Chapter 58 Willow was about to say that she was forced into it, but she stopped herself after meeting Lara's stern gaze.

"What? Go on, tellwho the children's father is! You refused to talk about him all these years! You should have him take responsibility for raising them too even if you don't intend to be with him," Lara pressed.

If only Willow would seek out the children's father and have him shoulder part of the responsibility, she wouldn't have to work so hard.

"Mom, I said I don't know. Stop asking me." Willow refused to discuss this sold topic again.

She would've gone searching long ago if she knew who the children's father was.

She couldn't possibly tell Lara that she was raped in their hometown. Lara might just go hysterical and bawl her eyes out.

"You're such a troubling child." Lara sighed helplessly.

She had asked so many times, yet Willow wouldn't tell her which heartless man was it that abandoned his children! The children were enjoying their breakfast that morning.

Willow happily served them more food.

Lara said, "Since you have tnow, let's go back to our hometown today." "Why do we need to go back?" Willow asked, feeling confused.

"Today is the death anniversary of your cousin, Yvette. Your aunt called to ask that we go back to pay our respects," Lara answered.

Willow felt melancholic at the mention of Yvette. The smile on her face disappeared.

Yvette was the daughter of her Aunt Helen and Uncle Easton. Her aunt and uncle adored Yvette, and they were a very happy family. However, Yvette accidentally fell into a pond when she was playing outside as a child. There was no one around back then, so she ended up drowning.

Willow's uncle fell ill due to complicated grief and passed on a few years later, leaving Helen all alone.

Every year, the family would visit Yvette and Easton's grave.

After breakfast, Willow booked train tickets for their journey back.

As the family of six arrived at the village entrance, a luxurious car drove past them.

It was dangerously close to Willow and almost ran into her.

Fortunately, Willow was quick to react. She hurried aside so she wouldn't get knocked over. She turned to see that the black car had stopped at the village square near the entrance.

Most of the villagers tend to gather at the square for leisure and entertainment.

The car door opened and a sultry and fashionably dressed woman stepped out. She had on heavy makeup with thick foundation, and bright red lipstick. She even wore sunglasses as well as eight-inch heels.

Upon leaving the car, she tousled her long hair and said, "My, it's so tiring to sit in such a luxurious car. My waist is aching."

"Isn't that Samantha? What car is that? It looks so cool. I've never seen such a nice car before one of the elderly villager's approached Samantha with shining eyes. He looked at the black luxury car Samantha was leaning against, then back at Samantha, visibly astonished. "This is an Audi. It costs five hundred thousand," Samantha answered proudly with her bright red lips, emphasizing the words 'five hundred thousand'.

"Five hundred thousand? You're so rich. Samantha, you're doing really well. You're the richest person in our village," the elderly praised, giving Samantha a thumbs up Samantha relished in the villagers' praises and admiration with her head held high. She had stopped her car on purpose to receive everyone's compliments and respect. "Huh? Who's that with all those luggage and four children? Is that Willow?" another villager announced after noticing the family of six who were walking towards them, panting.

"It's Willow all right. Look at her, bringing four children and carrying all that luggage on her own. She's here to visit too but fook at this difference," the elderly woman who had been praising Samantha earlier sneered as she looked in Willow's direction.
