"It is time," I said as I looked at the watch; the curfew had been lifted at 5 AM, as the missive stated, and people had come out of their homes and clouded the sky.
I had not gone out; I had just observed them from my porch before coming back. There are too many things for me to do in so little time. Since I had woke up since dawn, I had trained for an hour and spend one hour in my Inheritance space, not to forget cooking and eating breakfast.
'And it is time to go to Adventure Plaza,' I thought and walked in golden sunshine before taking up the sky.
There were people everywhere, far more than they should have been. If I am not wrong, then the Devils Gate had brought out new people, the population of it had at least doubled.
Such numbers have surprised me; if it had been normal powerhouses, even kings, it would not have been a surprise what I saw in front of me area Emperors, above-average Emperors at that.
Allocating such numbers of Emperors is a great risk that Pyramid usually does not take in normal times.
If Pyramid could dispatch more than twenty Twenty Tyrants, including the Black Moon Corps, then sending a few thousand Emperors is no big thing.
Thud!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtA few minutes later, I landed in the plaza amidst thousands of Emperors; the Tyrants had not arrived yet, but they will soon.
Chew Chew
As I was amidst the Emperors listening conversation around, replying if someone had talked when Ashlyn chirp rang out in my mind and completely different scenery appeared.
I saw Grimm Monsters coming out of their Fort, and they are covering the whole sky before dispersing throughout the forest.
'Fuck!'
I couldn't help but curse in my mind; it is not the Grimm Monsters that had shocked me; it is their numbers; they are huge, almost doubles as our numbers, and I would not be scared seeing the Grimm Monsters always have a larger number than us, it is nothing new.
What is scary about this thing is that Grimm Monsters does not have one Fort; they have three, and if the other two forts have also released the same numbers of the Grimm Monsters, then we will be fucked.
Five times more Emperors are scary odds; if it Kings are lower, it would not have been this serious problem but being Emperors changes things.
Grimm Monsters have a greater number of powerhouses than us, but they do not have enough that they would throw around as many as they wanted. Especially the Emperor level powerhouses.
Them sending out such a large amount of Emperors means the thing is more serious than I had thought before, and dealing with such an amount of number would be extremely troublesome.
It is a good thing; they are have not come directly for battle and went to the forest. On the surface, it may look disadvantageous to the Grimm Monsters seeing such huge numbers; the direct battle would be more advantageous to them.
It is short-term benefits with a heavy casualty as we humans do not go down easily, especially when we are against such odds. If we know we are going to be defeated, then we make sure to give our enemy a bitter victory which is worse than defeat.
Sending all their Emperors is a strategic choice was keeping an eye on the future. In this way, they will produce more Tyrants, and it is Tyrants that instrumental in winning the wars and in making it, even if they have to sacrifice thousands of Emperors, they will do it.
This type of battle is also advantageous to us; we would also be creating some Tyrants from thousands of our Emperors.
People assume it is quick battles that made the powerhouses, but they are; they quick battles shine the powerhouse; it is a constant and gradual battle that produces the powerhouses more efficiently.
Suddenly, I felt the powerful aura around me, and I instantly cut my connection with Ashlyn and looked ahead.
As I had expected, the Tyrants have arrived, and there are nine of them in the lead of Sir Geroge. These are official Tyrants of Devil Gate, the ones I had read about in intel that the teacher had given me.
There was no sign of Black Moon Lady or other Tyrants I saw through Ashlyn's eyes in the past month.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"The war is imminent," Sir Sheldon said, drawing out sharp breath from all the Emperors; even I am surprised hearing those words coming out of his mouth as the first sentence despite expecting him to say something like that.
Though I had expected these words after some soft words, it seemed like Sir Sheldon is the man who likes to go straight to the point.
"I am sure you all have noticed that throughout the years, the advances of the Grimm Races have made greater than the past," He said, and nearly all the Emperors nodded.
The Grimm Monsters have been attacking more and more territories, with greater numbers than they usually do.
"The situation had reached the tipping point that now, war could erupt at any moment," He said with a louder voice, making some of the Emperors surprised; some still are not understanding the gravity of the situation we are in.
One can not blame them, here all the Emperors are below fifty years of age. We have never fought a huge war; we have may have fought battles where millions participated, but it nothing compared to war.
"So, I ask you to prepare yourself for war, from today you are going to get a glimpse of it," He said, and his expression became hard.
"In the forest, there are more than five-time your numbers Grimm Monsters waiting for you, and I want you all to slay them till the river of Grimms Blood begin to flow through the forest!" He roared.
For a moment, everything was silent before defeating blazing shouts roused from the Emperors.
"WAR WAR WAR WAR!"
