Without further ado, the Death Spirit pointed out the direction toward his master. Due to him being bonded to Mithra, Alex brought her too.
"So, what are you doing?" Alex asked the Death Spirit, suspicious of his action. If everything went according to the Time God, the Death Spirit should be waiting by the side of his master, so he might want to do something.
"It's nothing. According to my master, someone would come five thousand years from the day she "died" but no one came after waiting for so long. We ended up agreeing to go outside to search for the person himself. I met this girl a few months ago and made a contract to find you in exchange for my strength, but it seemed the contract has ended."
Alex narrowed his eyes and nodded. Although the story was convincing, he didn't plan to fully trust someone he didn't know. He chose to wait until he got the story from the Goddess herself.
They arrived within ten minutes due to Alex's Teleportation Array and found a small tree in the middle of nowhere. The tree itself was nothing special to normal people, but for Alex, it was a treasure.
"This tree…It holds a powerful Life Energy." Alex narrowed his eyes. "It's like Nature Energy, but a bit different."
The Dark Spirit asked, "Please remove the tree. My master is underground. The only way to enter is the tree."
Alex narrowed his eyes and waved his hand, using his Spiritual Energy to pull out the tree.
"This…" Mithra drew a gasp when she found a small hole leading deep underground.
"Let's go." Alex grabbed her waist and jumped inside before hearing the Dark Spirit saying, "Please bring the tree too."
Alex didn't think much and brought it with him inside his Space Ring.
Of course, he didn't forget to close the hole, so no one learned anything about this place and experienced the free fall for a minute before using his Spiritual Energy to decrease the falling speed until he gently landed on the ground.
Surprisingly, the cave was dark, but they could already see the light coming at the end of the corridor, barely reaching their place without them doing anything.
"That's where my master is."
Alex nodded and activated his Spirit Eyes again, finding another energy, which seemed to be the Life Spirit.
"Follow me." Alex patted Mithra's head while the Blue Loan followed them right behind without making a sound.
As soon as he entered the room at the end of the corridor, the space around them expanded as if they just came to another world. Inside the room was a bright white background without any edge.
A spirit that looked like the Death Spirit, which only had color differences, bowed to him. Unlike his black skin, this Spirit was full white other than its golden eyes.
"I have been waiting for your excellency, Spirit God."
Alex nodded. "Before that, I think we have one thing to do, no?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Yes." The Life Spirit's feminine voice resounded in his ears as she explained. "My master has been expecting for Your Majesty to come here. To avoid any implication, my master chose to fake her own death. The way to "wake" her up is to use the tree from the surface."
"You mean this?" Alex waved his hand, taking out the tree full of Life Energy.
"Yes." The Life Spirit nodded before turning to the coffin next to her. She slowly opened the lid, revealing the real appearance of the Life and Death Goddess.
"Seriously?" Alex quickly remembered what the Time God had told him. The reason for him saying that he wouldn't find her attractive because her body looked like Eve. She appeared to be only twelve or thirteen years old, wearing gothic style clothing.
"Is there a problem, Your Majesty?"
"No, no." Alex waved his hand.
"If you don't mind, I would like to start the process right now."
"Please."
The Life Spirit then used her power and lifted the tree above the Goddess.
"My master faked her death with the help of Al while my power is required to dispel the fake death state and resurrect her." The Life Spirit looked at Alex with a pleading gaze as if asking him not to do anything to her master.
"Don't worry. The Time God sent me here, so I won't do anything." Alex shook his head, assuring them.
The Life Spirit nodded and extracted the Life Energy from the tree and used her hand to channel it to the Goddess's body. The energy flowed from her hand to the stomach before spreading all over her body.
Alex decided to close his eyes because he knew that this process would be long.
It turned out that he was true. It took them three days until the Life Spirit said, "My master should be waking up soon."
Alex nodded and waited with a serious expression.
"Mhm." A small groan was heard from the coffin before the Death Spirit, Al, called her. "Master!"
"Al…" She gradually furrowed her eyebrows, looking very annoyed. "You are so loud."
"Master…I am glad." He looked down. If he had the capability of crying, tears would have already streamed down his eyes.
"You are always a cry baby." She smiled but still had yet to open her eyes.
She then sensed Alex's presence and stretched her hand.
The Life Spirit took her hand, helping her up.
"Thank you, El."
"It's nothing, Master."
"Umu." The Goddess smiled and raised her head without opening her eyes. "It's my pleasure to meet you, Spirit God…No, Alexander Sirius."
"…" Alex was surprised because he had prepared himself to get called by that title.
"I can sense that there is only a trace of your previous life's energy in you, not fully controlling your body. In that case, you must be the reincarnation without having the memory or soul. That's why I call you Alexander Sirius. If you prefer to be called Spirit God, I don't mind though."
"No. Alexander Sirius is fine." Alex shook his head.
