Having Lourain choose the second level of difficulty was probably not too risky. After all, Lourain had improved a lot
while he was with Jack. Lourain had experienced a lot of things too.
In particular, Lourain had been able to constantly train and battle on the Toman Battlefield since Jack had been with
him.
Before entering the Radiant Hall, Lourain had even managed to get quite a lot of items to improve himself with the
spirit crystals that he earned.
Lourain was already incredibly close to becoming an above-average warrior and was just a tiny sliver away from
that level.
Lourain nodded. “I think I can do it. There's no way I can challenge the third level, but the second level shouldn't be
too big of a problem."

toward the White Abyss from within.
"My friend succeeded! I knew he would succeed!” A man in shorts said excitedly.
A warrior next to him scoffed and said, "It's just the second level of difficulty, did you need to be so happy about it?
If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that he succeeded in challenging the fourth level."
The man in shorts froze before saying angrily, "So what if it's the second level of difficulty? It's not something
everyone can pass. There have been those who died in the second level of difficulty before this! He's always been
careful, and that's why he chose the second level. With his skills, he would have even been able to challenge the
third level!"
After he said that, those that were around him immediately started to mock him. "Stop bragging, alright? What do
you mean he's always been careful? He's just someone who knows his place and knows that he isn't strong enough.
That's why he didn't pick a higher difficulty. Did you think he'd have let a chance to earn one more point slip? You
can say whatever you want, but don't think that we’re all idiots who would believe whatever you say."
They were bickering back and forth when the sixth Black Path suddenly let out a ray of black let.
Right after that, a figure was sent flying from the black light with a bang.
A corpse that was covered in injuries was thrown to the center of the plaza.
"No!" Someone shouted out as he rushed to the corpse, reaching out to hold the body that had already stopped
breathing.
His face was filled with anguish.
Seeing that scene, everyone sighed quietly. No one felt much pity since it had been that person's choice.
The body was full of claw marks. It was evident that the body had been injured by a beast. Some of the wounds
were so deep that bones could be seen. It made for an ugly sight.
The fatal wound was on the body's neck. There was a bite mark there, so the person was probably bitten to death.
The plaza was suddenly much quieter after the corpse appeared.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmQuite a few people exchanged solemn looks with each other.
This time, the test really was a huge test of character. If one was more careful, they would be able to leave the
place alive, but they would lose out on an opportunity as well.
Points were very important to them. Yet, if they chose something that exceeded their abilities, it was very possible
that they would lose their lives.
Lourain looked at that corpse, not able to say anything for a long time.
He remembered that the participant had chosen the fourth difficulty in the end and lost his life.
The next moments had more people passing or being tossed back to the Black Abyss as corpses.
Jack did not participate in the challenge immediately because he wanted to see what kind of skill was needed for
the various difficulties.
He finally got a clear view and had just wanted to tell Lourain when he heard an exclamation.
A black light lit up, meaning another participant died.
Lourain widened his eyes, "That direction... It's that participant named Mitchell..."
The moment Lourain said that, Mitchell's corpse was thrown out.
