Chapter 1360 Why Are You Suddenly so Nice to Me?
Alivia was unaware of the change within her, her full attention was riveted on the man in front of her. And Bert, not
wanting to disturb the hard-earned trust, chose not to mention it, lest they go back to square one.
However, her reaction made Bert understand that she didn't genuinely dislike him. She just hadn't gotten over
some emotional hurdles yet. Deep down, she still relied on him and was willing to accept him.
The rest was up to him to work on and gradually erase.
He let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, she hadn't grown to despise him, something he absolutely couldn't bear to
see. If he sensed any form of rejection coming from her heart, he would lose the courage to move further.
He was afraid it might bring her more trouble and hurt.

Bert filled a basin halfway with foot bath water and even put his hand in to test the temperature, showing no signs
of disgust.
He effortlessly lifted the basin. His forearm muscles flexed slightly, revealing attractive lines. Alivia trailed behind
him, watching as he placed the basin by the window and squatted down in front of it. He patted the edge of the bed
and said, "Sit down."
Alivia's hands, hanging by her side, slowly tightened. She walked over nervously and sat down on the bed. Seeing
that he was about to lift her foot, she quickly pulled back and said, "I can do it myself..."
"Your hand is injured, it's not convenient," he replied. Without giving her time to refuse further, Bert removed her
shoes and put her feet into the warm water.
Her fair feet were covered by crystal-clear water. The ripples reflected the overhead light in segments. Alivia lifted
one foot and placed it over the other as if this would make her feel more at ease.
Having him watch her so closely as he bathed her feet was... extremely embarrassing.
Considering Bert's attitude toward her before she fainted and how it was now, it was like night and day. In the past,
he wouldn't have thought to wash her feet, probably even considering a second glance at her to be a bother.
Thinking about the past, the little bird of joy in Alivia's heart seemed to suddenly droop. She kept her head low,
staring at the foot bath, and stayed silent.
Sensing her mood, Bert reached into the water and accurately grabbed one foot, kneading it with comfortable
strength.
Alivia was startled and tried to pull back but failed to move him even slightly. Her ears, already flushed, turned an
even deeper shade of red, spreading to her cheeks.
She whispered in protest, "It's not necessary, I can just scrub it myself."

"Don't you like being clean?" Bert ignored her, determined to massage her feet. Those hands that once held a gun
and wielded a pen were now touching her feet unimpeded.
Though they had a physical encounter before, it had happened when she was not fully conscious, leaving a hazy
impression. For Alivia, every approach and touch from this man was a lethal temptation.
The hospital room was quiet, with occasional sounds of wind blowing outside the window. Other than that, all she
could hear was the pounding of her heart.
One minute, five minutes, ten minutes... time slowly passed, and Alivia's emotions gradually calmed. Bert did
nothing more than simply help her relax her feet. Although his massage technique was not professional, it was
incredibly comforting.
Feeling more at ease, questions began to surface in her mind. Looking at the top of Bert's head, with its soft,
smooth hair, Alivia couldn't help but ask, "Why... why are you suddenly so nice to me?"
