Chapter 82: Amanda (2)
Did meeting the thing that possessed her count?
As I nodded my head in hesitant, the expression on their faces changed again.
“Then, will you go?” Senior Dino asked with a frown on his face.
I blinked my eyes once. I really had no idea what they were talking about.
“Go where?”
“Didn’t she tell you why she came to you?” This time, it was Mia who asked in curious tone.
She wanted to kill me, yes, she did say so. But, judging from the looks of it, that was not the case.
.....
“Actually, we didn’t talk much and she left in a hurry.” This was true. ‘Amanda’ was busy fighting Tom and she left in a hurry after almost being killed by Tom.
“I see...” Mia nodded.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI counted every second passed and I was sure there was something wrong with them. It was like they wanted to tell me something but they had no idea where to start.
“Okay. What do you want to tell me?”
I stared at them one by one, forcing them to voice out what was hiding inside their minds that they wanted to tell me. But, they still didn’t talk.
“Is it about Senior Rizal?” I guessed. Seeing the change in their expressions, I knew I was right. “I know I may sound cruel, but I have nothing to do with him.” I shrugged my shoulders as I raised my hands, gesturing ‘don’t count me in whatever plans you have inside your head’.
“He is sick.” Senior Mario said hastily, obviously ignoring me.
“Like, very sick.” Senior Dino added.
Both of them had the fiery look in their eyes. It was like they were desperate but helpless, too.
“I know it’s not fair for you, but the one he wants to see is you.” Senior Dino lowered his head in guilt.
“Amanda was clearly upset when he called out your name, but she could do nothing. That’s why we asked you if she came to you or not.” There was hint of amusement when Senior Mario said the first sentence.
“Jane, I think you should come and see Senior Rizal.” Mia didn’t say it, but from her gaze, I knew Senior Rizal had it hard.
Taking a deep breath, I paused for a second before I finally nodded. “I’ll go and visit him later.”
The three of them let out a sigh of relief as smile plastered on their faces. But, it was not a happy kind of smile. It was like they were relief that I agreed to their absurd request, but at the same time felt guilty about it.
Thus, I decided not to torture them any longer. “Well, I gotta go back.” I stood up and waved them goodbye.
As I walked back to my dorm, I saw someone familiar was standing near the campus gate.
Senior Hani? What is he doing here?
Because I thought we were that close to talk to each other, I walked past him after greeting him. Who would have thought he would come at me and grabbed my wrist?
I was startled and turned to look at him. His grip on my wrist was painful and I had already frowned in pain but he didn’t look like he would release me.
“Senior, what is it? Can you let my hand go, please? It hurts!” I winched and hissed in pain as his grip on me was getting tighter.
Still, he was silent. I peered at his slightly lowered face and noticed his empty eyes and hard face. It stunned me seeing him like this. If I recalled correctly, he had a tsundere personality and tended to blush whenever I was involved. But, seeing how he could grab my hand without blushing, I was sure of one thing.
He was possessed!
But, I didn’t see any black mist surrounded him. Was I too late and it had merged with him?
What thing possessed him? It was strange. No matter how much I tried to talk to him, he would not speak. The weirdest thing was it was the main gate of campus, yet no one was here for these couples of minutes.
It was like I was trapped in a conspiracy. Someone was obviously plotted against me. Someone had planned this from the very beginning.
As it dawned to me, my surrounding was suddenly turned dimmer. The previous sunny sky turned cloudy in a second, the temperature dropped and wind suddenly blew from out of nowhere. It was like I was moved to another dimension.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAs if it was not bad enough, shrill cries were heard in the sky. Following that, I saw countless black shadows covering the already dim sky.
I didn’t need someone to tell me what they were. They were ghost, of course!
Someone was summoning them. As I thought so, I heard someone chanted in a whisper, getting louder and louder, and the bellowing and cries from those entities were the answers to the chants.
I willed myself to stay strong and to be more alert. I was scared, yes, but in this situation, I would not allow myself to be defeated. No matter what happened, I needed to stay brave. As I repeatedly told myself to be strong, that I would be okay, I could feel a stream of warmth flow through my veins and warm my body. The fear I felt was gone and I could only feel myself becoming calmer and calmer.
It might be my hallucination, but I felt I was not alone. I felt I had a very strong power supporting me from somewhere.
As I was getting calmer, my mind turned clearer than ever now that fear was not clouding me. I looked at the tight grip Senior Hani had on me. He was still standing there with empty eyes and expressionless. Ignoring this puppet, I tried to scan my surrounding which was full of ghost no matter where I looked.
I only had one goal inside my mind; to find the mastermind of this whole creepy thing.
As my eyes set on the gate, I sensed a familiar creepy and disgusting power came from behind of it.
“Come out, I know you’re there.” I said calmly.
Another creepy laughter was heard, overpowering the other laughs. From behind the gate, a figure came out and shot me a terrifying look.
Her eyes were wide opened and her mouth formed a cruel smile. Her beautiful feature contorted into malicious and hideous form. Black mist turned like a raging black flame, licking her previously fair skin. Her fingers turned into claws and her slender body grew bigger and taller, probably over two meters. Her current appearance was far from her beautiful and elegant self like the first time I saw her.
“Amanda.” I sneered. She was indeed Amanda, Senior Rizal’s wife.
“Jane. Harris.” Her soft and beautiful voice even turned ugly.
I guessed we should never judge a book by its cover!
