Aside from special cases like the Devouring Centaurs, it was one of the oddities and unique points in 'Murim Supremacy' that monsters dropped nothing like a core, mana stone, or a crystal heart. However, things were different when it came to the Demon Lord himself.

Unlike the rest, he was a being granted a rare spatial authority! This authority would have easily been recollected and granted to a new Demon Lord if he died back home just like what happened in his case, but perishing in foreign land made it impossible to achieve a complete recall.

'Here you are.'

A clear crystal sphere, rather than being transparent, it was wholly white as if untainted by all wrong in the world. Unfortunately, three pitch-black lines ran through it interchangeably like cracks presenting its imperfection.

As Yeon's gaze froze upon it without making any movement, Leo bent down to grab the fist-sized crystal. Even then, Yeon's eyes remained the same. The crystal sphere wasn't the one object buried in the dirt, one more spherical object was right next to it. Only, this one was as large as a football and scarlet in color.

"Go ahead and get it, Yeon."

It was crazy to see it on the outside, but this was actually the Heavenly Demon's Dantian. A legacy that each society leader leaves to their successor!

Leaving behind a Dantian that was a spiritual object in nature made no sense. However, the methods of the Heavenly Strength Society couldn't be judged through common sense to begin with. It was usually conducted through a succession ceremony, but preserving their Dantian was a special method only used when death was imminent.

Naturally, what the Dantian contained couldn't fall in the hands of an enemy or a nobody, so dealing with it was tricky. Only a Scarlet Sky Practitioner in the awakening phase or one that had already awakened could take possession of it. Otherwise, it would quickly self-destruct! That was precisely why Leo couldn't grab it himself.

"...Yes."

Although Yeon was still somewhat enchanted by the desire to grab hold of both crystals ever since she got closer to them, she slowly stepped forward after being reminded by Leo, putting her hand on the large sphere.

Being pat-down by Yeon, the dim crystallized Dantian shone as if it was brought back to life. The light show wasn't the end of its reactions, as if glued to Yeon's hand, it shrank down to fit her first, becoming almost the same size as the other sphere.

'So small yet so problematic.'

Despite the fact that basically, no one other than Yeon could hold the scarlet Dantian, the scavenger that Leo had killed just happened to possess a strange martial art that enabled him to transport it without direct contact. If Leo had been a slight bit late, he would have made off with both the spoils!

The rest of the war would have progressed normally in both cases, but what truly mattered was the problem that came after. Both objects were necessary for someone to ascend as the new Heavenly Demon, so both Yeon and Baekho would have gone looking for it only to be met with tragedy.

Through a plotline forced by the author, the scavenger turned out to be the only Demon Worshiper who still stuck to his idiocy, using their objectives to lure them to their death and take revenge for the Demon Lord. It wasn't a realistic endeavor considering the gap in ability, but personal strength wasn't always everything.

A person who had no regard for his own life had limitless potential. He knew well enough to lure them into a dormant volcano before waking it up and making the situation sticky…

'It was also a combo K.O.'

Naturally, two transcendents finding it hard to escape in time didn't make much sense either. However, the situation only got worse thanks to a third party being involved, it was none other than the protagonist himself.

Both for the sake of his final goal as well as his interest in Yeon, he had also picked up on the clues left by the mastermind as a lure and followed them there. As two who practically stood on two different sides, their meeting could only result in a clash. In particular, Beakho was pretty aggressive when fighting Geochin.

Not to mention the discomfort and the threat that he posed to Yeon, Baekho didn't risk the chance that their objectives would get stolen, thus destroying Yeon's future. He fought with the intent to kill, but the author had other plans…

'Nothing new…'

Although Leo enjoyed reading most of 'Murim Supremacy', it had its irritating points just like most other novels. Decisions or encounters that were simply too out of place just to retcon plot holes or remove obstacles, and Baekho suddenly recognizing Geochin as a target of trust in the middle of everything was one such thing!

After being too caught up in the battle to realize the raging volcano was about to wake up. All three had run out of time to escape, so while holding on to the injuries he received from Geochin, Baekho was supposed to accept his defeat and ask the protagonist to take care of Yeon before running towards the core of the eruption to hold it down at the expense of his life!

'However, that won't come to happen this time around.'

With Leo having the say as both Baekho and himself, there was no way he would accept his death just so that Geochin's romantic plot would smoothly progress!
