The Old Lohar was the Headmaster of the Glory Knight academy, called Olivia Kersch.
She was said to be one of the oldest Lohars within the Lahin Kingdom, and everyone knew her.
As such, the noble Instructor was not even able to openly get angry when the Headmaster told Kyle and the rest to ignore his words.
This was frustrating and nearly made him want to talk back to Kersch who was not only his senior but also the Headmaster.
Fortunately, he did not do so after sensing the interest Olivia Kersch had in Kyle.
And it was only a moment later that he realized something of great significance.
"The Queen left her isolated cultivation. I'm not sure if you can imagine her excitement when she found the Mutated Licara flower seed in front of her…considering that, it was extremely difficult to hold her back from barging into the Academy."
Kyle smiled faintly when he heard this, only for the Headmaster to continue.
"She wants to meet you, if possible! Her gratitude can be quite…burdensome though, even more so because there doesn't seem to be anything that you want!"
At this moment, Kyle's smile vanished.
He had no plans of meeting the Queen, and it would only be burdensome if they were to meet.
As such, he thought of something before deciding, to give an honest reply.
"I'm sorry to say this, but I did all of this not for the Queen, whether we are talking about saving Alice Silvermoon, or presenting the queen with the Mutated Licara flower seed.
I did everything to reunite with someone very important to me. My main focus was not to help the Lahin kingdom to advance in terms of combat prowess.."
Being honest right now might worsen his relationship with the entire Lahin kingdom.
But the Headmaster of the Glory Knight academy accepted his words with a forced smile on her lips.
It was as if she was satisfied with his answer, only for the noble instructor to fume in anger.
'How dare he disgrace the generosity of our Queen?!'
In Iras' opinion, if the Queen invited someone to meet, one had to leave everything they had been doing and simply rush to kneel in front of her.
This was his way of thinking that was mostly based on the old traditions of the Lohar race.
There were many who thought just like him. In fact, it was probably the vast majority of the Lahin kingdom's citizens.
Yet, even the Headmaster was quite calm as she waved off his concern.
"If I tell her this, she might be disappointed, but it will be fine. In the end, this little restless kid will feel less embarrassed to be in front of you.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAfter all, she is indebted to you whose your cultivation base is far lower than hers. This is not easy for her to accept."
Laughing faintly after she said this, the Headmaster seemed to be quite relaxed about this, only for a few words to attract the interest of Kyle and his small group.
"Restless kid..the queen?" Kyle mumbled quietly, wondering who the Headmaster was to be able to speak of the Lahin kingdom's Queen in such a way.
However, this was quickly answered as Selene leaned forward to whisper in his ear.
"The Headmaster is the Queen's master. Even if the Queen is more powerful than the Headmaster right now, their relationship is still the same."
Whispering to him, Selene explained everything, while the smile about Kyle's earlier comment was still evident on her face.
'So it's like that.' He thought, only to nod his head before changing the topic.
"If it wouldn't be a problem, a coincidental meeting with the Queen would be better. I think we attracted more than enough attention for a single day.
We have to get our hands on our uniforms and we have yet to find the dorms."
Kyle was ready to name a few more excuses to not meet the Queen right away.
However, the Headmaster was perfectly fine with everything he said. Even an ordinary refusal from his side would have been fine with her.
Because it was not necessary to stand on ceremony for her, the Headmaster simply turned towards the young female Lohar before saying something.
Not long after, the young Lohar, who was likely to be the academy's secretary, held three different uniforms in her hand.
"The uniforms are self-cleaning and you only need to= insert some energy into them.
If they receive minor damages such as small burns, cuts and so on, its possible for them to repair by themselves.
However, if they get severely damaged, please come to me. I will take care of everything."
After that was said, the young secretary walked around the small counter before passing by Iras, handing each of the three newly enrolled students their uniforms.
She smiled apologetically at them while throwing a glance at Iras.
A moment later her expression changed completely once again before she returned back to her working place as if nothing had happened.
Rummaging through her desk, she ignored both the noble Instructor and the Headmaster's existence.
Not even a few seconds later, a faint beep could be heard near the Headmaster, and once she lifted her left arm, a red dot began to flicker on one of her bracelets.
"Alright, it looks like I have to go." She said first, as her eyes traveled through the small group of four.
At the end, her gaze rested on Selene, who could only smile lightly.
"I hope everyone will have a pleasant time in the Glory Knight academy. Let the relationship built on mutual trust between our kingdoms shine brightly!"
Olivia Kersch knew that her words made only sense if one were to consider the Lahin and Anadra kingdom together.
However, both Kyle and Beatrice didn't belong to the kingdoms.
