"You have what I want."
Moka's body stiffened as she got to her feet while under his control once more.
"Tell me, who imprisoned you?"
Deurgar whisked his head toward Moka, using his hand to obscure her genitals.
"Moka, look at me, that isn't necessary!" He barked in protest.
Moka spoke up, "the first elders of Asrinth..."
Gasp!
Cough!
Moka coughed out blood, crouching in pain.
Not phased by what was going on with her, Hisha stared down at her.
HTC had informed him of the side effects of forcefully getting information from a target while under his control.
'Coughing out blood and severe pain almost like the blood contract.' Hisha asserted, coming to terms with what he was witnessing.
[It goes on and intensifies as per the severity of the question but it most certainly won't kill the target]
'Of course.' Hisha snickered in his thoughts, a smile tugging at his lips watching Deurgar's anguish getting to its boiling point.
"Moka!!!" Deurgar yelled in worry.
Sneering and not pleased with the constant repetition of his actions, "would you stop with the yelling, you piece of shit?!"
His target wasn't necessarily Moka but Duergar, knowing there was a limit to her knowledge and the cunning behavior of hobgoblins.
If he needed the true information that Duergar was keeping from him, he needed to break him and leave nothing to bank on.
'Asrinth... where have I heard that?' Hisha rubbed his chin at the mention of the familiar word.
[Island of Asrinth–Minotaur territory]
'Aster's tribe!' Hisha furrowed his brows, holding onto the cage.
[The hobgoblins had laid a siege on the goblins, the very creatures who had built all of Asrinth's windmills.
With it being the source of a reservoir for excess Sux production, it had distributed the energy required for the minotaurs while they carried out their work...]
Unable to stop his sister from divulging, Deurgar sighed, shaking his head in disappointment.
'Just because of that, they had sealed these creatures? I should have done the same for the tribal heads.'
[...]
HTC couldn't tell if its host was being sarcastic or serious.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtProceeding to complete its background check on the history of the feud between the beastmen of Asrinth and the hobgoblins.
[... It could be transferred to those who visited the island, but in the end, they had destroyed, and killed a majority of windmills and goblins. slowing down the advancement of Asrinth as they tried to regain control of their territory]
Hisha nodded his head to the information he was hearing and displaying in front of the screen.
"My lord, I had thought you'd spare us after I had given you what you wanted." Deurgar cut in on Hisha's thoughts, looking up to him with hope.
Glaring at the hobgoblin, Hisha hissed. "You really think that's what I want?"
'It's not? How do I get out of here?'
His eyes searched around the cage in hopes of finding a breach.
"Don't bother, you either leave here by my permission or your corpse does."
[Smooth, host. Intimidate the creature!]
'HTC?'
[Yes, host?]
'Could you please not randomly do that?' Hisha suggested, internally facepalming.
[But...]
"Would you like me to continue?" He suggested with a wicked grin.
Moka had her head raised, wiping at her lips as she stared at nothing in particular.
Getting no response from Deurgar, he shrugged and turned his focus on Moka once more.
"What's the estimated number of your race's horde?"
"My lord, please, she knows very little, spare her, take me instead," Deurgar yelled out.
Hisha raised his hand to stop Moka from responding while he acted out his frustration on Duergar.
With a clench of his hand, Deurgar gasped for air, feeling a squeeze on his neck.
Bang!
He had his back crash onto the wall, then pulled to the ceiling.
Boom!
Not satisfied, he had Duergar collide with the cage repeatedly until Kritz Sux propelled him toward the wall once more.
"Ugh!"
Duergar's body quaked from the pain that coursed through him. Due to this, getting to his feet was nearly impossible.
"Just a few bones broken, that should put a cork on your noise!" Hisha explained.
Reaching out to his sister, his eyes brimmed with tears. "M-o-k-a."
Moka's attention was drawn to her name, her apathetic eyes stared at her brother as some stranger.
"You aren't ready to disclose, I see no use in getting anything from you... except..."
A spark of hope flashed across duergar's eyes at the opportunity to prove himself.
"I... I..."
Ignoring his attempt at speaking, Hisha ordered Moka to reply to his last question.
"Over a million hobgoblins have been released so far with the rest of my kind about to be set free by the Vandrik once we complete our task."
'Task?! What fucking task?!' Hisha almost felt himself going mad from the report.
Not only was the horde of hobgoblins present in Kurg a staggering number in their millions, but there were more?!
A task had also been given, 'typical of her.'
Cough!
Cough!
Moka coughed out blood, hyperventilating with tears involuntarily trailing down her cheeks.
Gasp!
Gasp!
Hisha raised a brow at her struggling figure to maintain her composure.
'Hmmm... must have been some secret question.'
[Most definitely, host]
Clicking his tongue, Hisha turned toward Deurgar.
"If you would like to continue from where your sister stopped, nod if yes."
With a nod, Deurgar hoped he would get another chance to prove himself.
[Ability: Heal]
Green Sux engulfed Duergar's body, making him scream in pain before he felt a calming sensation engulf him.
[156 Sux exhausted]
Frowning at his Sux depletion, he glared at Duergar who had managed to get to his feet.
"Kneel!" He was quick to command, feeling his heart tug at the seeming waste.
Dropping to his knees, Duergar lowered his head in submission.
"Wasting my Sux on you better be worth it, any less from what I need, you're dead!" Hisha punched on the bars, feeling a build-up on it.
Retracting his fist, he stood his ground as a force tried to propel him meters away from the cage as it had done the hobgoblins.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBoom!
Hisha scoffed at the little sting he felt from the impact. "You two are weak."
If he could barely feel the impact, he realized how wrong he was in overestimating the siblings.
"Now tell me, what task did your sister mention?"
Grimacing and understanding that the question was imminent, he looked to his side and back at anywhere but Hisha's face.
Pointing at Deurgar, he said with a threat, "don't you waste my precious time, you would hate it if I dare repeat my words."
Nodding his head in understanding, he took a glance at his sister before drawing his conclusion.
Exhaling and inhaling, he forced a smile. "We were ordered to abduct ninety men and nine of your harem members alongside nine other beautiful ladies across the Kurg."
'HTC, any idea on what Yoru might be planning?'
Beep!
[Negatory]
'Shit!' Hisha hissed at the inability of his system to come up with a clue.
"What is the significance of those numbers?" He questions.
If he could get some correlation between them, he could only hope it would lead him to bigger clues that aid his knowledge.
"I don't know much of its detail, only my Warlord knows of it."
"Liar!" Hisha snarled, ready to toy with Deurgar once more.
"I swear my lord, I know nothing of such, but I did get a few pointers."
Easing his thoughts to accommodate, Hisha nodded his head, ready to listen to the sort of excuse he would likely give.
"I had snuck up on the Vandrik and my Warlord, the lady had spoken on something called a grand ritual."
"Grand ritual..." Hisha repeated, intrigued by the ominous title.
Bopping his head to the repeated words, Duergar crawled towards the bars of the cage. "I have said all that I know."
"No, you haven't." He countered immediately.
"My lord?" Deurgar stared at him, puzzled by his words, but also impatient about what they meant.
"What is her location?" Hisha questioned. "If you can tell me this, I assure you your release."
Deurgar's face lit up at the offer, readily available to concede to the offer.
"She's in the–"
Hisha frowned at the pause, his eyes doubled as he watched Duergar's head gradually increase in size.
In a state of panic, he looked over to Moka who had the same reaction but unlike Deurgar who had a look of pain due to his control over his mental state, she stayed calm and silent.
Deurgar rolled on the ground, tugging at his hair with scratch marks over his face, "noo! Please stop it! I don't want to die!!!"
