Jade understood that Rose wanted to say that she might be able to interest Arthur.
However, Jade was a woman who was used to being professional.
She didn't want her work to be interrupted because of things like feelings.
In the end, she shook her head and replied, "I don't think it's necessary right now, it could cause the military to be suspicious, they'll ask why my hair has become normal."
Of course, that was just an excuse as she could have just said that her control over her powers had gotten better so her hair wasn't affected anymore.
After all, the military wouldn't be able to detect her magic power either.
Arthur wasn't planning on commenting on her decision either, so he nodded.
He said, "If your mind changes, just tell me..."
"Okay!" Jade replied.
"By the way, aunt..." Arthur spoke to Isabel again.
"Do you know what time exactly the general passed through here?"
"I don't know," Isabel replied. "However, I believe it was around midnight."
"I see, I guess we can still relax and prepare our energy."
Time passed quietly.
The sky darkened again but tonight was a little brighter as there were many stars in the sky.
Spiritual beings like Arthur and the others could see quite clearly within certain limits.
At around 11 PM, they were ready on the tree beside the road, staring into the distance.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNot long after they arrived there, they saw a convoy of three cars about 1 kilometer away from them.
The cars' lights were quite bright, so their presence was obvious when they happened to pass through the treeless area.
However, perhaps it was because the road they were traveling on was very difficult, so their movements were quite slow.
That didn't matter to Arthur and the others who had been waiting here for a day.
Arthur narrowed his eyes as he began to sense the presence of people in the cars.
He began to count their numbers and of course count their Evolvers.
After a while, he had a conclusion.
"There are 20 of them, ten of them are Evolvers, and three of those Evolvers are equivalent to Andi before he became a Knight," Arthur said.
Hearing his words, Isabel, Rose, and the others looked at him.
The first one said, "that means it won't be hard to beat them."
Andi before becoming an Evolver was considered the top Evolver, but still he still lost even to a new Magus like Jade.
Right after Isabel spoke, Arthur added, "there's one more, and it's stronger than the other three."
"Ohh..." Isabel finally showed some interest.
"How strong is that guy?"
"Probably a little stronger than Jade right now," Arthur replied as he looked at Jade.
"Can you guess who?" Arthur asked her.
The woman could probably sense their presence as well since her earth magic allowed her to detect things above ground.
Jade narrowed her eyes, continuing to stare ahead as if she was thinking.
After a while, only then did she answer. "I feel like that person is General Grayson."
"Him? How is that possible?" Isabel was surprised by Jade's answer including the mercenaries. They were former special forces members, so they were also familiar with him.
"There were always rumors that he was also an Evolver, even becoming one before the others," Jade said.
"This is surprising, but well, after all, he's one of the Generals in control of the Military Intelligence Division," said Isabel.
"Boss, do you think my sniper can kill him?" Ryan suddenly asked Arthur.
The latter nodded.
"Within 50 meters, he shouldn't be able to do anything. Of course, as long as his evolver power is not the defense type."
"Then do you want me to kill him?" Ryan looked excited, even his hands shook for a moment.
Perhaps he wanted to feel the thrill of shooting a powerful general.
Unfortunately, Arthur shook his head.
"I'll take care of him myself, and there's no need to kill right away, just shoot the tires of their cars or those with guns," Arthur replied.
Ryan was a little disappointed but he couldn't say anything when Arthur had already said it.
The minutes passed quietly.
Finally, the convoy was only about 150 meters away from them and getting closer all the time.
"Let's move," Arthur said, signaling to Rose and the others.
They immediately jumped up, even Jade followed them. She now had no more problems since she was already a magus.
On the other side, Ryan started shooting the car tires one by one.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe sniper's voice echoed loudly, startling the birds in the trees.
The people in the cars must have been very surprised as well. They hurriedly stopped their cars. Moving now would only make them crash into the tree.
An instant after, the car doors opened and one after another human figures jumped out.
It seemed that the one sitting beside each car door was an Evolver.
Arthur looked at the rest and they were wearing white robes that doctors or researchers usually wore.
At the moment, they looked panicked.
The one that caught his attention the most was a middle-aged man with neatly combed hair.
He was wearing a military uniform, had a tall body and was full of muscles. Even if he was not an Evolver, he would definitely give fear to most people. Supposedly, he had no trouble killing humans with just his fists.
"He should be called General Grayson, right, aunt?" Arthur asked Isabel.
The latter nodded and there was a cold light in her eyes, a light that only usually appeared when one had a high desire to kill.
Her reaction made Arthur wonder if there was another problem between them because it didn't look like she hated him just because he sent people to attack her.
It should be a deep hatred, something that could only be caused by a very painful event.
Despite his curiosity, Arthur chose not to ask anything.
Whoosh!
Isabel finally moved. Her body emitted lightning, lighting up the night sky.
She shot her lightning at the two Evolvers and they were instantly paralyzed without even being able to scream.
This battle was truly a one-sided fight. Rose and the others easily dominated the enemy.
It didn't take 1 minute before they had all the Evolvers unable to stand anymore.
Of course, they were all surprised by the result.
Even General Grayson who usually did not react at the sight of gruesome death opened his mouth.
