Chapter 243 Looking for a Job Recently

Freya spent half the day at the research institute before leaving in the afternoon.

She checked the time and realized that it was only 4 p.m.

Seeing that there was still plenty of time left, she drove straight to Evergreen University.

When she arrived at the school gate, Freya sent a text message to Melissa. ‘Where are you?’

Melissa texted her back shortly. Frey, I’m studying in the library.

After sending the message, Melissa also attached a picture of herself studying, accompanied by thick books and

numerous notes.

Freya took a look and asked a student on the way to find the library’s location.

Cars were not allowed on the campus of Evergreen University, so Freya strolled along the small path, surrounded

by youthful college students.

With her eight-month pregnant belly, she was quite conspicuous.

Students would occasionally look at her.

Twenty minutes later, Freya arrived at the library of Evergreen University.

After entering, she quickly found Melissa among the crowd.

Thinking of this, Freya raised an eyebrow. This young couple is quite affectionate.

When Melissa almost hit her head again, she opened her sleepy eyes and looked up, only to see Freya in front of

her.

Feeling as if she was dreaming, she rubbed her eyes. “Oh no! Benjamin, why do I feel like I’r seeing Freya?”

Meanwhile, Benjamin glanced at Freya silently. He had seen Freya when he was at the Monaghan Residence before.

He immediately stood up nervously.

“Miss Freya.”

Freya raised her lips and greeted, “Hi, Mr. Anderson. We have met again.”

Melissa finally reacted and suddenly became energetic. “Frey, why do you have time to come and see me today?”

“Just came to see how well you’re studying, but I couldn’t find your advisor.” Freya casually lied.

The mere mention of studying made Melissa visibly guilty.

When Freya saw this, she had a clear understanding in her heart. Turning to look at Benjamin, she said, “Benjamin,

now that you and Melissa are actually dating, do supervise her more in her studies.”

Benjamin nodded. “Don’t worry, Miss Freya. I’ll take care of Melissa’s studies.”

Melissa eagerly said, “Frey, you’re not in a hurry to leave, right? Why don’t Benjamin and I treat you to a meal?”

With a wave of her hand, Freya dismissed her by saying, “Forget it. How can I let you treat me to a meal? Let me

treat you both instead.”

Since she was already at Evergreen University, Freya picked up her phone and sent a message to Edward and

Hannah.

Later, the five of them left Evergreen University together. There were many restaurants around the university, and

Freya chose one based on Hannah’s recommendation.

After entering the restaurant and ordering their food, Edward fixed his gaze on Freya the whole time.

He hadn’t seen her since Braxton’s engagement party.

“Well, Edward, how have your studies been recently?” Freya asked with a smile.

Blushing slightly, Edward answered, “Frea, my grades have been pretty good recently.”

Melissa interjected, “Frey, you don’t need to worry about Edward. His grades are among the best in our school.”

Freya nodded and was about to ask Hannah next when she saw Hannah turn her head with a guilty look, not giving

her a chance to speak at all.

Such a silent rejection was considered her answer.

The five of them ate and chatted. Melissa chattered on and on, telling Freya the interesting things that happened at

school.

It was already 6 p.m. by the time they finished eating. Freya drove them back to the school

gate.

She watched Melissa and Benjamin walk into the school. Finally, her worries were put to rest.

In truth, Freya came to Evergreen University today specifically to see Benjamin again.

After spending time together, she felt that Benjamin’s character and values should be acceptable.

With that in mind, Freya started the car and planned to return to the Kaufmann Residence.

Before the car started, there were a few knocks on the car window.

Freya turned around and saw Jamie, Edward’s older brother, standing outside.

He had a surprised look on his face.

Freya rolled down the car window. “Mr. Fraser, what are you doing here?”

With a smile, Jamie explained, “I originally came to find Eddie, but his classmate told me he went out for dinner, so I

gave up.”

Upon hearing that, Freya smiled. “I just dropped off Edward a moment ago. If you have something to tell him, you

can call him now. He should be able to come out soon.”

Jamie waved his hand. “Forget it. I just wanted to see him.”

After that, he looked at Freya with some hesitation. “Miss Kaufmann, can you do me a favor and drop me off at the

nearest subway station?”

Considering the subway station next to Evergreen University was not far away, Freya readily agreed.

The two of them chatted while on the way.

“How is your recovery going, Mr. Fraser?”

“It’s going well.” Jamie’s eyes flashed slightly. “My body has almost fully recovered. I’ve been looking for a job and

preparing to start working.”

Working, huh.

During dinner tonight, Freya heard Edward mention his brother having trouble finding a job.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Freya asked, “Mr. Fraser, you haven’t been working for a long time since you

were sick in bed, right?”

With that, Jamie nodded. “I lost my previous job because of my illness.”

Freya hesitated for a few seconds and then continued, “What was your major in college?”

Jamie smiled politely. “Computer Science?”

Computer Science? That’s somewhat relevant.

I remember the Kaufmann Group’s Network Security Department is currently in need of a few staff.

After giving it a thought, she made him an offer. “Mr. Fraser, if you don’t mind, you can come to the Kaufmann

Group for an interview. Our company’s Network Security Department currently has a job opening.”

Jamie was pleasantly surprised. “Is that really possible? After all, the Kaufmann Group is a large corporation, and

there are high requirements. I’m worried that I won’t meet the interview standards.”

“Why do you say so?” Freya smiled. “Edward told me you graduated from a prestigious university and are

competent. On the contrary, I think it’s somewhat a waste of your talent to place you in the Network Security

Department.”

Jamie smiled.

“Those aren’t important to me at the moment. I just want to take on the responsibility of supporting my family as

soon as possible. Edward had a tough time during the time I was
