Yasmin fell silent, seemingly pondering as Lily continued, “I don't know if I'll fear death when I reach

your age, but I feel there's a limit to everything. Even if I want to live forever, I won't sacrifice others'

lives.

"I would never wish the same thing upon my children, friends, and family. Since I wouldn't want others

to do this to me, I wouldn't want to do it to others, too," after a pause, she said, "Do unto others as you

would have them do unto you."

"I'm...tired." Yasmin closed her eyes, not wanting to dwell on the topic. "You should get some rest as

well."

"Your Majesty, I hope you can understand that it's impossible to achieve immortality. I've only created

R10 based on the formula they gave me. As for whether or not it'll work, I'm...truly unsure.

"The truth is that I believe the chances of it working are essentially zero despite what I said earlier," Lily

spoke bluntly, no longer needing to beat around the bush.

"Enough!" Yasmin snapped. "Don't push it just because I've been kind to you, Lily."

"No, Your Majesty," Lily said, "I'm talking to you now as a friend, not as a prisoner. I know you're

different from Fred. All you want is to live on, but Fred desires a lot more."

Lily could tell from Fred's behavior that he was an extremist and highly selfish.

Yasmin asked coldly, "Do you think you can change my mind by praising me?"

Lily shook her head. "No, I'm just stating a fact. When you helped me obtain the drug to fake my death,

you considered setting me free, didn't you?"

The queen's gaze wavered.

"Human nature is complicated." Lily sighed. "Many times, a single decision decides who we are.

Decisions made by a ruler like you, especially, will have enormous consequences.

"I know I'm just a nobody whose fate is bound with yours by chance. There's no way I can influence

you, and it's ultimately your call." Lily licked her dry lips. "I just wanted to speak my mind.

"All right, I've said all I need to say. I'll rest now. You should get an early rest and think it through."

As Lily turned to leave, a guard hurried over. He walked past her and bowed to Yasmin, whispering

Lily should not have been able to hear anything since she was a distance away. However, she could

hear the guard because she had trained in combat. The guard whispered, "A Hylander came looking

for Rhea."

Lily was surprised that an outsider would be looking for Rhea. The former glanced over and saw

Yasmin looking at her. The guard stopped talking and waited for Lily to leave.

After some thought, Lily turned to leave. She then stopped outside the door but could not hear a thing.

As a guard was waiting to return Lily to her room, she did not try to eavesdrop and left with him, even

though she was curious.

Yasmin heard Lily's fading footsteps and looked toward the guard, asking, "Who's looking for Rhea?"

“Someone named Mike. He says he must see her for something important. His full name is Mike..." The

guard tried to recall the last name.