This changed the meaning of her words slightly, focusing on the 'relationship built on trust' part, which attracted Kyle's interest.
The Headmaster had mostly eyed Selene, and seeing that she didn't hide her face to escape her gaze, Kyle thought that the Headmaster and Selene had a firmer bond that he had earlier believed.
'That's interesting…it looks like the darkness affinity of a commoner-turned-noble, attracted the interest of a very old Individual!'
Kyle knew that Selene's cultivation talent was not all that great.
After all, he had been responsible for nurturing her in the past.
But even then, by focusing on cultivating, she had reached the Mid Vitae stage within a year.
This indicated that she must have received quite a few resources to cultivate, and that Selene had given her best.
And that was something Kyle clearly understood as now Selene's cultivation base was even higher than his own.
However, this had its reasoning as their living conditions had been quite different.
While he was forced to finish some trials inside a castle filled with Undeads, she could train, and the same could be said about the time after Kyle left the Razkadan castle.
He had never really had time to focus on cultivating alone, and even if he could have allotted some time to specific things, there were too many tasks he wanted to solve at once.
Unfortunately, this had not been possible, and he had changed his long-term and short-term goals accordingly.
But even then, Kyle was quite sure that his current strength was quite decent.
It may not be comparable to the prodigies of races of a higher rank, owing to their innate talent in terms of cultivation speed, or compatibility with specific cultivation energies but it was better than nothing.
He was strong, and on par with the prodigies of the Lahin kingdom, nevertheless!
Kyle was so caught up in his own thoughts that he didn't even realize when the Headmaster left them.
As such, only the noble instructor was left behind.
However, he was not too keen with the others for long either.
It was impossible for him not to be angry about the things that had just happened.
Not only were his words of complaint ignored, but the Headmaster had indirectly said that the Queen was interested in Kyle.
This meant that there was no way for him to do anything to the young Aldra look-alike, which was something that angered Iras the most.
Thus, ignoring the secretary's existence behind him he could only angrily mutter some words before leaving while stomping his feet on the ground.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"If any of you will enter my lessons, I will show you what a day in hell looks like!"
It was obviously a threat, but nobody really took it seriously as the gazes of the three women followed the angered Lohar before he vanished.
Meanwhile, Kyle hadn't heard anything because he had suddenly remembered something he wanted to take care of.
When he regained his senses, he thus turned toward Selene before asking,
"You said that there is still a week before the terms start, right? Is there a place with an overpopulation of beasts near the Capital? Probably not, right?"
There were other things Kyle wanted to ask as well, but he told himself to calm down and not bombard her with a lot of questions at once.
Knowing how Kyle's mind would rattle when he was up to something, Selene was not really bothered that he was once again focused on hunting beasts.
Hunting would allow them to accumulate more wealth, and even more so, it allowed Kyle to harvest the souls of the deceased to strengthen Arashi, and possibly herself as well.
After giving it some thought, Selene remembered quite a few places, which led her to end up saying,
"The Lahin kingdom is mostly riddled with an overgrowth of plants and beasts alike. Its quite a hassle to kill every single beast in a kingdom, and it will just create more trouble in terms of controlling the citizens. I think the Anadra kingdom is quite similar to the Lahin kingdom in this regard.
Sooo, to put it simply, there are many places with beasts that are way higher in number than they ought to be!"
Kyle looked at her slightly confused for a moment, wondering why she felt like providing so much information that he didn't really need, only to leave out the answer about the term's start.
As such, he sighed once before changing his way to approach things.
"Alright, in that case, we have one week to go out hunting, right? Afterward, on the day when the term starts we choose our subjects, so will there also be subjects that have to do with beast hunting, and something related to blacksmithing, or is there nothing like that?"
Kyle had no idea why he asked the questions like that.
And he could only slap his forehead, confused about his own questions.
Yet, while leaving the secretary after they found out the number of their dorm and dorm room, Selene nodded her head and replied,
"We can go out hunting as long as all of us belong to the Guild.
Otherwise, we won't be able to figure out what kind of beasts we're allowed to hunt, how many, and which ones are excluded because they're about to turn extinct.
Speaking about the subjects, you should be able to find literally every subject in the academy's courses you can wish for.
There shouldn't be a problem for you to focus on nurturing your Spirit Soul, and so on!"
Smiling brightly while showing them around, Selene's happiness was clearly perceptible.
She was freed of the shackles of her self-imprisonment that she had felt during the time she was alone.
As such, everything felt much better now, and even the air Selene breathed in suddenly felt pure to her.
Owing to the girls' earlier disagreement vanishing into thin air, the four of them had it much easier to get to know each other, allowing them to go out hunting beasts for an entire week.
