Chapter 913

Keira hung up the phone, chuckling to herself. When Hayden returned, he found her smiling.

"What's got you in such a good mood?" he asked, glancing at the TV, which was off, and then at her phone,

which she wasn't using either.

Keira reached for the durian he had bought her Lately, she'd been craving it like an addict. No idea why-it was as

if she couldn't get enough of it.

"I'll wash my hands and cut it for you," Hayden said, stopping her from handling it. "You just need to eat."

He pulled her along to wash her hands as well. Hayden stood behind her at the sink, his arms wrapping around

her protectively. As he washed her hands, she recounted the story about Lena.

"The car accident on the news is probably the sone," he commented. "But it only mentioned the White

family."

"Aaron has always kept a low profile," Keira replied, but as she turned her head, her words were cut off. Her lips

brushed against his.

It was completely unintentional, yet somehow, it was a perfect hit.

Turns out, those accidental kisses in TV s weren't entirely made up-they were possible.

Even though Hayden and Keira had settled into a comfortable, long-term rhythm as a couple, that unexpected

touch still made her heart race. Hayden froze for a moment, clearly caught off guard. But before she could pull

away, his lips chased after hers, capturing them in a soft, lingering kiss. Gentle and slow...

Lately, Keira had been avoiding his touch altogether, afraid he'd lose control. She hadn't even let him kiss her, so

now, she instinctively started to dodge. The scene felt like something out of a romance , where a shy girl

tentatively faced the advances of her crush-both yearning and hesitant. But Hayden wasn't in any rush. He

continued to pursue her patiently, until finally, he held her firmly and deepened the kiss, full of satisfaction.

Breathing heavily, he leaned his forehead against hers. His disheveled appearance made her laugh softly. "You're

only torturing yourself." "Mm, and I'd gladly endure it," he replied before stealing one more kiss. Then he led her

back to the living room and opened the durian for her.

While she ate, Hayden fetched her coat. "The wind's strong outside. Wear something,

warm."

"No need. | don't even feel the cold," Keira said. Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, but she hadn't felt cold

this winter.

The thought reminded her of last winter, back when they were still living in her old, unrenovated house. Every

night, she'd cling to Hayden like a human heater. Tflew-it'd already been a year. Back then, it was just the

two of them, and now there were three.

Hayden waved his hand in front of her face. "What are you daydreaming about?

"Thinking about us last year around this time," Keira said, glancing outside. "The sky's overcast. Do you think it'll

snow?"

"You want to see the snow?" Hayden followed her gaze.

"Mm, | want to watch the snow with you," Keira said, offering him a piece of durian. His nose wrinkled as he

leaned away.

Hayden disliked the smell, but he still bought it for her and sat beside her as she ate. Perhaps that was what love

meant, Keira thought.

After helping her into her coat, he drove them out. While he was at the wheel, Keira browsed news about the car

accident and scrolled through videos on her phone. "I don't think | can deliver Lena's suitcase after all," Hayden

said suddenly.

"Huh?" Keira looked up at him, confused.

His eyes were fixed on the rearview mirror. Following his gaze, she noticed a black car trailing them, keeping a

steady distance.

Keira's heart skipped a beat. "Is someone following us?"

"Mm. They've been tailing us since we left home," Hayden replied, his jaw tightening A chilling aura seemed to

envelop him.
