Edward held his phone tightly. His expression was surprisingly more conflicted than Freya’s when she was in the
banquet hall earlier.
Jamie leaned back on the sofa and rested his arms on both sides. He fixed his gaze on his younger brother.
“Edward, have you ever thought about fighting for yourself?”
“What do you mean?” Edward asked, confused.
“Freya.”
After a moment of silence, Edward tightened his grip on his phone as he answered, “Jamie, she sees me as a
younger brother. I’m like a family to her.”
Being treated like her own brother, he felt so close yet so far from her.
He smiled bitterly. A hint of helplessness appeared on his handsome face. “Whenever Frea spends time with me,
she’s relaxed, as though she doesn’t see me as a man.”
“Isn’t that a good thing?” Jamie sat taller. “What’s the point of keeping up the act? You should tell her your
feelings.”
“I-I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
Once Freya discovered his feelings for her, knowing her, she would definitely start to avoid him, just like what she
did to that guy from the Hood family.
She was resolute and only hesitated when it came to Radley.
Jamie fell silent for a moment. “Edward, think carefully. It might be your only chance to tell her your feelings.”
Edward nodded. The whistling kettle in the kitchen interrupted them.
He
got up
and went into the kitchen. Later, he returned with a cup of ginger tea. “Jamie, something has been bothering me
for a while.”
Jamie paused as if he knew what Edward was going to ask. “If you’re not sure whether you should ask or not, leave
it be.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“But, Jamie, how did you get seriously injured before? You have been changing jobs after Dad. and Mom passed
away, but I always feel like those weren’t your real jobs.” Edward held Jamie’s gaze. “I didn’t want to pry, but now
you’re working in the Kaufmann Group.”
And known by your colleagues as a gentle and charming special assistant. Edward completed the
sentence in his mind.
He knew Jamie better than anyone else. Those aren’t the true him.
In the past, he didn’t want to ask. But now, it involved the Kaufmann family and Freya, so he had to find out.
Jamie placed the cup on the table. “Now what? ‘Frea’ is more important than Jamie?”
“That’s not what I meant-
“All you need to know is that I won’t hurt the person you like.” Jamie returned to his room after the statement.
As soon as he entered the bedroom, coldness and soberness replaced the intoxication in his
eyes.
He lit a cigarette on the balcony before tossing the suit jacket he loathed onto his messy bed.
His phone buzzed, so he picked it up and checked the notification.
‘LEV’
‘Newest Message’
After he entered the password, a message popped out.
White Wolf: ‘Strategist, The Green Flamation forum has learned about Moonblade. Boss asked me to seek your
advice. Should we strike?”
After pondering for a moment, Jamie flipped the ash of his cigarette and replied to the
message.
Strategist: ‘Moonblade is being watched by The Green Flamation forum and Radley. If the Kaufmann family finds
her, they won’t hesitate to hunt her down. Are you trying to declare war against The Green Flamation forum, or the
Monaghan family and the Kaufmann family?’
The reply came quickly. ‘I just asked Boss, and Boss said it’s not time yet!’
Jamie typed his reply. ‘Since they know her face, we need to give her a new one!
Shoving the phone back in his pocket, he stretched lazily before walking into the room to pick up his suit jacket from
the bed.
He used the stand steamer in the room to iron his jacket carefully.

Meanwhile, on Pink Beach in Hartterre, it had been two days since the organizing committee’s last update. It
seemed like they had left room for the production team.
Freya had been busy over the past two days. She took the opportunity to ask about Brisa ast she continued her
mission.
At first, Inken was rather optimistic. However, he became more and more serious about the matter over time.
The police seemed to have found something in their investigation, so they refused to release Brisa. Even when the
Callahan family pressured them, they wouldn’t give an inch.
Freya and Inken looked into Brisa’s missions for The Green Flamation forum over the
years.
Although The Green Flamation forum was the largest trading forum on the dark web, there were never any
missions that were out of line under the Ink’s supervision.
The free task page was the only exception, but Brisa never accepted any mission from that. section.
Freya and Inken took two days to find an explanation, but their effort was wasted.
Freya appeared to be calm during her stay in the villa, but she had made. up her mind.
If there’s still no news tomorrow, I’ll quit the contest. Inken and I need to find a way to rescue Brisa.
At 4 p.m., the sun set at the horizon, painting the sky orange. The tide rose, and the waves repeatedly lapped
against the shore and receded.
Freya carried a small bucket as she walked on the beach. It was already full of seashells.
When she picked up the seashells, all she could think of was Brisa.
She kept walking until she reached the end of Pink Beach. Due to the program, the production team had reserved
the Pink Beach.
But, the other areas were still open to tourists. Freya looked into the distance and found a group of boys in their late
teens playing volleyball by the beach.
“Youngsters have so much energy,” she lamented before walking away.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBefore she could make it far, she felt pain in her back. After she got hit by the volleyball, the boys immediately ran
to her.
“I’m so sorry. Are you okay?” they asked.
It’s Your Only Chance
She glanced in the direction of the volleyball net. Even if they missed their aim, they wouldn’t have hit her in the
first place.
“I’m fine.” She dismissed them, intending to leave.
The boys exchanged glances and quickly sidestepped to block her path.
She realized that the drone in the air was recording.
Her body tensed up at the sight. What are they trying to do? It’s a live stream!

Under her vigilant eyes, the boy in charge slowly kneeled as he handed a love letter to her.
“Miss Kaufmann, I’m your fan! I fell for you since I first saw you on the live broadcast!” The boy’s face turned red in
excitement. “I’m ‘Faith. Do you remember me?”
She stared at him speechlessly. Of course, I remember you. You rank among the top twenty of my fans.
The fans who made it to the top twenty must at least “donate” more than a million during her livestream.
Freya studied the boy, not expecting him to be so young.
“Thank you for your support. I remember you, but I can’t return your feelings,” she concluded with a smile.
The boy fidgeted. “Why? Is it because of our age gap?”
She replied, “Yes, you’re too young for me.”
“What kind of man do you like then?” The boy pondered for a moment before suggesting, “Is it someone like
Edward?”
Edward?
Freya chuckled. “He’s like a little brother to me. Your words can lead to misunderstandings. So, please don’t make
random guesses.”
“Then, perhaps someone like Radley?”
She fell silent for a few seconds before answering, “I like someone like Inken.”
The boys finally left in disappointment, so Freya picked up her small bucket to leave.
In the monitor room, the director’s back was drenched in sweat. He felt as if he was sitting next to a grim reaper,
and the room temperature had dropped sharply.
