodded her head.
