"Wow, this place looks totally different." Raydon took a few moments to take in his surroundings before speaking.
He was in the middle of a room that was quite large, very bright, and completely made of a kind of marble that was gray in color. There was an entrance in each of the room's four walls, but the only thing he could see when he looked through any of them was complete darkness.
''Do I have to decide now which of these doors to go through? '' Raydon pondered as he examined each of the four identical doors.
Initially, he assumed that it was some kind of scenario in which only one of the doors was correct and the others were incorrect; however, he eventually let go of that notion.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt''There doesn't appear to be any sort of puzzle that would require me to figure out which door to pick. It looks like I have to go to every room and claim the reward within the next three hours. '' Based on his previous gaming experiences, Raydon made his guess.
It is likely that the previous owner of this inheritance hid a reward behind each of these doors, and in order for him to claim these rewards, he will need to overcome the challenges that are hidden behind the doors.
Assuming that this assumption was correct, he picked a door and started walking in that direction immediately. He was now standing right in front of the door, but all he could see was pitch blackness on the other side of it.
'Probably only once I'm inside will I be able to see what's inside. ' After some consideration, he proceeded through the door.
*BAM*
As soon as Raydon went through the door, he heard a very loud noise behind him, and when he turned around to look, he noticed that the stone door that he had just gone through was now closed.
He mumbled, "Looks like I won't be able to get out of here until the time is up or I'm past this stage," and he turned once more to face what awaited him.
Raydon stood at the threshold of a mysterious land, which was a vast expanse of yellow sand.
In the far distance, he could make out a single marble pedestal resting on firm ground. The stand was adorned with intricate designs, elegant curves, and patterns, etched with great care and attention to detail.
Perched atop the pedestal was a large and imposing chest, crafted from the same marble material as the stand. The chest had a tightly shut lid, its surface smooth and polished to a high shine, reflecting the surrounding sand and sky.
Standing alone in the midst of the yellow sand plain, there was nothing else in sight except for the endless stretch of sand dunes. Not even the sound of the wind could be heard.
Raydon felt anticipation and curiosity well up inside of him as he took in the scene.
'Looks like my reward is inside that chest. ' He murmured and concentrated on the sands that made up the path to his goal.
It appeared as though there was no danger around, and he could simply walk up to the chest and open it. However, Raydon was aware that the peril of this stage would originate from the vast amount of sand that was in front of him.
'So, as soon as I step into this sand, will the sand turn into monsters and attack me? ' He muttered once more before taking his first step with a great deal of apprehension.
He was willing to take on any kind of monster so long as he could gain the experience he needed.
However, despite the fact that he had high expectations, those expectations were dashed the moment his foot made contact with the sand.
"Damn, what kind of shabby stage is this? Where is the horde of sand monsters that are supposed to attack me? '' When Raydon noticed that the sand was too soft and was drawing his feet in like a swamp, he began cursing.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt was obvious that the obstacle he needed to overcome in this stage would be to find a way to get past the soft sand and make his way to the stone chest that contained the prize.
"So, how am I supposed to get over this sand now?" He forced himself to ignore his disappointment and instead started to think of a solution.
He lacked a skill that would allow him to fly over the sand, and it was clear that even if he tried to jump using Flame Burst, he wouldn't be able to reach the distant hard ground.
"Wait a second. Isn't this sand? If this works, I can make a road for myself,'' Raydon reasoned.
He then chanted while pointing his hand toward the sand.
''Flame Burst. ''
The intense heat caused by the black flames that were being expelled from Raydon's hand caused the sand to start burning and melting. He was able to see, despite the thickening cloud of smoke, the sand melting away piece by piece until it was transformed into a brilliant glow.
''It looks like this method will work. '' Raydon's face lit up with satisfaction as he continued to use his Flame Burst ability for a full thirty seconds.
He watched the transformation of the sand in front of him into a structure that was shiny and transparent with eager anticipation.
The smoke that had initially filled the air was now dispersed, revealing the beautiful glass structure that lay beneath it. Raydon had successfully used his Flame Burst skill to turn the sand into glass.
He walked out onto the sand, which had completely transformed into glass in front of him. When he stood on it, he observed with satisfaction that the newly formed glass did not dissolve into the sand.
''Now that I know how to cross the sand safely. However, it appears that getting to the chest will take some time. ''
