Chapter 1379 The Man in Love
When Kevin saw her agree, a weight was lifted from his heart. It was best to arrange it for the evening. After all,
Marcellus had been drinking all night and would not wake up until the evening.
"No problem, I'll pick you up at the hospital at eight, so it won't interfere with your dinner."
"Okay, see you tonight."
Having finally settled things with Beryl, Kevin feared Marcellus might cause further trouble. So, he called Marcellus
around six that same evening.
"Where are you?"
At this moment, Marcellus was sitting in a restaurant not far from Red Cauldron. He looked at the plain congee in
his bowl and ate it reluctantly, "Having a meal."

"Plain congee."
"Good, you've got inflammation in your stomach, don't eat anything spicy."
"I didn't," Marcellus put his spoon aside, his head still aching a bit, "Why are you calling?"
Then Kevin got to the point, "I've arranged a meeting with Beryl tonight at eight. I'll bring her to your place so you
two can have a good talk."
"Who?" Marcellus touched his ear, thinking he'd heard wrong, "Who did you just say?"
"Beryl Juliet."
"Holy shit!" Marcellus stood up abruptly from his chair, almost knocking over his glass of water, "Are you serious?"
"Absolutely. I'm not joking with you," Kevin remained very calm in comparison to Marcellus' shock, "I'm letting you
know in advance, so you don't act weird when she gets there."
Marcellus was nearly bursting with anger at Kevin's indifferent tone, not even calling him 'bro' anymore, "Who told
you to bring her?!"
He looked like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Kevin knew his anger wasn't aimed at himself but stemmed
from his fear of facing difficulties.
Marcellus might be used to acting tough, but he was scared of seeing Beryl.
Kevin knew Marcellus' little tricks, so he didn't take it to heart, "Whatever you want to say, say it to her face. Don't
run away and act like a coward."
After saying that, without waiting for Marcellus' response, Kevin simply hung up.
Listening to the "beep" sound from the phone, Marcellus felt horrible, especially after being called a "coward". It
made his face burn.
Fuck!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHow did he know that he was thinking about leaving Red Cauldron tonight?
Marcellus was very anxious, extremely anxious. He lifted his wrist to look at his expensive watch. It was nearly
eight. In just over an hour, he would be seeing that little ingrate, Beryl.
Mike looked at the boss who seemed like a porcupine, then at the bowl of plain congee, and asked in a low voice,
"Mr. Perkins, your congee is getting cold..."
With a sharp glance from Marcellus, the next second, he picked up the bowl on the table and drank the remaining
half-bowl of congee in one breath.
He drank as though it wasn't congee in the bowl but a half-glass of whiskey.
Mike was stunned, quickly getting up to hand him a tissue, "Mr. Perkins, slow down. Don't choke..."
Marcellus put the empty bowl down and walked toward the exit. His entire demeanor seemed tragically heroic as if
he was marching to his execution.
Mike looked at the tall figure and couldn't help but shake his head and sigh. Love could really change a person
beyond recognition, but Mr. Perkins was indeed... a little cute.
