Chapter 44

The moment the bedroom door closed, Estelle relaxed and thought about her conversation with

Jonathan just now. It seemed a bit unbelievable, but she didn’t think she’d acted impulsively.

She turned to look for her phone and found it charging on the cabinet across the room. It had run out of

power and shut down.

When she turned it on, a bunch of missed calls and texts popped up.

There were messages from Emily, Wilma, and the latest one was from Bennett.

She guessed what Bennett wanted to say, so she called Emily and Wilma back first.

Emily was almost in tears. Because she didn’t receive a call from Estelle last night, she kept calling and

even went to Blue Oasis to find her. She was so worried that she’d almost called the police.

Estelle reassured her, saying her phone had run out of power.

Emily sighed with relief on the phone, “As long as you’re okay. Oh, and last night when I went to Blue

Oasis for the second time, I saw police cars outside and all those guys including Noel were arrested.”

She was confused since Estelle said she didn’t call the police.

Estelle said calmly, “Maybe the people at Blue Oasis called the police.”

In her plan, Noel wouldn’t call the police himself. If the people at Blue Oasis did, she would have had

plans.

But the sudden illness had thrown her plans off track, the monitoring was not deleted, and if Noel

accused her, the police should’ve been looking for her by now.

However, she checked her missed calls and there was no trace of the police.

After comforting Emily, she called Wilma to reassure her as well. Then she called Bennett.

Bennett was worried, “Estelle, I just got a call from the Lamont family. They said they want to end the

marriage early. What’s going on?”

Estelle pondered for a moment and said softly, “Leave it to me. I’ll handle it.”

“Oh, if the Lamont family insists on divorce, just agree to it. You’ve suffered enough these years!”

Bennett said

in a low voice.

Estelle’s tone didn’t change, “I’ll sort it out.”

After hanging up, she stretched lazily, bearing the soreness in her legs, and walked towards the

balcony.

Her room had a huge balcony, and from there, she could see almost the entire University of J City; the

Emerald River winding through high-rises like a silver ribbon; and even the iconic Lamont Group

building in J City.

Familiar with the property, Estelle recognized the Royal Mansion, conveniently located a mere 10-

minute walk from the University of J City.

She glanced at the time, noting it was 8:20 a.m., with her class scheduled to start at 9 a.m.

It seemed she had just enough time for breakfast. Perfect timing!

There were new toiletries in the bathroom. After freshening up, she came out and realized the house

was enormous. The living room was connected to the outdoor balcony hallway, and across was the

master bedroom-probably where Jonathan occasionally stayed.

The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped, but it looked untouched.

Estelle walked around and, when she returned to the living room, heard the doorbell ring
