Chapter 239
Sunlight streamed down on Yasmine, casting a golden glow on her soft form. This tranquil beauty made Yonas
wish tcould just stop in this moment.
Suddenly, a cry erupted from not too far away, snapping Yasmine out of her reverie. She listened carefully and
looked at Yonas in confusion, "Did you hear someone crying?"
Yonas focused intently and, sure enough, he could hear the sound of crying. He nodded in confirmation.
Yasmine stood up and glanced around, finally spotting a woman lying on the ground crying behind a tree. She
quickly approached her, "What's wrong? Are you okay?"
Upon hearing Yasmine's question, the woman rasped, "I'm going into labor, help me!" Labor? Yasmine's face
turned pale; this was a pregnant woman! She looked down and saw that the woman's pants were soaked,
indicating her water had broken. Yasmine hurriedly ran to find a doctor and nurse. Luckily, the doctor arrived
shortly, and the pregnant woman was taken to the emergency room. Yasmine let out a deep breath and then
remembered Yonas.
Luckily, Yonas had already made his way back himself. It wasn't until Yasmine entered the hospital room that she
found Yonas lying in bed.
At night, Morgan mysteriously led Yasmine into a room guarded by several men in black. When the door opened,
she saw a man tied to a chair. Yasmine curiously glanced at Morgan, "Who is this?"
"It's the people in the black sedan," Morgan said. Ever since his sister had her accident, he had people
thoroughly check the surveillance on every road. Misty Evergreen Isle originally had no surveillance, but right
after he bought it, he had two cameras installed. It was actually lucky those cameras caught their faces. Even
though the car windows were tinted, he hired technicians to restore the contours of their faces, and it took a long
tto find just this one person.
Yasmine set her gaze on the person tied up, her expression growing colder. That person, with bruises all over his
face, had obviously been beaten by Morgan's people, but it seemed like he hadn't spilled a word. Morgan said
coldly, "This one's got a stubborn mouth. Ever since he was brought over last night, he hasn't said a thing."
Yasmine nodded, looking at the man with a serious expression and said, "Leave it to me."

All the bodyguards in the room left, and the man's hands were untied, yet he was still bound to the chair. He
stared at Yasmine expressionlessly, as if he were looking at something lifeless. Morgan was in another room,
watching the monitor feed.
Yasmine spoke up, "You don't have to talk if you don't want to, but could you answer a few questions? Just think
of it as a way to keep your family safe."
The man finally showed semotion, his brows furrowed tightly, and finally spoke, "Are you planning to kill
someone?"
Yasmine chuckled wryly, "I never said | wanted to kill anyone. Seems like you might have, though. If thinking
about your family still makes you nervous, then why do something like this
The man shook his head, choosing to remain silent.
"So, you're not cooperating now?" Yasmine asked.
"Ask away.
"What's your name?" Yasmine asked, her voice icy.
After a moment's hesitation, the man replied, "Sergio."

"Alright." Yasmine placed a pen and paper in front of him, then slid a table closer. "Sergio, drawa picture."
Serseemed puzzled, "Draw a picture?"
Yasmine nodded, "Yes, draw your home."
D
Sergio's hand trembled slightly as he held the pen. Draw his home? His face turned pale as he put the pen down.

Was that a refusal? Yasmine smiled, "It's okay, you don't have to draw. But then | might just have to visit your
home. And I'll definitely bring them along," she said, gesturing towards the door Sergasped, picking up the
pen again, but lingering over the paper, unsure how to start.
"Start by drawing your family," Yasmine gently suggested.
Sersketched three figures-one woman, one man, and a little girl.
"Now add a house, sbig trees, and a car driving by," Yasmine said, giving him guidance with each element.
Although he didn't quite understand why Yasmine was making him do it, he seemed to realize that refusing was
futile. Following her instructions, he drew a house, a road, and a car on the paper.
Looking at the house and people, Yasmine's eyes softened, a rare expression. However, her gaze turned
dangerous when she saw the car. Taking the drawing and examining it closely, she asked, "You have a sister?"
She placed the drawing back in front of Sergio, pointing to the car, "Tell me, whose is this?"
Serwas taken aback, "I don't know. You're the one who askedto draw it."
"No! You do know." Yasmine placed a pocket watch in front of him. It was hypnotism, a common technique, but
very effective during interrogations. Her voice was gentle and soothing, and as the watch swung slowly, Sergio
eventually closed his eyes.
Half an hour later, Yasmine walked out of the room, having obtained the answers she sought.
Morgan emerged from another room; he had heard everything.
"It was Irene, it really was her," Yasmine exclaimed. She had suspected Irene from the beginning, but hadn't
expected it to be
true.
Morgan's expression was grim, "She just keeps doing it over and over, doesn't she?" He pointed to the person in
the room, "What should we do with him?"

"Send him back, Yasmine replied, knowing the man was merely a pawn. Her sole focus now was to make Irene
uneasy, to make her pay.
The next day, when Yonas woke up, the first thing he did was check if Yasmine had come. Yasmine had been
taking good care of Yonas these past few days, even asking Finola to bring ssoup over. Yonas almost didn't
want to leave the hospital because that meant he could see Yasmine every day, which made him really happy.
But just when Yonas was expecting Yasmine, Irene showed up, breaking his train of thought.
Treur said, "Yonas, I've cto see you. What happened? How did you end up with a leg injury? Lasked Nathan,
and he toldyou got into a car accident by accident." She placed the therios she brought on the bedside
table, glanced at the pink thermos already there and subtly nudged hers further in.
Yonas clearly didn't expect her to come. He glanced at the trealizing Yasmine would arrive soon, and he
needed to ensure Irene lef before then "There's no need for you to worry about these things, especially sure |

anything before finding out who's behind this," he said, paying close attention to Irene's reaction.
"The one behind the scenes?" Irene looked at Yonas with sconfusion.
Yonas nodded. "I told Grandpa it was a car accident, but that wasn't true. Two black cars tried to ambushthat
day, so | had to take action first."
A cold gleam flashed in Irene's eyes as she watched Yonas closely. "Ambush you? Why would anyone want to
ambush you?" She very well knew this was Yonas testing her.
