There is a deafening silence for a short while before Sandhya spoke up.
"I am Sandhya, even though I don't like to admit it, the Makar Clan's leader is my father. So, I have an obligation to help him. I heard from his message that you said there is a disaster that is going to hit Makar city and you are here to save them.
But in the process, you tried to sell them a formation, so they felt a bit suspicious about it.
And rightfully so, if someone comes and claims that there is a disaster and they can only provide the solution, you ought to be a bit suspicious."
Sam stayed silent for a moment at this new information. He replied.
"While most of what you said is true, the order of the information is extremely incorrect.
I didn't approach them with the information about the disaster, I directly approached them with the formation that could increase their odds of safety. I was ready to sell it for a cheap price and the only condition I had was that the formation has to be installed immediately.
But your brother, Makar Junior got greedy and wanted the formation without fulfilling my condition.
Now you are saying that he is suspicious of me?"
Sandhya sighed as soon as she heard this.
Even though Makar Junior is related to her by blood, she is more willing to believe Sam's words, because it is something that Makar would do. She thought for a couple of minutes and said.
"Alright, let's make a deal.
I have enough authority on the planet and over the Makar clan right now to make any critical decision. Since you said the disaster is going to happen in the next two days, then so be it, you don't even have to prove it.
I will even cooperate with you to alleviate the disaster.
But by any chance if the disaster doesn't come. You must brace yourself for the wrath of the Mountain Temple."
Sam was a bit stumped by her suggestion.
He already resolved to himself that this is going to be a tough situation. But to his surprise, this woman made it easy for him. Sam is still constructing and reinforcing the formation, so he could indeed use some help.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt felt weird to do all the grunt work by himself.
As for whether he could trust them or not, Sam is not a bit worried.
The zone he created for himself around the city is in his complete control. Unless they want to experience a living hell, they wouldn't be stupid enough to do anything like trying to stab him in the back.
"Do you speak for all the young masters and their followers here?" Sam asked.
"Why? Are you scared that we would do something?"
One of the young masters asked as he couldn't contain himself. Seeing that Sam talked instead of just dealing with them, he thought Sam was intimidated.
Sam didn't say anything, but just a vine landed on the shoulder of the young master and he shrieked in terror as he jumped up.
"What the fuck?"
He cursed himself as the vine retreated.
"I speak for them too. They followed me here and if they want to do that they would obey my rules and if they don't do that they can go on their own way." Sandhya said, completely ignoring the young masters.
"Good to know. Welcome."
As Sam spoke, a path cleared out in the forest and the whole entourage soon led to a large empty patch where Sam is sitting leisurely while grilling some meat and drinking some wine.
Forest Bear is sitting near him as it feasted on some special honey-based food that Sam concocted.
The gigantic beast attracted the attention of the group.
Sandhya gestured her guards to stay before she walked up to Sam.
Sam stood up at this and the young masters are already glaring at him.
Sam ignored all of them and just smiled as he looked at Sandhya.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Sam."
"Sandhya."
"Haven't heard that name in a long time. It was pretty common in my hometown."
The young men glared at Sam fiercely. They clearly thought he was flirting with her.
Sandhya ignored what Sam said as well as what these young men are doing, she directly asked.
"So, what kind of disaster is going to hit the Makar clan?"
"I don't know to be exact, but if my guess is right it should be coming from the sea. I have been keeping an eye on the beasts in the surroundings they are all moving in the opposite direction of the Sea, their instincts are accurate most of the time."
"Why are you so sure that a disaster would strike here?"
"Because someone told me. And that person is way too reliable for me to just ignore."
"Anyway, as I said I am going to help with the defense of the city, so tell me what we need to do."
"I am building a formation that could resist all kinds of scenarios. A tsunami, an earthquake, a beast tide and even some other weird phenomenon that I could think of.
After examining the whole terrain inside out, the tsunami is the most likely one and the second probability would be the collapse of the city from under the ground. My formation should help with most of it."
"So, can we see the blueprint?"
"Of course, I would like to know how many people are going to involve themselves in the construction and reinforcement. Also, it would be better if I know the elemental affinities. So, that I can assign the tasks."
"I am a water element user. I am a decent formation master as well. I have two people in my guards who are proficient in formations, one of them doesn't have elemental affinity but the other has wood element affinity."
"That is great.
So, I am building a complex formation with multiple layers joined together. There are actually three formations that need to be infused with water elemental energy and two with wood elemental energy on the to-do list.
Here is the full blueprint."
Sam showed a small projection device that showed the blueprint.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAll the green highlighted parts are the ones that are already constructed, the yellow parts are to be constructed and the red parts mean you should leave them alone.
I have already marked the areas where you are supposed to make the formations. The detailed blueprints for these formations are also in the same device, The buttons on the bottom can help you operate it.
There is also a spirit infused in the device, so it will guide you through the operation.
Just one thing though.
The wood element formations need a lot of energy and control. The bear will come and help you guys out. He won't come in your way and you don't get on his wrong side, everything thing should work just fine."
Sandhya was dumbfounded.
"That beast can do formations?" Even before she could ask, one of the young masters asked.
Sam looked at him and said.
"That beast is smarter than a lot of people here. And it can do a lot of things that you can't imagine. Don't worry about its performance."
Before Sam could even say anything else, someone already raised their hand and said out loud.
"I would like to participate, I am good with inscriptions and formations."
Sam looked at him and said.
"Sure, come and grab some tasks then. Thanks for your help."
More and more people started coming forward. Of course, they are all young masters, the guards, and entourage didn't speak a word. They just followed their young master's orders.
Even if some of the young masters don't know shit, they took advantage of their guards knowing something and claimed credit for it.
Sam didn't care much about it. The situation is a bit dire for him and it doesn't matter how these guys do it, as long as they help him finish this up, then he is good with it. He only had the mission on his mind.
Sam went on to mind his own business after assigning the work, but everyone else had their minds blown. Including Sandhya who was actually quite aloof, she almost wanted to run back to Sam and ask him a load of questions.
Even though the blueprint is very detailed and she could construct it, she knew that a lot of theories are beyond her understanding. The young masters who are knowledgeable also felt the same.
While things are like this, the news about this situation reached Makar City.
"What the fuck? Sandhya and entourage are helping that bastard? They are buying into his con? What the fuck is wrong with him? Is she even my real sister? How can she be so fucking stupid?"
He yelled at his father who delivered the news.
