Chen Xing watch her Boss open the door leading to a simple bedroom. There was a large, spacious bed pushed against a wall, a closet, and a door leading to a bathroom. Her eyes swept to the untouched bed then moved towards the nightstand where the drawer was opened a bit. This was wrong. It was wrong. Alarms went off in her head, red flags were waving in the distance.
He guided her to the bed and pushed her down onto it. ’This is wrong.’ Her brain screamed at her, while her heart yearned for her boss’ touch. He began to unbutton her shirt.
’Zheng Tianyi is your boss. If you sleep with your boss once, he will take advantage of you again and again.’
Chen Xing’s eyes closed when his lips latched upon her neck. The angel on her shoulder was whispering the painful truth to her. This will not be a simple one nightstand.
His hands were slipping lower now and just like her, he was having second thoughts on this. This woman was his secretary and though she was not the best one, she stuck to his side throughout all of his temper tantrums.
An image of Xia Mengxi flashed across his mind, tears pooling in those doey eyes of hers. A flash of pain slammed his heart.
"This is wrong." She blurted out. It was right when he decided it was time to stop whatever this might escalate to.
"For once, you said something smart." Zheng Tianyi climbed off of her, adjusting his tie. He could not look her in the eye, not after what he had done.
Chen Xing was bewildered by the turn of events. She sat up and buttoned her blouse again, adjusting her top even though they did not engage in much.

She blinked. Her head snapped to Zheng Tianyi but he did not react to anything. He was too fixated on soothing out the non-existent creases on his suit. She awkwardly scratched her head. Perhaps her ears were playing tricks on her.

"Ruqin, whatever you have on your schedule today, cancel it." Yang Feng ordered his younger sister when he saw what time it was. Chen Gaonan was impatiently tapping his foot, anxiously chewing his nails. Time was ticking and many meetings were approaching. He did his best to push them after lunch. Lunchtime was coming to an end. His boss had to return to the company now.
"And my love," He turned to Zhao Lifei who was distracted by the gorgeous dress in her hands. It was the color of midnight-blue and depending on the angle that light shines upon it, a slightly lighter shade would be revealed. Diamonds were sewn onto it where the tiniest movements would create an illusion of light.
"Behave yourself." Yang Feng rested his hand at the back of her head, keeping it in place while he bent his head to give her a goodbye kiss on the forehead. Much to his disliking, he kept it PG-13. "Please." He exasperated when she raised her head to flash him a smile. An arrow pierced his heart, straight from cupid’s bow. If Chen Gaonan was not hovering behind him, he would’ve stolen her lips just as she had stolen his heart.
"I will." She reassured him. "With your people here, where could I go?"
"My men have not forgotten the IV pole incident. Do not repeat it." Yang Feng sternly said. He kept his eyes leveled with hers while he reached for the remote control on the nightstand. "The TV here has access to every channel you can think of. There’s no advertisement in any of them. I had the staff set up movies as well." He took her delicate hand and placed the remote onto her open palm.
"Shall I also bark for you?"
"Lifei." He gave her a warning stare. He was not going to take ’no’ for an answer. Not with that maniac lurking in the corners of the city.
"I’ll be good. Okay? I promise." She reached up and used two fingers to smooth the creases on his forehead. She was worried he was going to get wrinkles early and it was all going to be because of her.
She stuck out a pinky to him. "Here, I’ll even pinky promise."
"You’re such a kid." He sighed, shaking his head. Nonetheless, he hooked their pinkies together and sealed the promise with their thumb.
"Alright, mother hen, it’s time to leave." Yang Ruqin piped up from behind Yang Feng. She was eager to tell Zhao Lifei everything that happened in the past four days, especially the blind date.
Yang Feng shot Yang Ruqin a dirty look that made her skin crawl. She dropped her gaze. He turned back to Zhao Lifei, "I love you."
Yang Ruqin made a gagging face behind her brother’s back.
"I love you more. Now off you go." She shooed him off with her hand. He gave her one last kiss on the forehead and trudged to the door. Opening it halfway, he turned around one more time, shot her a mischievous wink and panty-dropping smirk. Then he left.
"Finally!" Yang Ruqin slouched her shoulders and tossed herself onto the bed, her back hitting the soft mattress first. "I thought he would never leave." She turned her head to Feifei, shooting her a dirty glare.
"Just you wait, Feifei, I will make you pay one day."
"For what?" Zhao Lifei mused, raising her hand and pinching Yang Ruqin’s nose. She wiggled it and Yang Ruqin swatted the hand.

"You did the same to me. It was only one blind date in comparisons to the twenty-four you set me up for." Zhao Lifei kicked off the blanket and walked to the humidifier. She decided it was time to change the essential oil being used.
"But that’s because I knew you didn’t have any suitable partners in your life! There are some in mine!" Yang Ruqin raised her head and slammed it onto the bed repeatedly. One person, in particular, saw her leave the private dining room with Huo Qiudong. Needless to say, she had to block at least five new phone numbers. She would block one, and the persistent Yu Pingluo would use another person’s phone!
"Someone in your life? Like who?" Zhao Lifei dropped in a blood orange scent and instantly, the sweet, citrus smell filled the room. She walked to one of the windows that seemed to be pushed open. She closed it so that the humidified air would not be overwhelmed by the city air.
"That’s not important—"
"I believe it is the most important topic of today." Zhao Lifei placed the essential oil’s bottle down and maneuvered her way back onto the bed, rolling Yang Ruqin out of the way. "Does it have something to do with Yu Pingluo?"
"Don’t say his name! What if you jinx it and he’s watching us from somewhere?!" Yang Ruqin shot out of bed, her eyes frantic.
"Oh please, where can he see us from? The doors are guarded." Zhao Lifei poured herself a glass of water and offered one to Yang Ruqin who shook her head.
"You don’t understand! He’s an assassin—damn it." Yang Ruqin slapped a hand onto her mouth. She wanted to slap herself and that big mouth of hers!
"He’s an assassin?" Zhao Lifei quipped a brow. Woah, where did Yang Ruqin find such a scary ex-lover? She thought Yang Yulong would be the overprotective type that would not let such a dangerous man near his younger sister... She had a theory they must’ve met in the Underworld or something. It was a far-stretch assumption, given the fact that Yang Ruqin was always heavily monitored when she was in the headquarters.
"Yes. He specializes in killing from afar—Oh my god." Yang Ruqin scrambled out of the bed and her foot slipped on the blanket. Her fast reflexes came in and she did a flip forward before she slipped.
The window! What if he was looking into the hospital room from a distance? With a sniper! She ran to the window and paranoidly looked at the buildings in front of them. She didn’t spot anything. To be better safe than sorry, she closed all of the curtains.
Zhao Lifei wanted to clap her hand at Yang Ruqin’s flip. That was very impressive. It seems the training was paying off! She felt like a proud mother watching her child finally mature and grow up.
