“Listen to me, child. Do not... continue looking into the Florentine family.”
Clint did not answer. Logic seemed to be part of the Melton family’s identity. No matter how big or small the matter, they would
always look at it from a logical viewpoint. However... there were always exceptions.
“There are always exceptions...” Clint had an ugly look on his face as he replied frostily, accidentally revealing his innermost
thoughts.
“l... I don’t want to think of anything else... | don’t want to think of anything. At least... | know that a person’s life is about toe
to an end... |... | want to save her, Dad.
"As for what sort of emotions | hold... I'm not sure, but this is the first tI've experienced such emotions. If Rainie disappears, I...
No, I'll never let her disappear. So, I'm sorry, Dad. Please ive me.”

Clint made to disconnect the call after he finished his last sentence. However, Reggie suddenly spoke up, “The Florentine family’s
residence is in Denford. I'll send you the address in a bit... It shouldn't take you more than half an hour by car.”
Clint sincerely thanked him before he hurried to the parking lot and began driving.
Reggie leaned back against the couch in the Clint residence and sighed softly after he hung up the phone.
Behind him, an elderly man wearing a long-sleeved shirt chuckled. “So similar. You guys are so alike.”
“What?” Reggie asked.
“He's exactly how you used to be when you were younger.”
“Hey, you old thing, are you teasing me?” Reggie asked with a grin on his face.
“Of course not. I'm praising you. Your kid has the sbrave determination you used to have, and that’s not an easy feat to
achieve.”
“Gosh.” Reggie sighed as he massaged his head.
“Who knows what sort of trouble he'll get himself into this time?”
“How could that be called trouble...” the old man said as he grinned.
“Haha, | understand what you mean, Mr. Reggie. Why don’t you wait and see what happens? Who knows, Mr. Clint might even
bring home—"

“Haha, you're right, Mr. Reggie. You're absolutely right.”
In the Florentine residence, Rainie knelt before the elders of her family.
Zaden's face had turned red because of how pissed off he was. He glared at Rainie as she knelt and begged for iveness, and
his anger only increased.
He drew his whip out and slashed it toward her.
“Then, what should we do?” Zaden asked as he put away his whip.
e on, didn’t she say she wanted to see her sweetheart? Bring him here.”
A moment later, Rainie’s childhood sweetheart, Nigel, was brought forward.
