Emily’s eyes widened, “Don’t you even think about it!”
“I’m telling you, our deal ain’t over yet, not even three months in, so if I need you, you gotta be on standby and
ready to strip if I say so. Don’t make me say it twice!” Charlie’s temper finally snapped, his eyes blazing with anger.
Emily took a deep breath, shoved him away, and bolted.
Charlie didn’t chase her until she reached the door. He caught the door just as she was opening it, snuffing out her
last sliver of hope.
He pinned her against the door and kissed her deeply…
Emily’s heart pounded against her chest as she leaned against the heavy wooden door, unable to resist. She began
to tremble uncontrollably.

choice but to go look for her.
He couldn’t find her in the hallway, so he asked a waiter about her. After hearing Wilson’s description of Emily, the
waiter thought for a moment and said, 1 saw a man leading a lady to Room 9005 earlier. Maybe that was her
“Thanks!”
Wilson headed towards Room 9005.
He knocked a few times but no one answered. He tried the door, but it was locked.
Confused, Wilson stopped another waiter and asked, “Is there anyone in this room?”
The waiter answered respectfully, “The room was booked by Mr. James and Mr. Gavin.” Surprised, Wilson asked,
“The Mr. James of the James Group?”
“Yes! The waiter replied immediately
If that was the case, Emily might be inside. Wilson knocked again, “Mr. James, is Emily in there?”
No one responded. Wilson took out his phone to call Emily.
Inside the room, Emily was leaning against the thick mahogany door. Under the cim light, she heard the knocking.
She felt a wave of shame, so she dug her nails into Charlie’s shoulder, drawing blood.
Her phone on the floor kept vibrating
Charlie’s voice was a low growl in her ear, “Tell him you’re in here!”
With tears in her eyes, Emily glared at him, “Charlie, you’ve lost your mind!”
Charlie bit her jaw, “If I have, it’s all because of you!”
Knock, knock, knock!
The heavy knocking resumed, each knock sent a jolt through Emily, making her head spin. She bit her lip and
remained silent.

Charlie kissed her fiercely, “Remember today’s lesson. If you meet him behind my back again, you know what’s
coming!”
Tears filled Emily’s eyes. She felt dizzy. She didn’t know if her lips hurt more or her heart.
Eventually, Emily called Betty and Wilson, telling them something urgent came up and she had to leave without
telling them.
Betty, knowing Emily had a child, was understanding and said, “No worries, we’ll meet next time.”
Wilson was a bit puzzled but didn’t say anything
After hanging up, Emily looked at Charlie, “Can I leave now?”
Charlie lounged on the sofa with a cold smile. Sure, you can go explain to them face to face why you left. I don’t
mind. Go on, off you go
Emily glared at him furiously. “Once the three months are over, I’m quitting I hope you’ll keep your word and let me
leave!”
Charlie looked at her coldly, “Sure, as long as you don’t piss me off again!”
Emily sat on the sofa, trying to calm herself down, “Charlie, can we talk this out?”
