1321 Change of Mind?
No, it wasn't entirely accurate to say that she hadn't broken through to become a Sky God. Rather, it could be said that she had done so in one facet, the Mental Realm.
There were two paths of entering the Sky God Realm, the first was to take the complete path, and the second was the one that Mae had taken, and not even consciously at that. She had thought that she was still very far from entering the Sky God Realm, but she had reached the Soul Quintessence Realm just because of a few words from Ryu.
Mae was so happy that she jumped up and down, even diving into Ryu's arms. She truly didn't care about those around her any longer and her heart was as light as a feather.
Ryu smiled, holding her in his arms. Indeed, it seemed that his speculations about the Dao Heart were correct.
This was the first time Ryu had helped someone breakthrough. The first was in the Armament Guild, the second was Aika and now the third was his wife. He didn't believe that it was a coincidence.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAs the wielder of the Mysteries of Heaven and Earth Pupils, he had a small control over Karmic Qi. Although the Karmic Qi he controlled could only be filtered through his eyes and its techniques and wasn't as wild and unrestrained as the one that had come from his cracked Spiritual Foundation, it was Karmic Qi nonetheless.
His ability to not only speak to aid someone, but to also pick the perfect words to enlighten them or take the perfect action to push them along was unmatched.
Ryu realized at that moment that his Dao wasn't just capable of guiding himself, if he cared enough he could easily guide others. And even more importantly than that, it seemed that although he couldn't use his Dao to its full extent right now, he still had access to a small portion of the same small portion he could always use without actively triggering it.
There was a reason Ryu hadn't thought of this before. Usually, guiding someone's comprehension was a huge taboo in the Martial World. You could easily lead someone astray or ruin their foundation. Even Dao Lord, Sovereign and Gods wouldn't easily do this unless the person was far beneath them.
But it seemed that Ryu had a knack for it. If he had such ambition, he could probably create the Martial World's most powerful Sect without much effort at all. However, he didn't care about any power aside from himself. Nothing else was important outside the size of his own fists.
"Okay, okay," Ryu chuckled, "we still have work to do."
"Right!" Mae uttered a bit too loudly, a fire burning within her.
In reality, although she had entered the Soul Quintessence Realm, this was essentially nothing. This was just the first step, while the usual leaders of the other troops were in the True Sky God Realm at the worst. But even so, she felt a great amount of confidence right now.
The last time she had been with Ryu, she broke all the way through from the Dao Pedestal Realm to the Cosmic Seed Realm years in advance. She had just exited the Samsara Wheel and she thought that she would be stuck at the Peak of the World Sea Realm for at least several years before she caught a glimpse of the Sky God Realm, but the moment she was by Ryu's side again, she had yet another unexpected breakthrough.
At this point, Ryu might as well have been like a god in her eyes, he could do no wrong.
In truth, breaking through to the Soul Quintessence Realm wasn't just a minor matter. She now had the mind of a Sky God and could deduce her Dao with much greater ease. Those who succeeded in breaking into the Soul Quintessence Realm while still in the World Sea Realm had a great amount of success in maintaining the level of their Daos, some of them even managed to have a shocking reverse, instead increasing the level of their Dao!
As for why not everyone made this choice, the reasoning was obvious and simple... it was far too difficult!
One had to have exceptional Mental Realm talent first, and that was already almost impossible to come by. Then there was the matter of having a strong enough body to accommodate it, the body was the vessel the soul resided in, if it wasn't strong enough, your soul couldn't do anything. Then there was the actual problem of enlightenment.
Mae had succeeded because of Ryu's enlightenment in the truth of the souls. He fixed the flaws in her Dao Heart first, allowing her a smooth path forward. This simply wasn't something everyone could do.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSuddenly, the value of Mae to the Dream Asura Race skyrocketed. The odds that her Dao would drop out of the Ancient Dao Ranks upon her breakthrough now was nearly zero, and there was even a non-zero chance that if she took some time and had some patience that her Dao would be even stronger than the Middle Ancient Dao Realm it was at now.
Those who were seasoned enough to understand this matter felt a shudder in their hearts.
What would they do now?
Ryu, though, never had any intention to use this as leverage. After their small delay, he had already brought Mae before their "garbage units".
As expected, they were quite pathetic. It wasn't that they were all old or crippled, it was rather that they basically had no future.
Many of them were middle aged and healthy, but clearly beyond their prime. Those that weren't were already close to reaching a level where their odds of entering the Sky God Realm was nearly zero, and even if they did, they would probably never make it out of the Fragmented Sky God Realm in their lives.
What was worse was that while many of them were in the World Sea Realm, there were even some in the Cosmic Seed Realm and even a not insignificant number who were even at the Dao Pedestal Realm.
These people weren't like the older cultivators who had reached the end of their potential, they were rather younger, much younger. They were individuals who had volunteered for this chance. They likely came from poor branches of the Clan who couldn't afford to raise them up, if they wanted to progress, this was the only route forward.
As Ryu was observing these people, the situation in the Dream Asura Race was growing heated. Mae's breakthrough wasn't just a small matter that could be brushed under the rug.
Eventually two people came forward. Before they even spoke, Ryu knew what they wanted to do. They felt that it was a opportune time to change their minds.
