Grey and Rau could subconsciously feel a cold breeze blow along the back of their necks as they stared into Han’s eyes! Once he thought about killing them it was like the atmosphere changed immediately!
Han smiled and Rau actually took a step back! The smile wasn’t scary at all, but the contrast between the scary look in his eyes and how friendly the smile was just terrified him!
“Okay then. You kids can show us the way. But just keep in mind that if you try anything stupid, getting to the sixty-third floor will be the least of your worries, okay?”
Han spoke to the kids and Rau gulped as he quickly nodded!
Gregory completely missed the entire exchange between the three of them. He was already standing to one side and waiting for Han to finish talking to the children. He really didn’t like standing in a group at all! It made him very uncomfortable. I wonder why Han keeps trying to make me more social? I don’t even see the problem when I don’t talk to other people my age! I talk to everyone in the restaurant all the time! Even Yue is close to me now! How many friends does one guy need?
The truth was that Han just wanted Gregory to have better social skills. It might not be of need now, but Gregory will definitely need them later when they are dealing with the other kings. Han still remembers the sort of interaction Gregory had with Esse before he finally opened up to her. you would think Esse was Gregory’s worst enemy with how he was pushing her away!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe four of them started to walk towards the guild house together as Han and Gregory walked behind the two children. Han didn’t look around a lot as he walked and he tried his best not to draw too much attention to himself. He could hear his name coming from different places on this floor and it was obvious that his fame preceded him already. If he took off this cloak here for people to see his face then there will probably be a huge panic!
Han was interested in knowing more about this guild before he got there so he asked Rau to explain the guild system to him.
Rau seemed way too enthusiastic about it as he started to speak.
“Oh, the guilds!? They’re actually really cool! After the kings, the guilds are the third strongest entity in the entire temple! There is a central guild on floor eighty and there are various branches of the main guild on every floor under it. All the adventurers that don’t want to serve as a soldier under a king are usually registered under one of the branch guilds. If you want to move from one floor to another one, you have to get permission from the guild. It’s only when the guild says you’re strong enough to survive that the kings would allow you into their floor!”
Han was surprised. This seems like a very good system. It was to be expected though. If they didn’t bring up a good system in the thousands of years they have been here then I would have lost faith in all of them. But it’s strange how much they ignore the lower floors. Do they just assume that none of the people on the lower floors can achieve anything?
Okay, fine. Maybe the people down there are just weak as fuck. I can understand that much at least.
This was all very interesting to Han because this is the first time he was hearing about it. When he was busy fighting like a king he never even heard a single person talking about the guilds or how the system works. Han asked Rau how they decide whether someone is strong enough or not to go to a floor and Rau told him that they use a special kind of assimilation. This one ranks the adventurers based on ‘Tiers’. There are five tiers. The first tier is on a level equal to that dragon that Han fought when he came here and the fifth tier is on a level just below the tenth king ‘Quinthreath’. There are only two people in the fifth tier in the entire temple. They are the current number eleven and twelve on the rankings!
Han actually widened his eyes in surprise when he heard that the dragon was a first-tier only. So everyone here is stronger than that dragon!? Even this tiny boy!? Heh, this temple can be misleading sometimes. In fact, the entire system that the chosen have can be misleading. A tiny child can have more power than a dragon? What a messed-up system.
The four of them got to the guild in just a few minutes and once they entered through the wooden door all conversation inside died down. Han eyed the entire place from left to right and saw that most of the people here were dressed just like the adventurers he already saw outside! They were wearing weapons and talking while drinking ale and counting coins. There were a lot of people that began to tense as Han stood still and Han immediately realized that they were all looking at him. Were they waiting to see if he would attack? What a paranoid reaction!
The reason why they all stopped talking wasn’t that they thought Han was suspicious. Han wasn’t the first person that would try to hide his identity here and he sure as hell won’t be the last, but they were all silent because of his power level! They couldn’t feel his power level! They could only feel Gregory’s power and they knew that he was a white star, but Han was completely empty!
That only means one of two things. He either doesn’t have a star, or he is a black star. A very strong black star!
Gregory started to pull his weapon out of the shadow as the silence became suffocating and Han saw some of the adventurers getting up. Han grinned! Oh, you want to actually fight!? What will you even gain from that? How paranoid are you fuckers!?
[BloodLust] has been activated!
The people that stood up were immediately flattened by Han bloodlust! It was immense! They slowly sat back down and Han saw as most of the people here also started to put away their weapons. In the wild, certain animals would always try to act as harmless as possible so that predators don’t target them first. This was no different! Once people noticed that Han wasn’t a starless person but he was actually a black star they immediately reverted to their base instincts and put away their weapons!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHan began to walk inside while ignoring all the looks he was getting until he got to the counter. On the other side of the counter was a cat feline that looked at Han with a blank face. She was someone without a star and she has been the attendant here for hundreds of years so she understood that there will always be moments when fights could break out in the guild and that was why she was so calm. She was so used to this that she was now immune to it!
She bowed to Han and the people behind him as she started to speak in a professional manner.
“Hello and welcome to the guild. Would you like to take on a quest?”
Han shook his head and the woman was a bit surprised. If he isn’t taking on a quest, then why is he here? Does he want to register as a guild member? He is a black star so that couldn’t be possible.
The woman asked Han if he wanted to register and Han shook his head again.
“I need to get to the sixty-third floor and I was told I needed a guild badge before I could go there. I want one of those. How do we get it?”
The woman was shocked! With the sort of power she felt from Han, she thought he would already have access to floors that were higher than floor sixty-three! People, that are black stars usually already have access to every floor until floor eighty because they are strong enough to go up there even if they are alone, but Han doesn’t even have access to floor sixty-three? This is very strange!
Before the attendant could try to ask any other questions, someone walked up from behind the four of them. The attendant immediately bowed in respect as she saw who the woman standing there was. Han and the others turned around to see her.
The woman there was a dragon born with a tall, perfect figure. She was the leader of this branch of the adventurers guild and when she heard that there was a black star inside her guild, she immediately knew that she had to come and see who it was!
