Chapter 210
"Don't move!" Lucy sensed something was off. She picked up her fork, dipped it into the soup, and tasted it. "So
salty!" She quickly gulped down a big glass of water. Fuming, she tossed the fork down. "Yasmine, Chuck has
gone too far!" Yasmine couldn't help but chuckle, "Stop drinking it."
Everything seemed normal afterward, and Chuck's face was plastered with a formal smile throughout the meal.
On the way back, Lucy's eyes conveyed an indescribable sadness and disappointment. "See, | told you, he
doesn't like me." Yasmine consoled her, "Don't worry, maybe he hasn't cto his senses yet, or he's just too
overwhelmed."
Lucy went habsentmindedly. After washing up, she lay in bed, her mind racing through the events at the bar
that day. Glancing at her phone, it was already eleven o'clock,
Lucy closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep, when her phone suddenly rang. Seeing the non the caller ID
almost made her drop her phone-it was Chuck. She hurried to answer but was so nervous that she accidentally
hung up instead. Her heart skipped a beat at the sound of the dial tone, but then the phone rang again. She
carefully picked up the call.
"What are you doing?" Chuck asked.
"H wasn't doing anything," Lucy replied.
The voice on the phone was urgent. "Cdownstairs." Chuck's voice was insistent, and he hung up right after.
Lucy looked out the window to see Chuck standing downstairs by her house. Her breathing quickened, and she
rushed downstairs in her pajamas. Chuck was leaning against his car, a cigarette in hand, watching the smoke
swirl around his fingers.
The two were strangely silent. After a long pause, Lucy finally couldn't hold back and spoke up, "Why are you
here?"
"Is the guy from tonight your boyfriend?" he asked, his tone hostile.

Lucy shifted her gaze nervously, "Yes."
"When did you start seeing him?" Chuck's eyes burned with fury as he questioned her. Was it before they got
involved or after?
Lucy glanced at him uneasily, "It's none of your business."
Chuck suddenly grabbed her shoulders, letting out a scoff, "Lucy, do you really think it doesn't matter? Do you
truly not care about that night?"
"No," Lucy avoided his gaze. How could she possibly not care? She was a girl filled with all sorts of romantic
fantasies. She had dreamt about her first time, but it shouldn't have happened so casually. She had only seen
drunken mistakes in , so when it happened to her, she was filled with regret. Of course, there was another
reason-because it was with Chuck. But even though at
the Paragon Hotel tonight he acted indifferent, why did he chase after her once the party was over?
"Break up," Chuck said.
"What?" Lucy looked up in shock, her heart pounding intensely.
Chuck said, annoyed, "Break up with him."
"Why?" Lucy asked.
"Break up with him right now," Chuck said with impatience.
Lucy remembered Yasmine's words, "Just because you tellto break up, | should? On what grounds?"
Chuck grabbed her wrist, saying seriously, "Because I'm your boyfriend and we've slept together."
"You!" Lucy blushed with embarrassment, not expecting him to say it out loud. "You're so shameless!" She shook
off Chuck's hand, intending to head home.
Chuck stepped forward to block her path, What's shameless about it? We've slept together." Since they had, why
was she talking with someone else? Thinking about the guy from tonight made Chuck's teeth grind in frustration.
Lucy lowered her eyes, not daring to look at him. "Let's pretend nothing happened between us. It was all just a
misunderstanding..."
Chuck sneered, "A misunderstanding? That's what you're calling it?
You've really tickedoff."
Lucy felt speechless. What kind of ridiculous romantic was he acting in? "You're overacting."
Chuck said coldly, "Break up with him right away. | remember that day perfectly, and you owe me."
Lucy looked at Chuck's face, slightly dazed. She asked calmly and firmly, "So, what are you here for? Just to
makebreak up?"
Maybe it was her determined gaze, but Chuck found himself at a loss for words. He wasn't just here to make
Lucy break up; he wanted to suggest giving it a try. Yet, somehow, he couldn't bring himself to say it.
Lucy continued, "Or do you want to be with me? Do you like me? Or is it just because we slept together that you
feel the need to play responsible?"
Chuck remained silent, even he wasn't sure why.
Disappointed, Lucy looked away, brushing his hand aside. "I need to rest," she said, walking through the door
without looking back, leaving Chuck standing there in a daze. Maybe he was impulsive today, but he still
hesitated when facing Lucy. It's never the traffic lights that mess things up; it's hesitation.

The day before the charity auction, Yasmine waited for Morgan to chome. "Morgan, taketo the auction

Morgan was quite surprised since Yasmine had never gotten involved in the company's affairs before, and now
she wanted to calong. He smiled and said, "Sure thing. | was just wondering what auction item to bring.
Let's think about it together."
Yasmine shook her head with a confident smile, pointing to something on the table, "Morgan, take a look at this."
"What is it?" Morgan asked curiously as he walked over and lifted the cloth, revealing something he didn't
expect. From what he'd heard, Hunter was a devout Christian, almost beca monk, and had always had a
passion for collecting antiques, especially loving rosary beads.
Morgan had been searching for a suitable auction item for a while.
Even though it appeared to be just a charity auction, participants were secretly on the hunt for antiques to
attract Hunter's attention.
If you could have Hunter bid on your item among all those antiques, you'd surely becthe events highlight-
and a step closer to Hunter and the land.
The charity auction was set to take place in the largest hall of the Paragon Hotel. Linking arms with Morgan,
Yasmine walked into the venue, surrounded by the flashing spotlights, wearing a polite smile on her face.
Morgan, worried but trying not to show it, whispered, "Yasmine, are you sure we should set the price this high?"
Yasmine nodded and slowly spoke, "Of course, | still think the price is on the lower side. I'm sure Mr. Ellis will
understand."
"It's all up to you now, Yasmine." Morgan shot a trusting glance at his sister.
Yasmine dressed simply today, wearing an off-white dress and a refreshing, unique necklace that was the latest
design from Louis Vuitton.
On her wrist was a platinum watch, exuding luxury. Today was Hunter's birthday banquet and a charity auction,
so it wasn't suitable to wear something too flashy that would steal the spotlight.
The hall was already set with many dining tables, and the auction stage was at the front. After Yasmine and
Morgan sat down, they saw Xavier and Yvette.
