Chapter 528
Nathalie was walking along a dark road, holding Nina's hand.
"Nina, what does your dad want to talk toabout?" Nathalie asked.
"You'll find out when you get there, Mommy," Nina replied, her voice soft and reassuring. Nathalie couldn't help
but chuckle. Nathan had been off the radar for most of the day, and his mysterious habits could only mean one
thing-he was planning to propose. Since he wanted to keep the suspense alive, she decided not to pry further
and followed Nina towards the Sunny Side Café.
But as they approached, the bustling noise and chatter inside the café made Nathalie uneasy. Nathan knew her
too well-she preferred peace and quiet, and he was always meticulous about details. Why would he choose such
a loud place to meet her? Nathalie suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Nina asked, looking up.
Nathalie's voice turned cool. "Nina, who really wants to see me?"
"It's Daddy," Nina insisted, her innocent eyes wide open.
Nathalie felt a pang of anxiety in her chest. Nina kept insisting it was Nathan, so why was she feeling this way?
She trusted Nathan completely.
But as soon as she saw the man standing by the floor-to-ceiling window inside, she knew why she felt uneasy.
She shot Nina a sharp look. "Why did you lie to me?"
Nina looked hurt. "Mommy, | didn't lie. | said Daddy wanted to see you."

Disappointment clouded Nathalie's eyes. As Nina slowly released her hand, she whispered, "Mommy, Daddy has
something to tell you. Please, just talk it out and clear up the misunderstanding." With that, Nina slipped outside.
Watching her daughter's small figure leave, Nathalie closed her eyes in despair.
Cameron approached her gently. "Don't be mad at her. | asked her to do this."
Nathalie's eyes were filled with sarcasm. "You think this little act of fatherly love isn't a joke?"
"Cameron, you're not fit to be her father. Stay away from her."
Cameron sighed, "Nathalie, | know you hate me. But there's something you need to know."
Nathalie thought she had moved past her anger towards Camerom and Gréta. But standing here, facing
Cameron's manipulations again, her anger surged like a wave.
"I have nothing to say to you, Cameron," she snapped, turning to leave.
But Cameron grabbed her hand. "Nathalie, | regret it."
Nathalie looked at him, surprised.
Cocontinued, "I regret
marrying Greta. | regret how |

treated you. I'm truly sorry, Nathalie."
Her expression was one of disbelief. "And how is that my problem?"
Cameron pleaded, "I know you don't

Nathalie slapped him hard across the face. "Cameron, how dare you ask to get back together?"
"Even for the sake of our daughter, Nina... let's give her a real family," Cameron begged.
