"What do you mean her soul is incomplete? She still has some kind of consciousness, right?" Damien had no knowledge about these things, especially when it came to specific details about souls.
"Look, Moonblade has a soul plane, but it has not formed its own identity yet. It is purely acting on instincts and can follow simple instructions since it's bound to you. Your feelings and thoughts direct its actions. That is why you think it listens to you. Even its cultivation growth would be stunted soon because of its incomplete soul, no matter how much you try to nourish it. Otherwise, if Yuria was able to forge Spirit Weapons with a complete soul, do you really think the Krisen Kingdom would have to walk on eggshells around the imperial family? But given time, I am sure Yuria would soon be able to forge such weapons. But Moonblade's fate is sealed unless you let Kalypso do her thing," Luna advised in a convincing way though she really didn't want Damien to simply let go of this chance to gain more power.
Damien felt a bit sad thinking about Moonblade since it was his Spirit Weapon and something Yuria gifted to him. But then again, he felt that living with an incomplete soul could be no different than not living at all.
"You seem to be deep in thought, Master Damien," Kalypso pointed out in an ancient yet elegant voice.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDamien was a bit startled to hear her call him 'Master' and said, "Kalypso, please. Just call me Damien. Hearing you call me 'Master' just doesn't seem right."
"But you are the successor of His Magnificence who lorded over an entire universe. How could I not give any respect to his successor as well? Even if you are too weak now, I have faith that one day you will be the supreme king of both universes, especially since you have the ability to use ethereal energy as well," Kalypso said in a tone of certainty.
"Hmph, supreme king indeed. This big brain can't even take out haughty old men on thrones here, let alone both universes. I guess I should let her know who the true boss of this universe is, hmph, hmph!" Luna seemed upset about getting thrown out of the equation just like that while Damien awkwardly coughed since it was true that he had yet to complete his mission here and didn't have the luxury to think about the outrageous things Kalypso was saying.
Even if Kalypso told him the reason, Damien felt a bit overwhelmed to be called Master by such an ancient, powerful entity.
However, he knew he couldn't convince someone who was very devoted to the Anti-God and could understand where she was coming from.
He slowly took out Moonblade from his soul space and inspected her in his hand. He caressed the blade as he said to Kalypso, "I am sure you are able to sense that this weapon is quite special, right?"
"An incomplete Spirit Weapon, isn't it?" Kalypso's voice became vibrant the moment she saw that there was hope. But still, she wouldn't do anything without Damien's permission and asked, "How did you get your hands on one? I don't remember ever seeing an incomplete Spirit Weapon like this. Its soul plane is literally empty. But it is up to you if you want me to occupy it."
Even though he already knew, Damien felt it was a pity that Moonblade was not complete yet and thought that Kalypso could make it complete.
Meanwhile, outside the door, the little king, Yuria, and Valentina were confused, wondering what Damien was doing in front of the crimson dagger.
It seemed as if he was simply standing, but Yuria and Valentina speculated that Damien was probably communicating with it mentally since they knew it was a Spirit Weapon, a very special and powerful one.
So they couldn't help but be excited and yet anxious about how things were going to turn out for Damien. They knew if the crimson dagger wanted to harm Damien, it would have already done so and wouldn't wait this long.
Damien sighed and said, "I only realized now that this Spirit Weapon has an incomplete soul. So the only way to make it complete is if you can occupy it. I just don't want to see this go to waste."
Kalypso's aura flared up a bit in excitement, making Damien realize how badly she wanted this, but he knew the reason why. Before, Kalyspo seemed as if she had given up and was ready to die, but the moment she knew about the fact that he was Anti-God's successor, she seemed desperate to not die.
"But what will exactly happen to you once?" Damien asked curiously.
"I am going to merge my body with the Spirit Weapon in your hand so that my soul can be safely transferred to its soul plane. At the same time, I would have to bound myself to your soul since without nethereal energy, I wouldn't be able to last long here. But I would lose my true cultivation even though I already became this weak and lost a lot of it. So I would only be as strong as you the moment I get bound to you. Still, I promise you I will be the finest weapon for you to use and won't let you down," Kalypso said in a determined tone.
Damien smiled and said, "It's alright. As long as I can save you, nothing else matters. Since you served Anti-God once and he was also a benefactor to me, it's my honor and duty to help you as well."
Kalypso's aura became still for a moment as she could see that Damien sincerely wanted to save her soul and realized that Anti-God chose the right successor. She could already see some familiar characteristics in him and thought that who wouldn't want to choose a successor that had some similar characteristics in personality?
It had been a long time since she felt this grateful towards someone.
"Then I will begin," Kalypso said as a dark crimson strand of energy shot out towards Moonblade.
