[AN: Bonus Kana 3/7]

*Bam!*

"Holy hell, I almost lost my arm! Tsss..." Kana held her bloodied arm. After her little pep talk with Aoi, the two went right to work fighting. Kana was tanking while Aoi was dealing as much damage as she possibly could. But what Kana did not expect was the crazy speed the boss was able to use as it swung all six of its scythes around. No matter how fast she currently was, she was not able to fully dodge the last strike, which sliced off a layer of her skin.

Aoi was bombarding the boss with multiple rays of highly pressurized water. With Kana casting both [Fire Pillar] and [Water Pillar], while at the same time spitting out her [Dragon Breath]. Even though they were fighting with everything they had, the boss was still attacked as if their attacks were nothing. Even though it seemed they were doing no damage, Kana knew they were. This was mainly due to having fought the smaller versions of the boss. The normal monsters never retreated, nor did they make a sound when you stabbed them. It was as if they were machines that did not react at all to pain.

Thirty minutes into battle and Kana was showing signs of tying already. Normally she could fight for a long time, but this boss was making her go above and beyond. The surrounding area of the room showed just how intense the fight had been so far as well. There were many gashes all over the room from the scythes in the boss's hands as well as charred marks from Kana's flames. The floor had ankle deep water as well. Large chunks had been taken out of the stone wall from where Kana was sent flying a few times at the start of the fight. There were many close calls during this battle where Kana had almost lost her life. If she was not quick and blocked the attack with her sword, she would have been sliced through.

"Kana, it's slowing down!" Aoi suddenly yelled out.

For Kana, it did not seem as if it was slowing down at all, but that was only because she was slowing down in her movements. As time ticked by, the slowing movements of the boss finally became noticeable to Kana. Seeing this, Kana finally let out a sigh of relief because this meant that the boss was close to being dead.

One hour turned into two as Kana took advantage of a lapse in the boss's attacks and jumped up into the air and thrust her sword into the face of the boss monster. The boss monster froze as it began to glow. Small balls of golden light rose up into the air, along with it, a pile of items also fell to the floor.

"Finally!" Kana yelled out. Sweat dripped from her hair that was matted to her head. She had never fought so hard in her entire life. "Aoi you okay?"

"Mm… I am just glad that it's over." Aoi floated down and took up her rightful spot on Kana's shoulder.

After resting a bit, Kana got up and walked over to the loot. It was mainly useless items she could not use. But there were a few pieces of armor she figured that Kiliffia might be able to use, so she kept those away into her inventory. Only one thing really caught her eye, and that was a round ball made of black fog. "What's this?"

Kana reached down and went to pick up the ball of black fog. As she did, a ding went off inside her head.

*Ding!*

[Rare elemental found. Would you like to acquire the Element of Death?]

[Yes] [No]

"Rare Elemental…. Aoi, how is this really an elemental?" Kana asked. She was slightly confused as to why this did not seem like an elemental at all. Of course, she could only base her knowledge of elementals around Aoi.

"Hmm? Elemental? I guess it is…" Aoi floated over to the black ball of fog and pointed at it: "Stop playing dead and become Kana's elemental!"

Kana couldn't help but laugh, seeing how puffed out Aoi's cheeks were. That, along with her sweet little voice acting so domineering it really made one giggle. The black ball of fog twitched slightly before finally changing shape. "Why is a water elemental here?" A small figure appeared in Kana's hand. "Can you let me go? It's not good for a lady to have her hands all over a man. Although I am dashing in every way and all the female elementals and females from other races fall for me, it does not mean I wish for you to be all touchy feely. Have some manners!"

Kana narrowed her eyes at the small male elemental before hitting the yes button in front of her.

*Ding!*

[Gained Rare Elemental. Unlocked Death Dragon. Please name your new elemental companion ]

"Naru." Kana decided the small male elemental's name without much thought. Since the little thing was boasting about how amazing he was, then he was nothing but a narcissist, Naru for short.

"Hey, wait! What the hell did you do to meeeee!? Ahhh!" Naru yelled out as he was suddenly sucked into Kana's body. He had no chance to make a decision on where or not he wanted to be Kana's elemental or not.

"Serves him right, humph! Where does he get off saying he is the most handsome elemental? Aoi wouldn't date him even if he was the last male elemental in the universe!" Aoi crossed her arms across her chest and snorted. She disdained males like Naru.

"Mmmm…. It's fine. His name is Naru, short for narcissist." Kana patted Aoi on her head, causing her to giggle.

"Good name!" Aoi really liked that name. She felt it fit perfectly for him. If it was up to her, she would have named him princess or something along those lines with all the self praising he was doing.

Kana looked around the room and saw that it was safe now, so she took out some wood from her inventory and built a small fire. Once the fire was going, she took out some meat and began roasting it. After such a hard battle, to sit back and eat something was one of the greatest feelings in the world for Kana. For her, this battle showed her a lot about herself. It showed her she had a long way to go if she wished to be strong enough to reach the goals she had planned out for herself.
