Chapter 275

The people around were watching the scene as if it were a show, and swere even betting on how long it

would take the drunk to overpower the woman. Just then, Lucy suddenly dashed out, "What are you doing! If you

lay another hand on her, I'll call the cops!" "Who doesn't cto a bar to have sfun? | just want her to say

something-what's so wrong about that?"

"No means no, now get lost!" Lucy glared at him fiercely.

"What kind of people are you? Can't handle it, then don't cto the bar!" The man cursed as he walked away.

Lucy protected Yasmine, "Yasmine, weren't you just drinking at the bar? How did you suddenly end up here?" She

suspiciously looked around but didn't spot anyone suspicious.

Yasmine hadn't fully recovered yet, she simply said, "Went to the restroom." Her mood was already down, and

seeing Yonas leave the bar with Irene sent a chilling cold running through her heart.

With deafening music echoing around the bar, she softly asked, "Lucy, can you really forget your troubles by

dancing?"

"Give it a try, it can't hurt to try," Lucy replied.

Yasmine dashed straight into the dance floor without a second thought, moving along with everyone around her.

The mix of cigarette smoke and alcohol filled the air, creating a subtle, suggestive vibe. Lucy thought Yasmine

had finally cto terms with things, so she followed her onto the dance floor. Together, they danced with an

alluring charm.

The intense dancing left Yasmine breathless after a short while, but with the music pumping, she felt she could

keep going When exhaustion hit every part of her body and every cell, she finally felt really tired, yet she

realized she hadn't thought about that thing for nearly an hour.

At the Inkwell Bar, Xavier walked in with a dazed expression. He hadn't been able to sleep a wink last night, all

because of thoughts about Yasmine. All night he tried to figure out what he really felt for her. Once, the name

burning in his mind was Yvette, but now amidst the glow of red, he saw a green flash with Yasmine's name

written there.

It was just a small branch at first, but it kept growing larger and larger, until now he could no longer suppress

that thriving sapling bursting with new life. From the empty and quiet streets, he threw himself into the vibrant

chaos of the bar, where the loud music forcibly chased away the sadness in his heart.

Amidst the clamor, he made his way to the bar and ordered a cocktail. His eyes drifted to the dance floor, only to

catch sight of someone who took his breath away. Why was she here? Why was she dancing? The scene sent his

heart racing, and he was tempted to rush over and pull Yasmine out of there.

At this moment, she stripped away all of Xavier's perceptions of her. It turns out that in the so-called three years

of marriage, she had been squeezed until nothing but her docility was left. All her own brilliance had been peeled

away.

"Yasmine..." he whispered her nsoftly, wanting to pull her away but lacking the right. All he could do was sit

at the bar drinking his cocktail, sitting there blankly watching.

"How's Yasmine? Feeling better?" Lucy danced wildly.

The shifting lights cast a mysterious beauty on Yasmine's face. "Yeah," Yasmine said, feeling tired. "I'll go sit for a

while." She walked out of the vibrant dance floor. She didn't feel it in the moment, but now she realized her

impulsiveness seemed quite foolish. She didn't even enjoy it but went in just to numb her senses temporarily.

Back at the booth, a glass of water slid over. She looked up and saw it was Xavier.

"Why is it you?" Yasmine frowned slightly.

Xavier probably knew she was irritated with him. "Why can't it be me?"

"You... you saw everything?" Yasmine asked.

"If you're referring to the dance just now, yes, | saw it all," Xavier chuckled softly.

Yasmine pushed the glass of water back to him, "Mr. Flynn, you can drink it yourself."

"Won't you even drink a glass of water from me?"

Yasmine said expressionlessly, "Of course not, what someone sees us and accusesof trying to drink your

water on purpose?"

"That won't happen," Xavier assured.

"No, thank you, Mr. Flynn, I'd prefer to be alone," she said, not wanting to see Xavier, let alone face him.

A hurt look flashed in Xavier's eyes, "Yasmine, do you really dislikethat much?"

Yasmine glanced at him, "You're just realizing? Mr. Flynn, please callYasmine."

Xavier retorted defiantly, "Then why can Yonas call you Yasmine, and you still have hope for him? Yasmine, you

need to understand that the Russell family is bound to be linked with the White family. The matters of Irene and

Yonas were decided by William and Nathan long ago."

"What does that have to do with you? Whether | have hope for him or not is none of your business!" Yasmine

replied coldly. But he did have one point right; the Russell family was indeed destined to join with the White

family.

Xavier sighed helplessly, "Yonas isn't right for you, forget about him. Even if there's hope, it's best to give up

early."

Yasmine sneered, "Xavier, he's not right for me, but you are? Do | really need your advice?"

"Yasmine, | know you're pretty upset withright now, but I'm genuinely trying to look out for you. Irene is not

someone you can easily handle," Xavier said earnestly.

But Yasmine absolutely hated hearing those words. Just because Yonas had said that Irene wouldn't mess with

her, she'd been avoiding her ever since. And now Xavier was standing in front of her saying the sthing. She

laughed at herself, "Xavier do you think I can just walk away from this showdown with her now? | tried to avoid

trouble with her, but she already sawas a threat and wantedout of the picture. Do you remember how

many times she, your wife, and your sister conspired against me? I've dealt with her tricks before, but | won't

compromise. She has to pay for all those things she's done."

Yasmine paused and then continued, "But before anything else, I'm warning you to stay out of my business.

Since the day we divorced, we're strangers."

Even though he'd heard such words many times before, hearing them from Yasmine crushed Xavier's heart.

"Yasmine, | just want to care for you."

"Xavier, you've got it all wrong, okay? | don't need your concern. Right now, you should be worried about Yvette,

who's under house arrest, or Helen, who's stuck in a mental hospital, not me." Yasmine shot him a cold glare. If

she had felt any affection towards Xavier before, it was long gone now. His heartless rejection of her in the past

made his sudden concern irritating. Was he trying to show how much he cared now?
