Chapter: 148
Brian’s voice called from behind.
He was fighting to keep his tone calm, but slight tremors escaped him.
Rosalynn did as he had instructed, but the horse kept on running uncontrollably.
“I can’t! It’s not stopping!” Rosalynn shouted. Her face turned pale as the horse ran straight, coming

from the bracelet and pricked the neck of the horse.
The animal neighed, its four hooves rising from the ground.
Rosalynn leaned back from the movement.
‘She was going to fall!
The dazzling sunlight burned her eyes, forcing them close.
Rosalynn held her breath, waiting for the inevitable impact of her body hitting hard earth.
But the foreseen moment never arrived. She felt warm arms wrap around her body, a familiar scent
engulfing her.
The next second, her body was being lifted and carried.
At the absence of perceived danger, Rosalynn finally opened her eyes, her gaze meeting Brian’s.
Worry was written all over his face.
Once again, Brian had saved her from certain harm.
His breath was still heavy.

Unthinkingly, her hands tightened on his clothes, and she couldn’t find words to answer him.
The spell was broken by the sound of horses’ hooves growing louder. Chaz and his wife had come,
along with some others.
“Are you okay?” Dayana dismounted from her horse with the help of her husband. Her face was lined
with worry.
“We’re alright.” Brian helped Rosalynn off the horse.
