The inside of the city was a grotesque imitation of human civilization, complete with towering buildings and bustling streets. But the presence of undead creatures lurking in every corner made it clear that this was not a place for the living.
Along the way, they saw many types of undead and also some witches looking at their way.
The guards were the lowest rank on the undead ladder, mere mindless puppets following orders. The citizens were a step above, still retaining some semblance of will but their bodies were decaying, evidence of their tragic fate.
And then there were the witches, the ruling class of this hidden society.
Fenrir couldn't help but feel uneasy as the undead creatures stared at him with their lifeless eyes.
"I don't like the way they look at me," he grumbled.
"Don't worry, my love," Elizabeth replied, massaging his tense shoulder. "They can't help but be attracted to your vigorous body." She giggled at her own words.
Fenrir couldn't help but chuckle at Elizabeth's attempt to tease him.
"Well, I guess I should start charging them for the view," he joked with a playful glint in his eye.

"We should have brought Evangeline with us," he mused aloud.
Elizabeth smiled at his remark, but there was a hint of sadness in her eyes. She too missed her sister dearly, but the risk of two powerful Originals leaving their territory was too great.
"I miss her too," she said softly. "But it's safer for her to stay behind for now. We can't risk attracting too much attention."
Fenrir nodded in agreement, but he couldn't help but feel a twinge of worry for Evangeline's safety .
He yearned for the journey's end, eager to return to the comforts of home and his family members.

The path ahead was surprisingly uneventful, and it seemed as though the guards were already aware of their arrival. The carriage rolled on, finally coming to a stop in the center of the city, where a massive castle loomed before them.
Fenrir sized up the castle's defenses and noted that the undead guards here were much stronger than the ones they had encountered earlier. These were bigger, with bulging muscles and superior black armor.
"Undead Knights," Elizabeth said, as if reading his thoughts.
"How strong are these Undead Knights?" He couldn't help but ask
"They're as strong as a normal vampire," she replied, "but it would take three of them to kill one because they're slower."
Fenrir was astonished. The power of the witches was beyond his imagination. Elizabeth, however, was unfazed. She had lived a long life and had discovered many unknown races in the world, such as the Wizards Academy in Europe, the Secret Mystic City of Sorcerers in Asia, the Lost City of Atlantis, the Secret City of Egypt, and many more.
These civilizations were more advanced than humans, yet they had all decided to hide for one reason or another.
As the carriage made its way through the massive gate of the castle, the heavy doors opened with an ominous creak, as if welcoming them into the very bowels of the underworld.
"We are honored to see you again, Mistress Elizabeth," they murmured, their voices laced with respect.
"The Witch Queen is expecting you," another witch said, leading the way through the castle's opulent halls.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe witches might be a formidable force in their own right, but they knew better than to mess with Elizabeth. She had a reputation for being a powerful Original who would not hesitate to unleash her wrath if provoked.
As they made their way through the dimly lit castle hallway, the witches guided them with care, leading them deeper into the heart of the castle.
The interior was a sight to behold, with grand chandeliers casting a warm glow over the ornate fixtures and furnishings. It was a stark contrast to the bleak and depressing exterior of the castle, as if they had entered a completely different world altogether.
At the end of the hallway, they were met with a breathtaking sight - a grand throne hall. The throne made entirely of golden bones sat at the far end of the room, its regal presence commanding attention from all who entered.
But it wasn't just the impressive throne that caught their eyes. Seated upon it was a woman of stunning beauty, with dark chocolate hair and piercing eyes that seemed to penetrate one's very soul. Her flawless, radiant skin was a deep, rich hue, almost like polished obsidian
Fenrir found himself captivated by her allure, unable to take his gaze away from her. He knew he should be cautious, but he couldn't help the intense attraction he felt towards her.
The woman caught his gaze and smiled back at him, her lips painted a tantalizing shade of red that seemed to beckon him closer. Fenrir felt his heart skip a beat, drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
Elizabeth couldn't help but notice Fenrir's expression, but she didn't let it bother her. She wasn't a selfish person, after all. She knew how easily he could be swayed by beauty, and she was willing to share him with other women if that's what it took to keep him happy.
Moreover, she had no qualms about sharing Fenrir with the Witch Queen, a fellow leader of equal status. In fact, she would be pleased if he was able to win the Witchqueen's heart, for it would be advantageous for him.
"It's been an age, my sweet Elizabeth. Yet, time has done nothing to mar your beauty," the Witchqueen purred, her voice dripping with humor.
"Well, I am a vampire. I don't age like mere mortals. But you, Elena, how many poor souls have you sacrificed to keep that youth of yours intact?" she teased.
"Just a couple of thousands " Elena's smile widened. They were clearly more than just acquaintances to be so comfortable in each other's company.
"My sweet Elizabeth, you haven't changed one bit," Elena purred, rising from her throne to meet her old friend halfway. The Witch Queen's strides were confident and commanding, with the grace of a ruler.
Elizabeth returned her smile with genuine warmth, stepping forward to embrace her long time friend. The two women held each other in a tight embrace, their closeness a testament to their long-standing friendship.