"In that case, nice to meet you, Alexander Sirius." She thought for a moment and asked, "So, what has Julian or my two eyes said to you?"
"Eyes? Julian?" Alex tilted his head in confusion.
[It's my father's name. I forgot that he hadn't introduced himself. Ugh.]
'Ah. We were rushing back then, so I didn't think much of it.' Alex sighed inwardly.
Meanwhile, the Goddess smiled and asked, "So, they didn't tell you anything?"
"Yes?" Alex was still confused about the eyes, so his tone was quite hesitant.
"Al, El. Do you mind?" The Goddess called the two spirits' names.
"Please, Master." Both answered at the same time before turning into a light ball that flew toward her eyes.
The Dark Ball or Al entered her left eye while the Life Spirit came inside the right eye. She gradually opened her eyes, revealing a white and black eye.
"They are my eyes, you see."
"Ah…" Alex lowered his head. "Sorry."
"You don't need to apologize since no one actually has a record about this. In other words, only you and the two behind you know this." She smiled before asking Mithra and Lan. "So, can you keep this a secret?"
Mithra and Lan repeatedly nodded their heads. Alex's friend would be someone trustworthy, so they didn't dare to tell it to anyone because Alex would be angry.
"Thank you." She smiled and touched both of her eyebrows before closing her eyes again, summoning the two spirits back. "That's how it is…I hope you don't mind talking to this blind girl."
"No, please don't say such a thing." Alex shook his head politely. If it were a blind girl, he already met her a long time ago. Now that he thought about it, he wondered about Aria's progress.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Thanks. So, I think I will be explaining from the start. This is going to be a long talk." She turned to Al. "Can you bring out everything to make ourselves comfortable?"
"With Master's permission."
"You have my permission."
Al nodded and took a Space Ring inside the coffin, summoning all the stuff like couches, carpet, drinks, and other things.
She also came out of the coffin and sat on the couch without care. She didn't feel any movement from Alex and asked, "Is there something wrong? Is this not comfortable enough? Or do you prefer a bed? But are you sure you want an old woman like me?"
"No thanks." Alex shook his head. "I was shocked, but I guess it's fine."
She smiled and nodded. "So, first of all, I was the one telling you that you were going to die. I mean, your past life."
"Eh?" Alex widened his eyes, never expecting to hear that at the very first sentence.
The Goddess remained calm before remembering something. "Ah, I haven't introduced myself. Sorry, sorry. Let's restart the conversation. My name is Alaya, known as Life and Death Goddess. I personally didn't like to interfere in any matter, but I happened to meet you and abruptly told you about your death.
"You could say that you reeked of death. Of course, it wasn't as accurate as Time Eyes or Fortune Teller, but you could say that it was pretty accurate. And it's not like someone who reeked of that couldn't escape his fate, so it doesn't really matter if I tell you something like that.
"However, the Spirit God took this matter seriously as if he had known something too. After a long talk with the Spirit God, he chose to go on a journey. He called it the Reincarnation Journey.
"I didn't know much about his journey, but I still followed a bit of his news because I felt something was wrong with him and the universe. I learned that he met the Time God, Dungeon God, Fire God. But then I lost contact with him because he went somewhere far away for five years.
"No one knew anything about that journey, even the three Gods. Not long after he came back, the smell of death became even more apparent, and somehow I also had that smell.
"Two years after that, the beast came and started to wreak havoc. It was something stoppable with all the God Kings around, but it was when the real terror began. No one other than me was alive to tell the tale, but a certain planet turned out to be the beast's weapon." Alaya hesitated to tell him because it was a nightmare.
Alex frowned and asked. "What is the weapon?"
"Monsters."
"Monsters?" Alex widened his eyes, never expecting this answer. "What do you mean?"
"They were literally monsters. Although their strength was a bit lower than ours, they had numbers. If I were not wrong, seven God Kings, including me, fought against ten monsters of the same level. And there were millions of monsters storming our way. The three people that didn't participate at that time were you, Sword God, and Fire God.
"You had something in your mind, so you didn't participate. Sword God didn't want to deal with it and retired to his own planet. As for the Fire God, he challenged the beast himself and had himself killed by it.
"The fight lasted almost a week. The Time God told me that I needed to leave that place because I had another role. When I thought of that, the smell of death gradually disappeared from me and that was when I knew what to do. I chose this planet and faked my own death.
"As for the Time God and the others, they chose to sacrifice themselves, so they could destroy all the God King monsters in their ranks while destroying their millions God Rank Experts. The people on our side then used their power to expel the planet from this universe after wiping out any records about this war." She let out a sigh after a long explanation.
"I have never thought that the weapon turns out to be monsters. What kind of monsters were they? I mean, how could they even reach God King until it was too late?" Alex asked with a serious expression. This might be the most important information to challenge the beast while preventing any "weapons" from being created again.
She hesitated for a minute before opening her mouth.
"They are…"
