"Damn…" Liam mumbled, watching the huge maw disappearing in the ground once again. The Rift vanished as well, leaving behind an empty room.
He swallowed his saliva and looked through the room to see if there were any remnants of the rift's existence but there was nothing.
It was almost as if the Rift had been swallowed whole, leaving nothing behind.
[The Livral Orb devoured the Lesser Rift to the Nest of the Shedim(Underworld).]
[Digesting the Lesser Rift requires 24 hours. The produced Arcane Power will be stored in the Livral Orb's storage, and can then be used, or sold at will!]
The impression of the huge maw devouring the Lesser Rift had been imprinted in his mind, and it looked like he was not the only one.
While he was still able to control his expression, the girls were having a hard time doing so.
Jennie screamed out in shock. She hurriedly retreated a few steps and began to shiver in fright.
Felicia was doing a little better. She flinched and her eyes began to quiver while taking a single step back.
Meanwhile, Olivia's mind seemed to have blanked out at the sight of the huge maw.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"We got a useful asset with the Livral Orb," Liam muttered in a satisfied tone, nodding his head as he looked at the orb. He was not too sure how much Arcane Power or Arcanium he could acquire from a Lesser Rift, but it shouldn't be little.
A Rift was quite valuable, even for Lira. The Devil Duchess must have used her own resources or must have drained the royal treasury of the Shedims to manifest the Lesser Rift in her Underground Tower.
One way, or another, the Lesser Rift was now his. It would be digested and slowly turned into Arcane Power, which Liam could then use to accelerate his healing process, hopefully.
His Vitality was quite high but he continued to drink potions made by the Elven to accelerate the healing process even further. That way, he spent close to 100 Arcanium, while simultaneously cutting down his resting period to around one day.
That was something he could accept. He should be fully healed by the time the Livral Orb completed digesting the Lesser Rift.
As for what would happen after that, Liam was not too sure.
Even though he found it logical to awaken his bloodlines in order to take revenge, his greed made him feel like rejecting his father and mother in every possible way.
However, that was just his selfish thinking. He knew that it was illogical and not feasible.
Furthermore, rejecting his bloodline didn't mean that it would suddenly stop coursing through his veins. That mindset was ignorant and delusional.
The girls nodded their heads, agreeing that the Livral Orb was useful. It removed the potential threat of the Rift in an instant while leaving behind a pretty intense impression.
The girls were pale. They stared at Liam, who returned to the Reward Hall.
"If you find more treasures, tell me about them," Liam said to Jennie, who nodded her head, "I wouldn't have found the Rift easily without your help!"
Liam figured that it was necessary to praise Jennie. He would give out praises when they were well deserved. Finding the Rift was not easy and it saved him the trouble of spending a few days roaming through the tunnels that connected to the Boss Monster's hall. Jennie deserved a word of applaud, that was for sure!
"I will do that!" She exclaimed.
Jennie had stopped shivering and her eyes started to glimmer brightly. Getting appreciated by the halfling was not something Jennie would think about. In the past, she had been praised a lot for all kinds of things, even her beauty. However, praises from Liam were different.
He never really acknowledged anyone.
Liam was more of the person who delivered feisty punches with the intention to make sure that the people around him would improve. Rather than giving nice advice, he would be cold and harsh.
Thus, his appreciation was worth a lot more than any other praises Jennie had heard in the past.
"Let's go mine some Saphirate Crystals then."
Liam couldn't really do much with only one arm either, but he was not willing to waste a full day doing nothing.
Time was of the essence and the only rest he wanted to give himself was when his body was in dire need of sleep, or when he was scrolling through the Arcane Shop and other shops.
Other than that, he didn't really feel like resting. He never knew when the Underground Tower might collapse.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMaybe his sister created a dirty mechanism that caused the destruction of the tower after it had been conquered for a certain amount of time.
Liam was not sure about that. Thus, he wanted to finish his business deep underground quickly and return to the surface.
He made his way to the entrance of the Saphirate Crystal Mine and smiled at the sight that unfolded in front of him.
A vast cavern system stretched out before him. Its walls were shimmering with the bright blue light of countless Saphirate Crystals. They were of various sizes but all of them were sapphire in color, and they reflected the lights that shone on them brightly.
The crystals were everywhere. They protruded from the walls, the ceiling, and the ground in every direction, almost like miniature skyscrapers. The massive number of Saphirate crystals all around them created a mystical sensation that was filled with otherworldly beauty.
Liam wanted to take a look at the size of the Saphirate Crystal Mine. He made his way deeper into the system, where he saw that the cavern walls were growing taller, their cliffs dotted with more and more Saphirate Crystal clusters. His nose itched, while the muffled sound of his footsteps echoed softly through the cave and the surrounding turned more and more beautiful.
The entire cavern system was illuminated brightly. There was not a single corner void of the bright blue light that could be found everywhere.
The beauty of the cave was indescribable.
But that was saddening to the girls who had been bewitched by the beauty of the Saphirate Crystal Mine.
They knew that Liam would take it all to earn a fortune. Even though they knew that it was important to make profits, the three girls couldn't help but feel a little bit sad.
They didn't want nature's beauty to disappear.
Of course, Liam couldn't care less about that!
